We stopped by for a meal and were pleasantly surprised. The masala dosa was delicious, and the filter coffee was a perfect complement. What really stood out was the earthy ambiance, which added to the overall charm of the place. Highly recommended!
Nice ambience and good service. But food quality needs to improve. We ordered onion rawa masala dosa - there was too much of onion and the crispyness was lacking. On the plus side, the extra serving of sambar & chutney they kept on the table without asking was very welcome and a nice USP.
Great place for your 30-45 minutes break during your journey. The staff is very polite and the atmosphere is heartwarming. They have enough Car parking space besides roadside parking. Food is served tasty and fresh. Loved it.
Quite disappointed with the overall experience. Most of the items we asked for were unavailable, service was too poor, taste was also, just ok. IMO, there are way better North Indian, South Indian chains than this one. Special misses: set dosa was just too bad & washrooms were pathetic.
It's always delightful for us to come and experience true South Indian food. The malabar parotta and qurma is a delight, and what can one say about their filter coffee.
1. Good veg south Indian food 2. Nice family place to halt at Gajrola which till recently didn't have a lot of decent options except McDonald's and KFC 3 Clean washrooms
Cons
1. Parking for more than 6 cars could be an issue, so when you come at the peak lunch hour it could be and issue
Really really bad the dosa which I ordered was sour so i complained about it so they said it can't be replaced and thus were very rude I leaved without even eating
A wonderful wonderful place with perfect Ambience, good staff and delicious food. Do try their chai.it's thrilling and perfect to reduce the travel hangover. My kiddos love eating idli and they love udupiwala's idli. Do do try whenever u happen to cross it. And it is reasonable also. Not at all costly and delicious food, cleaned bathroom.
Loved the food here. We ordered masala dosa and onion masala dosa here and really both were fantastic and sambhar was delicious. Points of improvement can be that nariyal chatni can be improved. You can always visit this place for a good south indian food. They have some varity of north indian food as well like chole bhature and parathas.
They're true to their services. From parking facility to having real south Indian dishes, everything is lovely. Udupiwala will definitely give you a feel of
Comfortable family restaurant serving mostly south indian food, e.g. Dosa, Idli, Uttapam etc. Also have mini meals, thalis and multi cuisine. Food quality is poor, specially Dosa etc. Very small quantities of Sambar, Chutney and others. Poorly cooked. Service is sluggish and it would be prominent if you are in a hurry. Crowded during lunch, afternoon and evening hours. Costs around Rs 200 - 300 per person for a meal plus drinks.
So today was a hard day for this place. It got really crowded with hordes of Delhi tourists thronging the place for a nice evening meal. And no place is pleasant when noisy dilliwalas occupy it. There must be at least 100 people eating at this otherwise quiet place. Thankfully their staff was running all around and ensuring they were listening to the guests as much as possible but I could clearly see how stressed they were. I ordered one sambar rice which came quickly but secondary service was time taking and a little disappointing as well. No one bothered to keep water at my table. I was sharing the table with a stranger and both of us were looking to get service which was slow to come. In the end my bill was also incorrect with a mineral water incorrectly added. But I would blame it on the noisy customers rather than the restaurant as they are normally better than this. Still they need to be better organized when crowd turns up.
Authentic South Indian food, if that's what you are looking for. Very soft, fluffy idlis, which people pack and take also. Excellent Ambience, clean wash rooms and moderately priced, this is an ideal halt for meals for those on the highway, and looking for south indian meal served on plates and banana leaves to get the south indian feel, The thatched roof hut adds to the ambience.
This restaurant has nice ambience. I have visited it a lot of time. The food quality is good. You can never go wrong with dosa, uthapam, idly, vada. Coconut chutney is awesome. Ask as much as you want. The best thing is their sevice. Their staff is well mannered and helpful. People who are tired of Shiva Dhaba can check out this for a change.
Awesome authentic South Indian food and coffee, you should drop the poori sabji and chole bhature, I have not tested them, but there was no need considering the awesome South Indian they have and the service is so prompt, and I had read in earlier reviews that the washrooms were stinky, no more, well there is a huge improvement in every area now!
Shocking experience to say the least. One of the worst customer service I ever experienced at any restaurant in my entire life. After making 4 requests to clean the table they took 20 minutes to clean it & another 3 request any 15 more minutes to get water. We were not the only one facing problems, incorrect bill, incorrect food on the table, huge delay was evident on all the tables. I tried raising the issue with waiters but they ignored convineantly. Then I spoke to the so called manager but again response was as cold as ever. While having food I requested for extra sambhar (as their sambhar katori is too small for any dish) but to my surprise it arrived after I requested for the bill due to huge delay I finished my meal without it. Pathetic service, please ignore this place & go to some other nearby dhaba/restaurant.
ನಮ್ಮ ಊರಿನ ರುಚಿಕರ ಪದಾಹರ್ಥಗಳು Being from Bengaluru, I was attracted to Udupiwala, Sambar is 100% Udupi Karawali Style. In a second I went back to my place, Tasty and the idli was also as soft as I expected. Even Mysore Masala Dosa was good with tasty roasted potato palya, all dishes were served on Banana Leaves. Overall it gave me a Southern state atmosphere being in Uttar Pradesh.
Our journey is from Delhi to Moradabad to Haldwani and vice versa, so this is our must stop place, very refreshing restaurant, outside is all greenery, interiors are made in typical southern style, in bamboo and wood, quite soothing and relaxing. Restrooms are clean and hygienic. Food is Scrumptious. I always have their Idli sambhar, one of the best rice Idlis are served here, enormous varieties of dosas to choose from, my favourite are rava paneer dosa. I personally don't like there north Indian food chole-bhature, aloo-poori, and others, doesn't have that northern flavour to food. And it's very obvious coz it's a SOUTH INDIAN RESTAURANT! When going to a south Indian restaurant, order south Indian food, otherwise its waste of money (my opinion)!
