Recently we stayed at Batabari Tourism Property during our Dooars trip for 3 nights. We had excellent satisfaction during our staying. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious clean and very well maintained surroundings. Restaurant of this property served tasty food as we desire. Manager and staffs are all very nice and polite. Our overall experience was just wonderful and enjoyed.
It's a resort maintaining by West Government Tourism Department. It's a newly constructed property. Not only you can a book a cottage here for vacation but also anyone can book it for marriage programme. They have 2 large hall for wedding event.
This place is adjacent to Murti and Gorumara National forest. Also arround the resort there is a large Tea garden which is operated by Goodricke, a branch of TATA.
However, lone walking through the tea garden is quite dangerous. At now a days it is being hard that some time leopard attacks the visitor suddenly and if such things happen, there is no chance to survive. Many accident was happen like this. So it is advisable that, always speak to local people oland take advice from them before you put any step.
Nice place to visit, specially between October to November and also during rainy season (June to August). Cottages are standard like other West Bengal Tourism properties. Over all nice experience. The property is safe for family and kids.
During my dooars trip we stayed in Batabari Tourism Property, managed by West Bengal tourism. Rooms are spacious with separate cottage facilities. A fantastic place I must say.
We went there for the food. Resturant has a good waiting time however when the food came in it was freshly cooked from raw to table and also very very tasty. The property is huge and unmissable from the road. Lodging is also has very clean rooms and the property is well maintained
An WBTDC property built just 4 years back. Nice one with wonderful ambiance in the cottages. The around atmosphere is full of greeneries. Hospitality is awesome but they serve cold food & without cold water.
Nice place to stay, relatively new property of West Bengal tourism. Very polite, well mannered staff. Great ambience, staying within nature surrounded by tea garden. Many natural places to visit nearby. Overall very good experience.
Wonderful experience of staying the lovely property.we stayed there for 4 nights and covered more or less all the renowned destinations around Dooars.would surely recommend others to visit the property.

One the finest property from WBTDCL, it was a lovely stay, rooms were neat and clean, lovely room service, very courteous staff. The Moorti river is just 15 mins drive.
Lovely place, well maintained by WB Tourism. The food is excellent, and the ambience is perfect for families. Location is not far from Chalsa and Lataguri.
We had a good 2 night stay.vast open space, plenty of trees, very well maintained.courteous staffs.willing to go that extra miles to serve customer better.bit surprising that being a govt owned resort that sets high standards.its b/w lataguri and chalsa market.this resort for someone who wants bit secluded space yet close to market.
Very well maintained and decorated. Every staff is very well behaved. They do not accept any tip and you can easily go for visiting local Tourist spots for great memories.
Absolutely fantastic experience. One should go and experience the hospitality and enjoy the stay within jungle and tea estates in between. Fantastic location.just beside Gorumara jungle.
Honest review - It's a really good resort. The garden present inside the premises of the resort area is quiet beautiful and very well maintened. The resort provides cottages to people on vacation, although I haven't stayed in any of the cottage yet. So I donn't have a idea about the ambience inside the cottage. Moving on, I have had food here on multiple occasion at the restraunt of the resort. I must emphasise the quality and taste of the food has always been a big satisfaction. Food is served fresh off the kitchen so, stale food is not a concern for tourist staying in the resort. People generally feel uneasy after eating food outside but the food here is lite making it a restraunt serving typical " comfort food ", yet it tastes great because they take care of the quality while preparing them. The menu card is small yet content, and the price is reasonable. Hospitality, ambience and service are always on the positive side. Overall the resort is recommended for tourist and it's worth a visit. Do enjoy the enchanting Dooars and as a responsible citizen, please help people in keeping a clean and green " Dooars " Donnot throw litters and plastic wastes (packages) around.
Batabari tourist complex is one of the most modern facilities by West Bengal tourism corporation. Designed as a three star facility, it has 10 stand alone cottage rooms and a huge complex and a plantation worth any good hotel. It's located between lataguri and murti-chapramari and barely 7 km from Chalsa. You are bound to be impressed with the interiors and the cleanliness.
The staff is courteous, they even let us use kitchen for 10 month old child travelling with us. My 6 year old son too looked pleased. The manager and staff arranged for both gorumara safari and chapramari watch tower tours. We arranged transport for dhupjhora elephant reading centre ourselves. The kits provided in rooms is worth it.
Two things though need improvement: one, room service has to include serving food beyond snacks and drinking water and two, there needs better front desk assistance in helping out in local sightseeing.
Food was good, especially Thalis and non veg. But if you are looking for variety, like continental given it's infrastructure, you will be disappointed.
Overall, really loved the stay and given the room rates (provided they do not revise their rates too much from April), will really look forward to coming back here.
Please note: We stayed there between February last week - first week of March when there were no tourists other than us, a group of nine.
Well maintained government tourist spot located at batabari more, behind the batabari bus stop and near to the batabari cycle stand also beside 31no.national highway.
It is well communicated with neighbouring town chalsha, nagrakata, matiali, neighbouring city and market area malbazar, jalpaiguri, siliguri by different bus routes, magic car routes and electric rickshaw routes.
This place has well decorated garden, outdoor decorations and beautiful cottages. Also they have a well furnished restaurant. This area has good security system.
Very good lodge to spend time here. Rooms are extremely clean and having modern facilities. The ambience of the lodge is very good. Only drawback is that the taste of the food is not so good. Other than that rest of the things are class apart.
Only good point is the room is renovated and large. Amenities are good.
Cons- 1. Location is not good. Situated beside highway. Vehicles' noise will disturb your leisure. 2. Security is an issue. No proper boundary. The washrooms do not have any curtains for the bathing area and is clearly visible from outside. 3. Service is horrible. You ask for an AC blanket for the extra bed (for which you are paying), and they say it's not available. You have to ask multiple times for room cleaning and still they don't send till 3pm. 4. Food is below standard. Even the simple aloo-patal is made spicy with meat masala. Also, it contains just 3-4 patals and the rest only aloo. Chicken pakora has 10% meat and the rest is besan. You can have one or two meals at the max, but if you plan to spend 4-5 days of leisure, this is not for you. 5. The complex is huge and there should be battery cars for the senior citizens to reach the distant rooms.
Perfect ambience.very peaceful.perfect place for rest.far from the madding crowd.simple food.sufficient quantity.more staffs should be recruited for spontaneous service.
We were in rm.no 101 & 102.room with general amenities was very nice, washroom was ok excepting a curb separating the wet zone with a toilet curtain is direly necessary, As for the external system litter bins in front of every cottage would keep the area clean.later electric cars could be provided to ferry senior citizens, luggage & food to the distant cottages.otherwise hospitality is very good. It is expected after the new restaurant becomes operational food varieties will be available. Indoor & outdoor activities are necessary too.however despite all this we enjoyed.
