The present Kushinagar is identified with Kusavati (in the pre-Buddha period) and Kushinara (in the post-Buddha period). It was the capital of one of the two Malla republics. The two Malla republics comprised one of the sixteen mahajanpads (oligarchic republics) of India in the 6th century BCE. Since then, it remained an integral part of the erstwhile empires of Maurya, Shunga, Kushana, Gupta, Harsha, and Pala dynasties.
During the medieval period, Kushinagar was under the suzerainty of Kalachuri kings. [citation needed] The city was largely abandoned after the Islamic invasions of the 12th century, although the region was ruled over by a Rajput king named Madan Singh in the 15th century.

This is a Chinese temple.the temple architecture is very beautiful n based on Chinese culture.
The statue of dragon n laughing Buddha is so beautiful.
The other building is like a temple of main bodhgaya temple.
Very pleasant n calmful atmosphere here. Come here n feel the peaceful n calmful atmosphere.

Linh-Son Vietnam Chinese Buddhist Temple is located further north of the Burmese Temple. The main shrine is a two-storied building built in Chinese style complete with images of dragons and laughing Buddha. The Chinese temple complex also features replicas of shrines at the four important Buddhist pilgrimage sites: Lumbini, Bodh Gaya, Sarnath and Kushinagar. In addition to these, there is a replica of a Buddhist temple in Vietnam. This temple also has lotus ponds

Since, this temple is the first temple which comes in the way of travellers as they enter through kushinagar gate.
This temple is made by Vietnamese people.
The temple has amazing architectural work which can be seen clearly in the pictures.
Also, the entry in this temple is totally free.
By, the way, I am from the same district.
So, I often come with my friends to visit the kushinagar heritage sites.
The environment here in the temple is so nice and calming, so you feel better in the temple.

Linh-Son Chinese Temple is one of the modern temples built in Kushinagar. It is the first Buddhist monument that catches the attention of the tourists as they enter the gate of the city. The main shrine is a two-storied structure built-in Chinese and Vietnamese architectural designs. The colorful edifice of the temple looks unique and remarkably different from other Buddhist temples located across the city of Kushinagar.

It’s a good Chinese temple with the statue of lord budha in Chinese style and the architecture of this temple is Chinese. But the problems these days is that due to COVID 19 they have restricted the entry of people at present.

It's a traditional Chinese temple built by Vietnamese Chinese. It's got a statue of thousand armed avalokiteshwara on ground floor and three Buddha's on first floor. The beauty of the architecture is amazing. Just Next to it, part of the same complex, is a park with models of bodh gaya temple and mahaparinirvana temple.
