I visit this place often mainly for their signature item prawn cutlet. This time the price is increased to 180/-
The taste is good but I felt bit over priced for this quantity of prawn, it was fine for the price range of 120-140. The stake was mostly of onion with sprinkle of mutton. Wanted to taste few more items but changed the mind after having the "stake".
New comers can pay one time visit for a flavour of old Kolkata.

This place barely needs any introduction. And this ghee fried prawn cutlet is definitely the top pick of this place. All time favourite.

Food quality has deteriorated.they have started compromising on their quality of food for more revenue generation it seems.
Chicken chop had excessive amount of potatoes.filling of chicken was extremely less and very salty. It was more like aloo chop not chicken chop.
Batter of the prawn cutlet was under cooked and tasteless.
Also, the sales person is extremely cunning.he kept on badgering us to get prawn cutlet and not prawn kabiraji just because making kabiraji takes time. Realised it later when he was telling his junior staff not to take orders that take more time and to cater to zomato guys. Service was bad.they were more interested in serving for zomato delivery than those eating at their place.

BAD SERVICE

Dined in yesterday at dinner.they made us wait for 40 minutes between 2 orders even though we gave the whole order together at the very start.
They were busy entertaining the Zomato delivery people and did not bother with making our orders. We had to constantly ask them to make our dishes.

Extremely dissapointed with such attitude.
Unexpectedly poor behavior from staff.

Food was not up to the par.quality has gone down.

Campari and Apanjon of South Kolkata are much better in comparison.

They are famous for their Egg devil and Prawn Cutlet.
Egg Devil was really good, it's actually more special than any other. I liked the Prawn cutlet, no doubt about the quality but the quantity wasn't sufficient and satisfying.

The prawn cutlet is excellent but the fish and chicken ghree fried cutlets are tremendously good. The place is over shadowed by places like Mitra Cafe but Allen's kitchen is far better. They don't accept card but only cash.

Travelled around 20 kms for trying this amazing prawn cutlet

No wonder people like this dish so much. This is one of the best I have ever had ️️. Would recommend everyone to taste this wonder atleast once in your life

Caveat is it opens late by 430 ish.
Also I took takeaway so guess it would be better if you eat there

Allen's kitchen~ the taste of heaven. As the name suggests the food here indeed tastes amazing. The plates and utensils are very clean. Had an amazing experience

This food joint is one of the oldest food joint of kolkata. It is 125 years old food joint. This awesome food joint is situated at north kolkata. The location of this food joint is sobhabajar, near to sobhabajar crossing. They are mainly famous for fried dishes. There signature dish is egg devil. And the wow part is that they use pure ghee in cooking which makes the food much more tastier. Food quality is really good.

Prawn cutlet is their speciality. Mutton kabiraji and cutlet are also good. Please don't steak even by mistake. The place is also very small and a bit hyped up. All over the food is good but it's not that a great place to sit and eat.

Allen Kitchen restaurant is located on Jatindra Mohon Avenue near Dorjipara in Nth Kolkata region. It is well connected through road and it is also accessible through Metro railway service as Sovabazar Sutanuti metro railway station is near to it. They sell fish fry, chicken cutlet, egg devil etc. Their special dish is prawn cullet which costs Rs. 150 each. It is fried by pure ghee. The restaurant is about 135 years old.

One of the heritage restuarants of Kolkata. Its a small restuarant with very limited seating capacity. It has decent selection of deep fried prawn, fish, chicken, mutton dishes.

Only problem is its very hard to stop after one dish. The special prawn cutlet is a must try. This place is highly recommended for all fried food lovers.

The prawn cutlet is pure love! Price may be on higher side but given the quality and taste, it's totally more than justified! According to customers feedback, The best item of this shop is prawn cutlet and prawn Kabiraji. One of the USP of this shop is, they fry all items by using pure ghee.
