Balaka Lodge

After seeing photos of this lodge in YouTube, I decided to stay here for two nights. I was deeply disappointed. Rooms were clean and well maintained. But service was bad. TV channels were all deactivated, geezers did not work. Food quality was mediocre and prices were too high. I would definitely not recommend this Lodge to my friends.

They don't provide any room for one night. So keep it in mind. Not recommended, better go with Bay view

Hotel is good for staying purposes, however I would prefer to avoid their restaurant, food was not up to the mark, they served stale fish and even vegetable curry was not good. Overall location is fine but room tariffs were bit high. If you prefer having normal meal then better to try outside.

We booked Room (No. 309) for one night on August 2023.
Rooms are very small with washroom attached.
Room service is not up to the mark. Service and Location both are average 3/5. Bathroom is also very small and not clean properly

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Balaka Lodge! The service provided, especially by Sahadeb Mondal, was exceptional. Sahadeb's attentiveness and dedication made our experience truly memorable. The hotel's overall atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming.

Service, food were good. Staffs/Manager/Owner was warm.
Just need to add more lights/camera to enhance security.

We had tried stay here multiple times but never succeed as this hotel is always in high demand.
But this time we are lucky & finally got a room. We have stayed in 4beded room. Room was clean, cozy & airy.

One of the best hotel to stay in Bakkhali. Everything is good except the food.
Food quality & quantity is not good as per the price chart. 10mins. Walking distance to the sea beach. Rooms are well decorated & clean.
Service is good.

All rooms are ac, huge parking lot, flower ganden, just opposite bakkhali bus stand.

Enjoyed my stay at Balaka lodge.really is a great option if you are staying at Bakkhali.the rooms are small but clean and have a wooden finish. The staff are very helpful and polite.they have an in-house restaurant as well

Fooding standard got reduced. Bakkhali being a place of fish, outside food is cheap and tasty.

Reason for stay in this hotel, is the interior of the room and the location. Food is average. Staff and manager behaviour is super rude. Need to improve. Deduction of two stars is the behaviour of the manager and staff.

Rooms are well equipped, good value for money, staffs are well behaved and location wise the 2nd best after Balutot Hotel. Food served is very tasty, sufficient in quantity! Hygiene in the restaurant needs improvement though. Overall a good place to stay for 1-2 days!

Budget hotel with good food. Staff behaviour need to be improved. Close to the sea near the main road. Room was good with clean toilet. But the size of the toilet was very small. Overall nice.

Balaka Lodge is nearly 7-8 minutes walking distance from sea beach. The location is good. Overall ambiance is beautiful. Rooms are neat and clean.
Both AC or non AC rooms available.
But the space of the washroom is very small. The room rent is slightly high but the service and staff behaviour is very good and friendly. The foods are very testy and food price range is reasonable. Overall experience is nice.

I called in the given number to check the availability and rates, the man who picked up he call was rude and wierd. He called me back himself and told me why I called him again.

They dont prebook for 1 day stay. If you reach there and found out that rooms are available then only it can be booked for a day.

The behaviour of the so called manager Subroto jana is very rude, rough.don't know how to behave with tourist. But the manager Tapas babu exactly don't know his title.is very polite, good. Worthless person is Subroto Jana the so called manager.we used to call Subro Jana " The Damager" Mr. Jana ' s behaviour is pathetic.rooms are good but the food choices are less and the price is too high

Not a good place for bachelors. They ask so many unnecessary questions. Should be more professional.

It was a great experience staying there. Clean room. Clean toilet. We availed non ac room. We got the room at the 3rd floor. The room was awesome. The toilet was super clean. The behaviour of the staffs are also very polite. Placed very near from the sea and the bus stand. The price of the room and food is a bit high compared to other hotels and restaurants but the price justifies the service they provide. The foods are fresh, non spicy yet tasty. Overall 10/10

The manager's behavior with the guests is very poor. The staff was also upset with him. Overall the environment was not nice. Better watch out.

Rooms are good but the manager and staff behaviour is too bad. Please go somewhere else. Not going to recommend food, it's reasonable but quality and taste is extremely average.

I stayed there for 2 days, the rooms were excellent, the Manager was so courteous and helpful. The supportive staff and room service was very prompt. The food quality in the Restaurant was very good. Parking space is very good with nice gardens. Thanks Bakkhali lodge will visit again.

Good place to relax for a day or two.placed in Bakkhali and Tarapith. Staff behaviour is good and polite. Rooms are extremely good.

The manager is crazy weird. The rooms are good but the amenities are poor. They keep the ac off and when asked to turn it on they charge extra. They don't recharge the TV. Even the employees speak ill about the manager. Overall we didn't like the experience. The manager was misbehaving a lot

It is a very budget friendly hotel. I don't know exactly how many types of rooms exist but we stayed in the rooms where there was everything that a middle class family would require; it cost us 1300 rupees for 1 room taken for 1day. The staff are well behaved. And the food is extraordinarily good-simple but delicious!

Worst hotel I have ever visited till now. Don't bring your child here. Not a child friendly hotel. They even ask for paying extra charge for giving boiling water for making baby's food. The front desk person is a illiterate guy with zero mannerism. Only 10*12 room with extremely costly. 1500 without gst for one night only. Ac and geysere will not be available from 6-9 pm which will be hidden at the time of check in. Everytime you have to ask to switch on geyser from centre panel. Expensive food and pathetic room service. They serve tea in a soiled tea pot with broken cup. And served a cup of milk in place of cofee. Nightmare for family stay.

The rooms here are great no complaints about it, the quality of food you get is also good but its very overpriced.

Nice place, good ambience but little bit costly according to me and manager's as well as staff behaviour not satisfactory, also poor housekeeping.

Oldest hotel/lodge at Bakkhali. Poor room service. No AC from 6 pm to 9 pm is a horrible situation. Food quality is so so and there is no such variation. No lift. Only positive thing is cheap hotel.

Have a nice experience at Balaka. Went there on 11/08/19. [Peak season, fare were quite high (2-4 times depend on hotels) every hotels at Bakkhali, no rooms anywhere]. Luckily got a.c. Deluxe room @2500/-
Pros: 1> located at very beatiful position near bus stand. 7 mins walking distance from beach (No hotels have sea facing rooms and avg distance 6-7 mins)
2> Had lot of option in food. Specially seafood. Quality of the food was very good and price was reasonable. Give 9.5 on 10.
Had pomfret thali just @170/- with superior quality. Omelette@10/- (Give just examples about price) Some other hotels used to buy food from here.
3> Every staff were also cordial. (Though food caretaker need some courtesy)
4> Bathroom is good.
Cons: 1> Price were high according to the room.
2> Room should be more clean.
3> Need to take care of bedsheet and towel also.
Otherwise a pleasant experience.

Well reputed hotel for comfortable staying.both the ac nd non ac rooms available in different rates.rates varies in seasons.well furnished.

One of the oldest lodge in Bakkhali. Its near the bus stand. The only problem is the hotel is not reachable over phone.

Rooms are overpriced as compared to their standards and amenities provided. However, their restaurant is good.

Rooms are average.had to call the reception each time to switch on the ac. One of the managers behaved very rudely everytime. He should consult some psychiatrist asap. If u don't get any other ac hotel, then only go fr this.
