Went with family there. The food was tasty and served hot. The space inside is a bit little. Tables are mainly 4 sitter. They will provide you extra chair but after all the utensils, there will be very little space available in the table. Thea utensils were clean, made of white brass.
Fantastic thali, perfect Sunday lunch.was in for a day from bombay, thoroughly enjoyed the food and the impeccable and courteous service.service staff Shubho & Ambika we’re terrific.a must visit when in Kolkata.
One of the best place for bangali style thali experience in city with reasonable price point, their service & hospitality is also nice. The restaurant comes with good indoor decoration, the only con is parking of your vehicle.
We had 1 non veg Thali with Vetki Paturi and Mutton Kosha and 1 Chicken Thali. The veg items in the thali are unlimited as well as the rice and luchi. Tastewise Mutton Kosha and Chicken Kosha both are the same as if both are made together. The taste of the gravy was not as Bengali as we thought it would be. The taste of paturi was great. Veg items were satisfactory. Non veg thali contained: Luchi, Alu r Dom, Rice, Dal, Jhuri Alu Vaja, Lau Bori r torkari, Dhoka r torkari, Vetki Paturi / Mutton / Chicken as per your choice, Chatni, Papad, Gulabjamun, Doi & Welcome Drink. I wanted to try Morog Polao, but it was not available there. Service was really great. There are NO complaints on that part.
Wonderful thali experience. But obviously if you are upto budget friendly thali don't go there. Taste was really nice. I would suggest Ampanna which they serve as welcome drink, sip it with the meal and after the meal. It will help your metabolic process. (Motamot ekanto byektigoto)
Over hyped place. Food lacks authentic tastes. Food items are extremely oily but not of good taste. Buffet spread is also very less. Ambience is very good and ample car parking available.
Had the Sunday thali. The veg thali was decent except the veg paturi which I didn't like. The non veg thali with 2 non veg items was also decent. It had a bhetki paturi and mutton kasha. Collectively for two people it came to 1100 rs. Veg items were mostly sweetish, not very spicy or tangy.
It's an overrated location. Their welcoming drink, "Gandharaj Ghol, " is a one-of-a-kind experience. According to the Thali's price, the taste is just right. I've been there several times and have always found the service to be excellent. It was not at all crowded. The food supplied was of excellent quality. All of the meals were delicious, especially the 'Chicken Thali. ' Mutton is one of the gravy meals that should be mentioned. I'd like to return with my friends and family.
Today I ordered veg thali and non veg chingri thali through zomato. But experience was very bad. 2 veg sabji was totally rotten, the size of prawns, too small. Very much disappointed. Not expected from 6 ballygunge place thali. In future, I shall not order from this restaurant.
The ambiance was good. Food was very nice except some items. The dab chingri being expensive was not upto the mark, while the kosha mangso was quite bitter in taste.overall it was very good experience.
A must visit place for having authentic Bengali cuisine. Awsome food! This restaurant has both ala-carte and thaali system. Road side parking is available.
Nice ambiance, considering it is situated in a 'office paara'. The food is delicious. Price is right. If you are around that place, and craving for an authentic 'Bangali khabar', that's the place for you.
An Atrocious Visit! It was not at all a pleasent experience.
1. Had a booking for 30 people at 1: 30 PM but had to wait outside the restaurant till 2: 15 PM as the place was full. (Then why the hell did you take the booking).
2. Ambience was very claustrophobic. The staff looked baffled at seeing 30 odd people together.
3. Veg food was horrendous. Options were very less in veg, the taste and quality were very mediocre.
4. Desserts were also useless.
All in all 500-600 bucks for luchi, dal, chawal and aloo along with the combination of perplexed staff and a very small place (no cubical runaway!). Are too much to ask for!
This place is ideal for the people who love typical homemade flavours of Bengali cuisine! The culinary preparations are finger licking tasty and they provide you with three variations: - 1) The Veg Thali 2) The NonVeg Thali (without Chingri malai curry) 3) The NonVeg Thali (with Chingri malai curry) They would give you two kinds of bhaaji, dal, aloo dum, chingri malai curry, mutton, steamed rice, fish paturi, chatni, rasogolla, misti dahi in the non veg platter!
PROS: FISH FRY. OUTSTANDING. CONS: BASIC VEG THALI NOT WORTHY. DAB CHINGRY IS OVER RATED. THEY USE SHRIMP INSTEAD OF JUMBO PRAWN. THE GREEN COCONUT IS USED MERELY AS CONTAINER, WHICH EVEN MAY BE RECYCLED. FELT CHEATED.
6 Ballygunge Place Thali is a very nice place to eat Bengali Food. There are lots of things to eat. But not a good ambience. Veg Thali or Non Veg Thali you can get every thing here. And the Rosogulla and Misti Dohi I just loved it. You can visit here with family and friends and Partners.
It is a good place to enjoy with your family and friends. Good customer service. Well behaved staff in store. Fast service provided by the store. For a quick bite it is a good place. Decoration & cleanliness is well maintained. Nice experience.
They are charging ₹705 plus taxes for 3pcs non veg thali. Nothing is unlimited except rice, dal and sabji. They also charged one piece of Rosogolla for ₹45. Worst place ever I went.
Bad experience. The food served was cold, the staff was not co-operative or even ready to listen. Least of friendly people. In an ala-carte dish for mutton, there was no gravy and just bones without any flesh served. On pointing it out, the response was we cant do anything about it.
A completely opposite experience compared to their restaurant at sector 1 which was top class.
I ordered the Bhetki Thali there, All the dishes in the thali were very ordinarily prepared and were not at all palatable. The Bhetki Curry was okay but have tasted better. Therefore, either slice down the price or improve the quality of the food served.
Its a nice cozy place for Bengali Cuisine. We went for the Thali and it was ok. We were offered ghol as welcome drink and it was delicious. Then in thali we got luchi, Aloo dum, begun bhaja, aloo potol, saak bhaja, dal, steamed rice, bhetki Paturi and a choice of chicken/mutton. I chose mutton and it was a kosha preparation. We all liked mutton the best. This was accompanied by chutney and papad. Followed by kesar bhog and misti doi. Price wise i found everything satisfactory. Overall i find their other outlets better or maybe we should have gone a la Carte.
Nice place for having Bengali cuisine. I have ordered Bengali Thali, food was really very good, ambience was also good. It is under the premium category restaurant.
Heard lot about it turn out to be nothing. Food was cold bland n tasteless in the buffet. Should be served in hospital. One star only for the service. Worthless place please don't go there
