I recently had the pleasure of staying at Aster Guest House during my visit to Kolkata, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The guest house is conveniently located in a vibrant neighborhood, making it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers.

I have searched so many hotels online, all hotel prices in kolkata are high for the services n amenities they provide including Aster, cleanliness inside hotel is ok but outside and at hotel premises is not good.
Staff are very helpful and provided their best possible guidance and service to us.

Rooms are very well maintained and hygienic. Staff behaviour was very good and polite. It was a comfortable stay.

Expectation was good. Reality was worst. I don't want to say bad things about it. But 0 star, from my side. They we're such in a hurry for us to leave. Was not expecting this at all.

Location is the main attraction of this place as it's easy to get everywhere from here. Room was ok but not as nice as it looked on the website. It was quite tired and the walls need a clean, towels were grey and the bathroom is old and shower not great. The worst was finding a cockroach in my room on the first morning and one in my bed the second morning. I think for these reasons the hotel is a bit overpriced for the quality but location is good

The most amazing interior and most kind gesture of not only staff, but owner too, Divya literally helped me with ever small thing, and also no obligations to come and go at anytime. Once you try this, you will search for this thing in every city.

Very well connected guesthouse and service is very good. The property is old and not kept as well as it is shown in the pictures. But it is very good if you want a budget stay with connectivity to central Kolkata. Divya was very friendly and helpful. Kudos!

They even sent someone along as a guide when my parents wanted to go for a walk! Now that is what I call customer service and caring.

The room was neat and clean and given the location and vicinity to consulate, room charges are truly reasonable. The best part: fresh home cooked food. Hotel exterior and staircase is worst and unhygienic.

Inside it is ok, don't understand why many hotels are similar in Kolkata. How can they live with it.

Room booking time starts at 12 pm and ends at 11 am which they don't tell you until advance payment.

Overall the guest house is ok, budget friendly.

I had booked earlier Aster Home stay with the help of Divya but had an issue later I was given the option to shift Aster Guest house. When I saw the picture it was really good. But when I saw them really it was OK not so great. The price what I had paid felt costly for that room. They could have provided with breakfast for the same price. Room rating is 3 star. But accessibility is really good for the guest house.

I think the guest house have the best management. They are cooperative and understands what a customer want.

My son and I stayed here for 12 days. He had his US Visa appointment. The US embassy is very close.hardly 5 mins walk. Eateries, shopping places and tourist spots are at a convenient distance. Very hospitable staff and very accommodating hosts Divya and her mom. The room could use some improvement.

The Aster Guest House offers a perfect stay for anyone who is in Calcutta solely to attend the US Consulate interview. It is located 5 walkable mins away from the US Consulate and the Visa Application Centre is approximately 10 mins away. The host Divya will be your primary point of contact for anything related to booking and navigation through the city. The rooms are in pristine shape and have all the modern amenities one could ask for. The hotel staff are extremely attentive and strive to create a positive aura around the place. I would highly recommend The Aster Guest House for anyone who is seeking to get a true sense of Bengal’s culture and its people while completing their visa responsibilities.

The hospitality of this place is amazing! This guest house is not even 500 meters from the US Consulate. We had a wonderful stay, I'd definitely recommend this place! The room was good enough. Though I was mostly impressed by the well-behaved staff, complimentary breakfast, and the amicable proprietor!)

Good things: Staff Very nice, Owner very helpful, very very helpful in urgent requests, Rooms are clean, BEST BEST BEST place for Visa Interview office is just 7 min walk, Good vegetarian restaurants in 7-10min walk. MAIDAN metro is just 10 min walk. Overall best place for stay at very light price.

Improvement needs: if you are NRI, and booking for someone you can’t do it. They will accept your NRI CARDS but when your loved ones arrive at Hotel they need to swipe card at reception. This is little weird as I have done payment (not charged though) for my wife but she need to use her card at Hotel.

Overall it’s awesome place. You must stay here for Visa specially

I had a very good experience of hospitality at its best at Aster Guest House not once, but twice. Excellent food, helpful staff and overall very good for a peaceful stay at Kolkata. Proximity to the US embassy is an added advantage. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone.

This is a great place to stay in Park street. It is walking distance to the market. Stayed here for my US Visa Interview and is a five minute walk from the consulate. The host and the helpers are there if you need anything to make your stay comfortable. Thanks!

Traveled recently with my parents for a US Visa interview and we prebooked Aster because this was the quick accessible locality and affordably priced, which was approx. 10 mins walk away from the US consulate. The Host (Divya) was really fluent in English, which came as a big breather for us as neither of us were Hindi/Bengali fluent and the host was kind enough to help us out in reaching their Guest house with directions and was able to speak on behalf of us with the taxi guy. They helped patiently with our late check-in request, which was really fast and smooth. We prebooked a home cooked dinner meal with our host, which was really filling and tastier. Not too much we could spend time as our visit was limited to less than a day, but still a pleasant experience. Overall! Really, a comfortable stay, would recommend for those who are traveling for US Visa Interviews.

