Actually I’m going somewhere else to eat dinner but when I saw this restaurant without thinking twice I choose to eat here. When I reached, I don’t find anywhere to sit and eat so I have to ask waiter and he said it’s up stairs. OK I ordered from menu. Food is really best as the price. Saw many people and family’s also during my visit. I really recommend it.

Expensive veg food. But really good food.
They don't like taking online payment.
So carry cash.

Today we visited here with our team. It was my 1st time and experience was so good. The food and service and the atmosphere is perfect. There has so much different type of food options. They don't have much parking place. It's in a good location. You should try and go there to spend your time.

Just think of a place where you had food a decade back and you liked the taste. Today you go again and try the food which you had ordered earlier and you find the same taste. Yes it is Balwant Singh Dhaba. Those who are missing North Indian Food in Kolkata it is a must must go here. All food has authentic punjabi taste and you will never regret going there. Cleanliness is good and ratings I am giving you is as per expectations from a Dhaba.

USP- The taste of food good and authentic and service is reasonably quick.

Overall- A recommended joint to eat, if you are planning for a North Indian Food in Kolkata must go do not miss it.

The atmosphere should be a little bit silent and it will be one of the best restaurants in kolkata

Only once did I ate here and I don't remember much about the taste.
But I've been there for tea several times. Tea is very good but it's too expensive. And behaviour of the cashier is very rude, whosoever sits there behaves very badly.
And one more thing that I have noticed is that if you by a car and wearing nice dress the waiters will serve you nicely and quick to get good tip but if are in a normal attire they give importance.

People go there for atmosphere. Service is just adequate. Items are fresh, tasty but are definitely pricey even if you dine in.

Very over priced and hyped. Nothing special. Samosa and Kesar chai were not great as per my expectations and reviews. Also, main course containers are so small and over priced.

Paneer Tikka was good but amritsari and paneer kulcha was below average comparison to Delhi NCR

A cozy and compact sitting arrangement with so so service quality can amaze you with the food they provide. Pick any Paratha or tikka, you won't be dejected. We were 5 people went to this place straight after office. We were told that this place sells the best parathas in the town. And when we tasted, it exceeded our expectations. Must try Amritsari kulcha, paneer tikka, aloo Paratha, aloo tikki, their home made sauces.

One of the famous places to eat. Normal Steamed/Kesar chai is something that is a must have. Although, a bit pricey, food is delicious.

When we went, the place was almost occupied and service was poor at the time

The worst Doodh Cola ever in Rs. 180. They served that in old unhygienic jug. I have attached photos with this review. Very bad experience. Don't go for the hype.

Highly over rated. Even their legacy drink Dudh Cola is simply just a mixture of milk, thumbs-up and hell lot of ice. They are selling it for Rs. 180 a litre, which should not be more than 80-100 a litre.
Also, no hygiene is maintained in the eatery.

The taste of tea is average. Not at all worth the hype or the crowd of tea-lovers at the dhaba.

Don't be hesitate to come single here. Rats will be always your neighbour in dining area Also you can enjoy the worst doodh cola (₹180) with those rats.

Lassi is too good. Kachuri not good as expected. Other food like Samosha and jilipi are good. But price wise too high. Rs 20 for Jilipi. Whre as in kolkta we can have it with 10 rs. Overal price is high compare too any othet road side dhaba in kolkata.
Tea is good. Having kesor Tea with rs 60.
This also high. The Tea junction tea is much better.
So overall avarage.

Evenings are incomplete without that Kulladh of Chai ️

Also, not to forget, That thick creamy lassi! It might be a bit expensive that the nearby counterparts but oh I truly enjoyed it! Must try.

At night in kolkata, if you want to enjoy food, Balwant Singh's eating House is one of the best places.

Be it be day or night, this place is open 24/7. Best part about this place, u can just drive to this place and chill inside car and people will come and take the orders, I like this place very much

With all restaurants closed, early this morning, a cup of tea and sandwich at this drive through space was wonderful.

Although I had heard a lot about this place that it serves amazing food but personally I did not like it that much, I found it much overrated. I had masala kulcha which had very less filling inside it, dal makhni had no taste moreover the food was served well and the waiters were least interested in their work, we also had chilly paneer which was okay but not worth it's price.

Worst service, place is not clean. There are rats running near the table. It's heavily priced and very poor taste. The serving guys has iterally throwing the menu card, plate, tissue cover to us. Very unhygienic place. We ordered the roti and it was not hot and the gravy was horrible. They don't care about the service and customer.

