Recommended! A good biryani can always be differentiated from some local Biryani. The first bite will tell you the difference of the two. The biryani tastes royal. Also try reshmi chicken.
The service was pathetic. Chicken biryani was cold and the chicken pieces had only bones and no meat. When complained about the cold biryani we were given lame excuses but no rectification was done. It was not at all worth the money that we wasted here. Worst experience ever.this was the first and last time visit to Aminia.
Complete overrated. The taste of food is average nd also biryani is bit more oily Also not as I expected there is more choice on that location i don't recommend for waste money on such foods which is with unhealthy also that was not so good in taste (Average).
It is situated in new market area, very popular and large in size. Cabin structure is till now available for the sign of haritage of Kolkata. Food quality is good specially you can try kababs. Perfect family restaurant, with reasonable price. This is not so luxurious but comfortable.
First off, the quality has gone for a toss. The meat in the biryani was dry and quantity has been greatly reduced, one plate is not at all enough for a single adult person. We ordered shammi kebab, but they brought out keema kabab, which was too oily. The chicken chaap was good. The waiters did not care at all about the customers, you could go out calling for eternity and they just won't listen. In the end we left 50 rupees as tips, but they said it's not enough and were borderline abusive. The change they brought out was placed on the saunf, which is extremely unhygienic. Definitely won't go there a second time.
This is my worst biriyani ever. I ordered two chicken biriyani and 2 mutton biriyani. Both were worst. Only high on elaichi nothing else. Broken rice. There was no egg. I have experienced first time in kolkata biriyani without egg. And the waiter asked for tips for takeaway also. Tip is a thing which shouldn't be asked if someone gives you with his concern then its ok. Overall it was so bad
Food taste was not upto the old taste. Server charging different bill.we have to checked properly otherwise we may have to pay kore.after everything server asking tips directly.
The portion size is too small for the price. The kebabs are not made order basis so unless you are extremely lucky you only get lukewarm overdone kebabs. The food is also inconsistent. Service was ok-ish. I would have given it 3 stars but the restaurant did not follow any safety guidelines whatsoever, it is a health hazard to eat there in this pandemic situation.
One of the best budget restaurant in New Market. It is the first Aminia which was started in Kolkata. If you are a Biriyani and Kebabs lover, this place is a must visit for you.
There was a dead fly in chicken biryani. Service is pathetic. Biryani rice quantity was very low and price was very high. Don't go there, the price in which they serve you can easily eat elsewhere in a good restaurant.
My favourite mughlai resturent in kolkata. Many people may differ but first what I don't likes 1. Food portions getting less, specially biriyanis. 2. Quality of biriyani slightly ditoriate s. 3. Staffs' behaviour ok not great.
And now the good things 1. Fantastic mutton pasinda sik kebabs 2. Aminia special mutton curry and other mutton dishes are also very tasty. 3. Best firni in kolkata. 4. Very specious
One of the worst biryani (chicken and mutton). It only flavoured rice with boiled mutton and chicken. I think many roadside small biryani houses are much better. It's only a name that is running.
Staff was cordial, had mutton biriyani and chicken chap, the chicken was a bit oily but that's what mughlai dish is all about the mutton was tender and juicy and as a whole the food was wholesome. Pocket pinch 500 for one.
It is busy place to eat out, will be enjoyable with friends, however it might take time to find a table as it is busy. You can come with your family but must expect some delay in the service. About the food, it is very tasty and once you get a table you'll get your food pretty soon. It is a great place to dine in for good food in affordable price. Biriyani is a must try with mutton chaap or mutton kasa.
Quality going down day by day Even a road side Dhaba makes better than yours. Disaster standards. Your Restaurant will be closed very soon because of customer dissatisfaction.
If you ever visit Dharmatala, New Market Area then you must come here once. One of the best restaurants in Kolkata. Delicious foods and large area that will definitely make your mind come peace after allday jostling.
I love that place But extremely crowded during any ocassion you got to wait for 30 mins to get a seating place and then combined seating eith other strangers
When I use to remember 2002, when my Father brought me here for a biriyani meal & an huge difference of taste adding with hospitality was observed in 2021. Unable to maintain that old and unique taste According to myself.
Food is Really very bad. And the behaviour of the staffs was just terrible. I regularly visit this place whenever i come to Kolkata as same thing yesterday i purchased 2 chiken & 1 mutton biriyani and 2 chiken chap. Every thing was really bad that my family including me started vomits & also loose motions.
The food is really tasty.i have been to this place since i was a kid.i have seen the change in the biriyani.its really not what it used to be when i was a kid.other than that everything else is delicious.my personal favourite is their phirni.it is literally THE BEST. If you are going there then personally I would recommend the mutton chap with some tandoori rotis. ️
This was my 3rd visit at Esplanade Aminia, and I wasn't too pleased. I ordered 1 awadhi mutton biriyani, the quantity is sufficient for two adults. However the neither the mutton nor the potatoes were cooked properly. If you are looking for soft succulent mutton pieces, like that of Oudh, then Aminia Esplanade is not the place to go.
Best place to have Biriyani in Calcutta. If you only care about good food, and not so much about decor/ambiance etc, this is a must try place. You may also try some kababs. Fast service and inexpensive. This is the main Aminia and is way better than its franchisees. Try their special curry with Naan, if not biriyani.
Once upon a time Aminia was a reputated hotel but now the food quality is degrading day by day and it's just running bcoz of its name and nothing else.
There are 2 dinning portions, one is ac and another is non- ac. Ac portion has two levels. In the ac area there are small cabins which can be covered by curtains for privacy. The restaurant is in the busy area so a crowd is always present. We ordered one chicken biryani, one mutton aminia special curry, one butter nun, one piece irani chicken tandoori, one green salad. As the biryani price was quite high we thought that one biryani will be enough for two but it's for one person only. But the taste of the biryani is authentic and quality is great. The mutton aminia special curry is completely non spicy and we didn't quite like it. The irani tandoori and butter nun was great. The green salad had only 3 cucumber pieces and all other were onions and one green chilli. So there is not much difference between onion and green salad. The ambiance and seating is not cozy at all. So come here only if the ambiance does not matter to you, and if you want taste the authentic kolkata biryani and other mughlai dishes.
Food is good but behavior of staff is very very bad. Non-professional attitude, casual behavior. Aminia Esplanade is not good place to enjoy eating. Suggested not to go Aminia Esplanade, Gol Park Aminia staffs are good but Esplanade Aminia staffs are very rude, rough, casual and non-caring in nature.
In one word it is the best. Service might not be exceptional, but food quality and price is the main attraction. I ordered"Aminia Special" which is a must have, also you won't get on any other Aminia outlet other than this one. So try that out with any bread.
The food was not warm and in the salad plate there was human hair. The food's quality is satisfactory but do look for hairs. P.s- we sat in the AC section.