I arrived at the location, I was a little unsure as it didn't look great from outside with the stairs and the old lift. But inside was a surprise. The rooms were cozy and well maintained, nice enough for the money you pay. Most importantly the service of the staff was amazing. Host Divya was just a phone call away to fix any issue. I will repeat stay when I visit Kolkata.

I had an amazing stay at Aster Guest House, Hosted by Divya. The place itself is located in the heart of the city of Joy with spacious and highly hygienic rooms which made me book the place within a blink and also made my travel so easy as the major attractions and cafes are just 2-3kms away. The place being surrounded with greenery added to it’s charm. Overall i had an incredible stay at Divya’s Aster Home Stay and will highly recommend every one who expect quality as well as convenience for their stay in the City of Kolkata.

The rooms are neat & clean with TV, Wi-Fi. This is located in a business area which is very accessible for people coming on visa work.
They have super deluxe & executive rooms. Executive rooms can be booked only by calling them not through online.
Divya & her team are very helpful. She arranged home cooked food for us on request and it is simple & delicious.
You can have lunch & dinner arranged on request especially for older people coming from other states rather than eating from restaurants.

Wonderful experience with them. My Mausaji and Mausiji stayed there and were super impressed by their welcoming and lovely behaviour. Divya Madam mentioned at the time of booking that she would take great care of them and she wonderfully kept her words. Highly recommended!

It's a 500 rupees gust house, toilet is dirty and provides road types breakfast. The astral is different from this so be careful when book the ASTRAL GUEST HOUSE.

Wastage of money

Had a weeks stay at The Aster Guest House, The host Divya is just phenomenal. She arranged everything we needed in short notice and with such nice homecooked food, we crave for it even today. Will visit again shortly. Great Experience, more than what we were looking for.

We firstly planned only for 1 night as we went for a medical conference nearby.but the owner of this house, Divya Malik, she is a nice person and only due to her helping nature and good hospitality, we extended our trip.

Friendly behaviour of the staff and the propietor comfortable rooms and as well as it is in good location

It was a very good exp, the way my cousin and her mother was treated and taken care off. I booked the room in Aster guest house for my cousin who had US consulate appointment. Being first time visiters to kolkata with the language barrier and all, the staff of guest house helped them and made them feel safe. They helped them whenever possible. Neat and tidy room, great service, good food. Great experience. All the best and keep up the good work.

Was here for the Visa interview for 4 days. It's an excellent hotel with the best location. The US consulate was hardly 5 min away from here. The hospitality was incredible. Divya helped us a lot with the whereabouts and small details of Kolkata. She is extremely polite with the guests and caters to their needs. The breakfast was complementary and you could choose between a variety of stuff. The breakfast was good. They even serve home made food if you want and I must say I was not disappointed. All the staffs are well-trained, polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place who is coming to Kolkata for a visit and look around as even the famous places are pretty near to this place. You'll not be disappointed!

Very clean and economic hotel. 5 blocks away from USA embassy. Best for the people who are coming from different place and stay overnight for their visa appointments. Staff are friendly and helpful. I had a positive experience and nice conversation with hotel staff. They also helped me by giving umbrella as didn’t expect to rain a lot on the day of my interview.

I went for some visa related work and the location was excellent. It was at a walking distance from the US consulate. The host Divya was a lovely and helpful woman running this homely guest house. The option of home cooked meals was wonderful, and they were served fresh and hot by the staff at the homestay.

One of the best guest house near to the US consulate at an affordable price. You can jus walk to Jasmine tower and US consulate. Staff is very helpful and polite. Safe for women. The owner of the guest house Divya was helpful, picks up the call on time and helps with the details.

We stayed at this guest house between 6 to 08 July, 2021 for my daughter's U. S.visa interview. The guest house is very very close to the U. S. Consulate and highly recommend this property for people especially for students visiting for US visa appointments. I thank the property owner and her team for their hospitality that made our visit comfortable without any hassles.

Everything is good: rooms are well ventilated, location is prime, food is home cooked and good.

This simple and welcoming guest house is located in a very central area but, being deep inside a courtyard, is not disturbed by the sound of the trafic. It is clean and relaxing, and the service is efficient. Definitely a place where it is possible to have a nice stay.

The Hotel is located near Nightingale Hospital. In first look you will be disappointed. Old Building and antique Lift. But the have renovated the inside of the hotel really nicely. Staying there was a pleasant experience.

They serve breakfast free of cost. But their breakfast option is limited.and you have to choose from their menu. You can also order from outside they will bring the food for you.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Anyone visiting Kolkata for the purpose of Visa work, British Council related jobs, or office in that area should choose to stay here. Their home made cooked food was delicious. The Aster Team was very professional and cordial.

