The place is nice.good collection of sweets.must try are mishti doi.mango ball were also good.rosogullaa raj bhog.in fact all the things we tried were very delicious.
Sweet quality is good but little bit expensive.one of the best sweet Shop in Newtown. But If you buy sweets from the store, do not give any carry bag. You have to collect your bag yourself or buy it with this extra money. They do this under the pretext of protecting the environment. But Rasgolla & yogurt is given in plastic contanier without food grade of low quality. Snacks are given in plastic packets. And you will get gulabjamun and sandesh in small transparent plastic bowl. You can't understand this strange contradictory behavior?
Some of the sweets are very good. The price is higher than normal shops but less than shops like Bancharam. Although the same inside the shop is little less but the staff is good and helpful. It's supplying good quality sweets for long time.
Summary: Uncourteous behaviour from staffs! Rude and arrogant. Avoid if you dont want to ruin your sweet temperament.
Detail: When I (being a bengali) stand in front of a sweet shop (in bengal) do you know what pulls me in apart from the sweets that are on display? The store attendant's jovial and joyous attitude that adds that extra sweetness to the entire visit.
When I visited them recently, I noticed they did not have a proper parking space for the visitors and keeping your car/bike parked on the road in newtown with numerous NO-PARKING logos along with police all around, you know the drill, right? Also, I noticed they have multiple wrong cards assigned to wrong sweets, for example the card that read "Dorbesh" was in front of "Laddu" and vice versa. Later my little boy fancied some colourful sweet in a cup and it had a nearby card that just read Rs. 20.00. I ordered 2 of those and some other sweets. While the order was being packed, I asked then politely if they had parking space? What I received was far from what could be called a polite reply. He merely rebuked me saying "how can you expect to have parking here, there's a signal nearby" and started throwing a sarcastic smile as if to remind me that I had just landed from Moon and yet to learn about the greatness of their shop. Then the bill was processed and I found that the sweet was not 20 but 38 each. I asked them then why does it say 20 on the card near to your sweet? Once again ton of sarcasm was waiting to only remind me of my moon-journey. "that is the price tag of the sweet on the top rack, do you still want or not? " God! As if that extra bucks was way beyond my budget. I think the owners need to review this situation and think about training these staffs to stop this tarnishment of their good reputation.
Good collection of Bengali sweets. It is situated on the junction of Newtown bus stand main crossover (towards NBCC). 2 and 4 wheeler parking near the pavements only.
They sell fresh sweets.price of the sweets is at higher side but the quality they provide is unmatched in this region. Their misti doi and mihidana is a must try.
Quality sweets, price a little on the higher side. Love the taste of our very own Singara (শিঙাড়া) in contrast to Samosa. Crunchies of Bengali variety are really awesome. There is only one destination at New Town for authentic Bengali sweets: Annapurna.
Best in new town. But very specific items are only good. Must try is lengcha, dorbes and misti doi. Also any soft sondesh is absolutely gem. Rest you can ignore
Great place for delicious chhena sweets and specially bengali delicacies. The fast food option just outside is ok too for casual eating, kind of street side food. The store maintains good hygiene.
Because every day fresh sweets are available there. Some sweets are extra ordinary but very costly. I feel management of Annapurna sweets should give a serious thinking on cost.
The quality of sweets are great. However, the shelfs finish up pretty quickly & these days, when I go there in the evening, only 7-8 varieties remain. Love their chocolate Sandesh ️
Does not have a valid contact number. Even I went there and asked for a phone number. They said they don't have any. Recommendation: only recommended if you will have whatever is available at a particular time.
Lovely outlet with awesome tasty sweets. Curd available. Tea and dosa counter available. Small sitting arrangement Clean and hygienic Prominent location No separate parking space
Awesome sweets. Everyone must taste Annapurna's sweets, specially Rosogolla and Rasmalai. Just amazing. Best sweet shop of Newtown. You might find the price high but after eating you will definitely find the justification for that price.
Unnecessarily costly and of lesser quality than the big and famous sweet shops in Kolkata like Hindustan Sweets, Gopinath, etc. Prices are comparatively higher and size is also comparatively smaller. But, otw good, and probably remains one of the few sweet shops in Newtown, Kolkata
Sweets are unreasonably overpriced and the attitude of the shopkeepers is demeaning and disgusting. They often display their habit of looking down upon customers and have no regard for the service they are doing.
I would have given negative rating if possible. Today I have given the staff 100 RS after purchasing some sweets. But he denied and said it was 50 RS note. From my end there was no place of confusion but the staff even denied to cross check and this cleared my doubt.shame!
Only kind of well known sweet shop in Newtown. Over priced. Average sweets. There are other sweet shops too in new town. But they're sub standard. So people rely only on Annapurna. During festival time quality deteriorates further. For the new town dwellers, if there's provision go to Balaram Mallick in sector 5. It's worth your time and money!
Used to have much better quality and pricing but of late their standards seems to have dipped compared to other premium sweet shops. Pricing has gone up while the quality and taste hasn't managed to keep up. However, there isn't much options for residents living this side of Newtown unless they want to travel further for decent Bengali sweets.
They have a nice spread of sweet items on offer. Tastes do not match the price they charge for the sweets. The pricing is also not displayed along with the items which make ordering a bit difficult.
Authentic sweet shop. They have good bengali sweet. I would say this is the best sweet shop in New Town Kolkata. I suggest please try 1. Baked Rosogolla 2. Nolen Gurer Sandesh (Kalsi/Pot type shape is better) 3. Khir (Rabri) 4. Sar Vaja 5. Khasta Kachuri 6. Kachuri Many other options alao available.
The only sweet shop in Newtown Action area 1. That is why it is having sales. Otherwise the sweets are costly. Quality is good. But it burns a hole in your pocket. You can have a variety of sweets, curd, puri kachori and paneer roll. Staff are lazy and don't care for your orders. They will select customers from whom to take orders on their own. So you have to wait longer.
Nice and small sweet shop, very few variety of sweets, but saying that what ever you get here are good in taste, except rosugulla which made me felt disappointed.
Well organised and clean shop having variety of sweets at affordable cost. If you visit you should try the Rasmalai it cost me 38rs but it's worth it if you would like to spend money once in a while to enjoy life then you can have a variety of enjoyable sweets at your disposal but it's always advisable to buy those sweets which are not available in ordinary local sweet shops and before buying anything always ask your purse or wallet for you don't know whether you have required money or change at that time and Remember there is an old proverb "Sweet is the taste of wine but sour will be it's payment "
Authentic Bengali sweets along with modern sweets. Samosa without onnion and garlic. Variety of sweets and really tasty. Must visit them. Try the baked rasgulla. It's a must.
The shop is really good, it has large varieties of sweets. The good thing is it opens early in the morning at 8. One should try Rasgulla from this sweet shop. There are varieties of Rasagullas
