Azad- Hind- Dhaba, this is one of the most trusted names in Kolkata. It has history and memories, I still remember when it used to be our go to place for chai, rolls and kebabs. The taste was exquisite and the experience was adequate. But now I feel the term "just adequate" has become synonymous to them. The quality of their food has taken a significant hit and is just only a little better than street food stands. The service now is abysmal, they don't attend to all customers in time and the waiting period for your order is just unrealistically high. It's high time they pulled up their socks give that there are several new joins now all over the city and they quite easily might eat away their customers.
Must Try:
Rumali Rotis Reshmi Kebabs Chicken Roll Dal Makhani Mixed Sabji
Why would you keep your customer waiting and not making the dish he/she asks for. I had to wait 30 mins to get a chicken roll while you guys chatted on the phone. Pathetic service.
The quality of food is very pathetic that much of high price. They call it "Dhaba". So, one can expect the quality as good, but seriously I've got very bad impression about this. And sorry to say I will never ever have my lunch or dinner from Azad Hind Dhaba.
The quality of dal makhani is not up to the mark dal makhani should be thick n creamy texture and little bit of tandoor flovour.meam to say when u smell u get tandoor smell in dal makhani
paneer bt masala should ne creamy texture anf in tomato gravy colour shoul be in red but very disappointed sorry dear
Okayish place.food is good but too oily.this is actually a take away place.but you can seat and have your food also at the small restaurant.their rolls are good.and tea is also good.but other item are overpriced according to me. I tried their Chicken bharta.nan (butter and plain both). Azad hind dhaba special chicken.tandoori roti.
I visit this place quite often for the wonderful rumali rotis. Tried the egg roll this time too and it was fantastic! With a hint of lime and black pepper the taste was great and it was not heavy on the stomach. The egg tadka with the rumali rotis are good too but the tadka could be slightly more tastier! Nevertheless will be there soon again to try something different maybe butter chicken! Just a small input to the management please accept cards even if the transaction amount is not high.
Food is good. Space is very limited though. Staffs are good. No compromise on quality and quantity. Biriyani, Tandoori dishes, Mutton and chicken items. Price is cheap.
An all time favourite. Some good old north indian food is available for your always. It is quite pocket friendly. We have mutton kebab, garlic nan, chicken bhRta and masala cold drinks. Food is tasty and staffs are courteous. I always come to this place whenever I crave for north indian food.
Good food. Ordered chicken dishes along with tandoori roti for parcel.came back and realized that they had packed rumali roti. Taste is good although quantity seemed less.
I think the 2 are run by different people, this one is not like the ballugunj one. Atleast the kitchen are way different. 2 incidents, on 1 my friend had to return a paneer tikka that was smelling bad. I happened to order an egg roll as I was on the go. A 35 buck roll had no sauce in it. I was waiting for the man to take money before the roll was given to me. He asked me to keep the money until they got the roll.
Once held the roll in my hand he asked me to pay. After my first bite I was highly disappointed to feel only egg and onions with lime taste in my mouth. No chilly, no sauces. I asked the man in the counter who replied with indifference "aise hi dete hain hum, sauce ke liye pehle se bolna padega". I said it's the other way round since I've had rolls all over the city a basic ingredient is missing. Poor attitude towards service. Instead of seeming apologetic (offering me a new roll was a far far cry) he tells me most places follow this policy. Shame on them for this poor response.