Aneela & Divya were the sweetest hosts. They gave us so much good information on the area. The rest of the staff was kind and made us an omelet breakfast:) definitely recommend.

Me and my parents stayed at Aster guest house and it was an experience that we will cherish forever. Eversince we book the place online, Divya was very courteous and helpful. It was the first visit to Kolkata, any place rather for my parents. From the moment we reached Aster, we were received with open arms and the room was great. It was clean, it was cozy and on top of that the location could not be more perfect. It's in the heart of Kolkata and any mall or tourist place was near (walkable). I remember my father uttered once "I feel like a king or something because of the way we are treated" We stayed for 3 days and on our way back, i asked both my parents what they missed the most about the trip they both replied 'Aster'.

Felt a sense of absolute security and cosyness in hospitality as i entered ur hotel premises.the room was well furnished and everything was comfortable about it.the curtains were very clean and loved the natural ambience all over.ur generous behavior n sweet disposure added to the beauty of my stay at ur hotel room. And yes i will never forget Divya the owner and Gopal da who took care of almost everything making my stay just awesome.

It was an immense pleasure for me to stay at the Aster Guest house even though it was only for a night. The staff and the management are very welcoming with open arms, love the friendliness and down to earth attitude of the staff who are always there to serve instantly and assist anyway possible, they really understand the guests' needs and are very cooperative. The owner is a really wonderful humble person who provided me with useful information and recommendations on things to do and places to visit in the city, and will help you familiarize the city. The room decos are simple yet pretty with a cozy ambience and has a subtle vibe of how a Bangla home should, really had that vintage heritage feel of Bangla identity.

There are areas to improve in the guest house and could often use routine quality maintenance, but regardless it's still a lovely place to be around no matter what. Whenever I'm in Kolkata, I'll definitely come to stay again or just drop by.

We booked this through OYO, after reaching the place, thry informed us that they have stopped their tie up with OYO rooms, even when we had already booked and paid.

There was a lot of confusion, we don't understand whose mistake was it from OYO or the hotel management, finally we were allotted another hotel by OYO rooms.

It's very comfortable, cozy, neat and clean, the best location for shopping n not only that but each staff s so well mannered n friendly, n most importantly the owner divya n her Mom so sweet n caring dy always make sure we r comfortable this guest House is the most comfortable place so far. Ds wll be my second home wen m in kolkata.

I was a guest in this guesthouse for two nights. The hospitality of all the staff as well as owner found excellent. I felt like as if i m staying in my own house.

The service by the staff was AWESOME, The room and hotel is very clean and neat. I recomand to visit this hotel if you want a good service. All the facility is available in door step. The hotel is located infront of Nagaland house gate. It's not visible from camac street directly. You have to get inside the apartment area to see the hotel Oyo board. The stairs towards the hotel floor was so dirty. The hotel room was just okay. There was no mat on the floor. The only things which I got in the hotel facility was towel, soap, body cleaner that's all.

It was my business tour to Kolkata for a day operation. After finding out the suitable option, received the proposal for Aster Guest House. Being close to Howrah station and around area, made a choice. No regret. Though rooms were cosy, but clean. Management / Staff very helpful. Food being served from outside, but choice was tasty. Breakfast was good. However, entertainment pattern needs to be improved as there were very limited channels made available on TV.

This place is nice. With decent surrounding and very near by US embassy.hospitality by the support staff as well as by the owner was very good.

Please never visit this place.or stay.pathetic to stay.i had booked its apaprtment by paying full amount but that was not available for me.and cheap room that was shared one was provided for adjustment for a night but when we complained the owner was convincing us to stay there and then was told us to leave.pathetic experience.

One of the best experiences I’ve had staying at a place. The staff was so friendly and helpful, they told us about all the must visit places in Kolkata and even arranged a car and chauffeur for us. The rooms are pretty and clean. The whole place has a good vibe to it. The owner, Divya, is such a helpful and humble person and instantly made us feel at home. This will definitely be my go-to place whenever I’m in Kolkata.

Fantastic guest house right in the heart of the city. I seriously could not have asked for a better host and a better location. Park street & Camac Street is literally walking distance, Victoria Memorial is a stone throw away. What really made our stay stand out was the lovely hospitality by Aster Guest House. The rooms were decently big, the shower was good, breakfast was very filling (Puri Sabzi, omelette, sandwiches). They also do a hearty home cooked meal (vegetables, curry, chicken, rice, chapati, papad, salad, pickle and an amazing Bengali mishti doi/sandesh) which is different every day you order. The staff was all time available to fetch you little things from downstairs or walk me to US consulate, etc. Property is hygienic and safe. Thank you so much Divya!