Vegetarian house for eating where maximum Punjabi foods are served people of all age groups visit here specially after morning walk and most of them are non Bengali or Punjabi.

Old place for good quality veg food-tea-lassi- paratha. Very famous restaurant in kolkata for Punjabi food. Sitting arrangement and take home facility with sufficient parking place. Easy located form vehicle in normal traffic. All day all night open. It is stands on harish mukherjee road near elgin bus stop. Taxi- bus- cab available here all the time for you. Thank you.

Sitting is restricted. Only around 20 chairs. Best time to go is between 6am to 10am for breakfast. Good varieties are available. MUST TRY - Dudh Cola (Rs. 150 for 1 litre), Kesar Chai, Lassi and Aloo Paratha. The restaurant is open 23 hours (3am to 4am closed). About 1km from Victoria Memorial. Parking is available.

A bit overrated place. Food is quite tasteless but one positive point is that it opens upto 4am in the morning.

Today morning (23.11.18). I bought a gulab jamun from this place. @15 RS PER pice. The exucutive who was there he told me the same price but mistakenly i heard it 50Rs. After paying the money i checked the menu card and its written @15 Rs. So as i paid him extra 35rs i asked him to refund the 35rs in my paytm but he denied, as per him they cant refund the money through paytm so i asked him to pay that 35rs in cash to me as i paid extra. But unfortunately they misbehaved with me and he said that he will not be refunding the money. Then one more customer was there who tried to help me as he is paying by cash for his tea wt he bought. But then also they argue with that person, that gentleman tried to tell him that we both are regular customer of this shop so at least they can help me for my mistake. But the arrogant executive misbehaved with both of us. #BAlWANT SINGH'S Eating House #Mr. Manish Singh #Worst Customer Service. I do work in Radisson Blu as a Senior Front-office executive. As u guys are also in same field try to satisfy your customer. I have all the proves with me. Mr Manis singh u r running a well known restaurant, try to teach some manners to your staff, They are spoiling urs restaurant's Name.

Don't go on the name Quality of Food is average and not so hygienic, trash is all around outside dhaba. No efforts on quality just for average, place for food when you have a late night hunger.

Absolutely great food, especially the aloo paratha, don't go here for service and hygiene. Plus it's the only place in Kolkata i know of where you can get fresh food at 1 am!

Worst experience ever it was.plz don't go guys there.atr eating there I forget wht is tandoor rotiii.i couldnt brk there tandoor rotiii.my total money waste that day. I could not eat anything.plzplzzzzz reqst u oll don't go there.the drinking water which they provided us it was so unhygienic full of oil dirt.the area wz also unhygienic.n very rude n ignoring behavior of staff with customer.

Try the Kesar chai here. It's costly at ₹50 a cup, but the taste is worth it. Nestled at the Elgin road - Harish Mukherjee road crossing, right beside the Gurudwara, it's always busy!

The Bright Side
Great food great place best place to have authentic Indian food at best prices. This place stays open all night all day and has the best variety of vegetarian food along with special tea as well as doodh Cola.

The Dark Side
Just walk near the kitchen or to the ground floor non ac entrance cum restaurant and you will be shaken forever to see terrible and deadly rats infestation.
Just once if you can manage to get a sneak peek of the kitchen then you will never ever eat anything from this restaurant as one can see indian bread aka roti, tandoori roti, nan at times falling on to the floor which is wet with dirty rotten stinky water is picked up again put in the tandoor aka chulha and is served.

The doodh cola is prepared in jug which is kept on the floor where rats lick the jug after the doodh cola is made and the same jug is used again for the mext time.

My advise is please visit this restaurant and spend some time inside the ground floor non ac sitting area for some time and everything will be clear.

No matter how tasty is food the first and foremost priority is food quality that won't make you sick.

Food is average. We had aaloo paratha which was like stuffed naan. Sandwiches are good and one can try them.

Food is really disappointing and so is the place.
Not sure why people visit this place?
Highly costly, poor ambience and suffocating place to dine out.
I might sound bit harsh but it's a fact.

Not at all higenic.very clumsy.i dont understand why it is so famous.the taste of food is also not appreciable neither the price.

Always a pleasure to visit this. Their tea is what they are most famous for. So much so that it becomes very difficult to find parkimg space. You will see cars of all stature lined up early morning, evening and night. This talks highly of its popularity.
The only thing is that they have increased the cost of tea a lot. They serve tea in 3 sizes: Small, Medium & Large and cost 20,35 and 60 respectively.
Another thing they have always been famous for is Doodh-Cola (a combination of Milk and cola)
