Everything deteriorated lot. They will pursue you to take buffet and not a la carta. If you refuse will be pushed around. I used to take the ballygunje outlet but this outlet is horrible. I will never visit again nor will I recommend to my friends and colleagues
6 Ballygunge Place always maintains its class when it comes to ambience and quality when it comes to food.always my go-to option when I crave for some Bengali delicacies.must try dishes: Laal murgi with porota, Kancha lonka dhone pata murgi, Gondhoraj chicken, Gondhoraj bhetki paturi, Kancha lonka dhonepata murgi
A perfect combination of tasty Bengali food with lovely ambience.the walls r decorated with bengali poems written by some famous poets.with jamdani saree decorated roof tops.prawn cutlets were too tasty.never had such tasty prawns ever before.loved nolen gurer ice cream.though a little bit expensive
We visited on 16/07/2023 and ordered Mouralla Maacher Peyaji and Dhakai Kalon Bhuna Mangsho vide bill no 6BP/SALTLAKE/23-24/Jul/6712 at 12.39 as takeaways. The fish item was good. But we were shocked on opening the mutton item. Four pieces of bone without any mutton, along with a piece of pure fat. The total meat content was about 5-10 gms. The bones are the type what we throw away for dogs to eat. I have dined in 6BP previously and had good experiences. But, this year, the quality of what they call mutton was very bad in the Topsia outlet (March) and horrifying in the Salt Lake outlet. Either the idea was that the container would be opened at home and so let us give the throwaway pieces. It is also possible that we were given the leftovers of Saturday as the taste was pretty ordinary. Whatever the reason I would warn any persons ordering takeaways to avoid ordering mutton.
Food was good but they make wait for 30 minutes outside while the restaurant was empty, they took the time for planning as they had upcoming bookings. Starter, main course beverage was good enough, did not like the dessert.
The place is quite expensive but worth of money each and every food item is just so delicious, love the food and service is also very good. Definitely recommend people to visit and try
Nowadays quality of foods are really substandard.not expected from you guys.don't want to visit again. It was my favourite food joint for Bengal cuisine. I am really very sorry to say guys maintain your quality.
One of d best bengali restaurants in Kolkata. One will get a lot of varieties to select from for lunch & dinner. Unmatched food quality & taste. Price is bit high compared to quantity.
I visited the so called best restaurant for Bengali cuisine on 4th Sept. 2018 with the team and client for lunch. The sooner we started our lunch, electricity went off. And they couldn't start the backup till we finished our lunch. One more horrible experience is don't expect your food delivered on time. One of us ordered for Bhetki fry as soon as he entered the restaurant but that had been delivered after we were done with the lunch (Main course). Poor rather I should say very poor management and unprofessional.
The main courses were excellent. The starter was shaky, and on top of that the waiter grandly announced that the non veg folks couldn't eat the veg starters.
It's a highly overrated restaurant. I went there with my family on 23-September-2018 (Sunday) and opted for a non-vegetarian buffet. I am totally disappointed. Foods were just so so. Most of the items were very very spicy. Didn't like their "Gandharaj chicken" (very dry), Langcha (hard inside). Moreover options were very limited especially dessert. Ambience and staff behaviour were also not up to the mark. The price of the buffet was around 750+ GST in the same cost (near about) we had lot of options and good foods in the other restaurants like Tamara, Barbeque nation etc. I heard their Ballygunge branch is good but a big no-no for this Salt Lake one. It's worth giving a miss.
Just been there in 6 ballygunge sector 1 Kolkata, I have heard about this restaurant and Bengali cuisine and being a Bengali always have that taste of Bangla food, I ordered kosha mangsho, Rui macher roast, kakrar jhal (crab) and rice with a vegetarian thali, food was awesome, every bite contained a flavor of bengal with rich conventional touch nothing can better than that, serving staff does know that what they are serving with a good description, it’s a heaven for bangla food lover nothing compares to it, price is almost negligible we consider quality in front of quantity and don’t forget to eat mishti doi, Nolen gurer ice cream and roshogulla, and after eating so much I have not felt like I have eaten something. Go for it
Awesome place for fish lovers, especially for the people who are non Bengalis and want to try Bengali food this place is heaven for them. Must try Hilsa fish with rice, daal and potato chips.
Chicken and prawn curry we had were excellent. But the two fish items we ordered weren't that tasty. One small piece of fish cost around 500! So don't try fish items at all. The service is good. But still, the restaurant isn't classy enough to demand this high rates. An expensive option!
Great place for food! The luchi, chana dal, begun bhaja stole my heart. It was a surreal experience totally. The menu explained the dishes in detail and the food was cooked with extreme care. The portions are ok. Now talking of menu there is a mistake in the name of Ginger Ale based drink. My Mum pointed it out very kindly. You might consider correcting it.
Amazing place with good bengali food. You can taste best bengali food here. Unexpectedly tasty and yummy. Specialy Gondhoraj Chicken. This was my first visit and i loved the service and ambiance. I will surely recommend my near and dear one.
