Totally budget friendly cinema hall. Movie quality was good but speakers were sounding like roadside speakers. If you don't care about that then go. Overall budget friendly and comfy seats.
Simple yet elegant, Located just adjacent to the Bhawanipur police station and Bijoli grill outlet, the cinema is a pure blend of yesteryear's Bangaliyana and modern essence - air conditioned and comfortable reclining chairs to enjoy new cinemas on the move.
This is a heritage cinema hall, as we called it single screen hall. So you will see the stars and pillars are made of marvel which make you feel the nostalgic and for me it was a new experience. Now come to focus on my experience of watching; it was quite good. I had tickets of balcony so sites are decent there. Balcony sits are made of couch and make you fell as multiplex but screen are large here. One thing is very disappointing that screen is little dull here. And ground sites are not as good as balcony but justifying the cheep ticket price, is't good. Outside foods are allowed here so pretty good. And inside foods and drinks are not so expensive. Toilets are decent hygienic. And you can use it if you are in waiting for a show. Overall good experience. Kalighat is the nearest metro station
Went to watch 5.30pm show 'Biye Bibhrat'. The staff was very unfriendly, we went a bit ahead of time, they made us sit at the outer lounge but didn't switch on a fan. They said Hall owner ordered not to switch on fan before 30 mins of the show time. So none of us or the public could wait in the lounge with no fan. We booked balcony seats, outside the hall the banner says "BIJOLI A. C. " but the staff only switched on fans, No AC the entire movie. The AC machines were for show only. Worst experience. Other cinema halls are much better!
Good place to watch a movie. Situated at a convenient location. Besides that the hall is air conditioned and have good seats. Also moreover the ticket prices compared to multiplex is quite low and reasonable. Also have food and beverage section. Overall it's a good place to watch a movie.
Large screen for a single screen theatre and comfortable pushback seats at balcony make it a decent experience. The airconditioning could be better. Apparently the care was lacking because the audience was thin. It was a not-so-cold winter evening and it was feeling a trifle hot inside.
What I appreciate is there's a modern yet reasonably peiced cafe in the making on the first floor.
Bijoli Cinema - belongs from a prime location of Bhawanipur, is a popular theatre located at 38, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Road, Near Bhawanipur Police Station, Bhawanipur, South, Kolkata. They have 1 large screen for showcasing movies in morning, afternoon, evening and night. A medium size hall, has got nice ambience with a team of well behaved staff who are prompt in their service. As i heard, bijoli cinema is one of the heritage oldest cinema hall in Kolkata, in past only bengali commercial movie was released and showed but after renovating the whole scenario got changed, all types of movies now be seen here. No such space for parking seperately, so its better to come by public transport. Nearest metro station is JD park, just 5 min you need to walk from metro to reach the hall. Compared to current market competitors, they arranged things in cheaper ways than multiplexes. For the first time, i stepped inside this hall and took balcony to watch a bengali thriller movie. One thing i would like to mention that they have 3D facility also, marked above of the entrance though i didn't watched a 3D film so can't assure about that. AC is there plus they have sufficient quantity of fans which can serve the purpose surely. Balcony seems to be upgraded than older and the seats are push back to enjoy during a full length movie. But the rear stall is like old outdated one, carrying the tradition of 80s and 90s pattern. It's a mostly 'value for money' movie theatre you can say about.

When I was seeing the movie I feel a bad smell coming, I saw that the toilet is just beside the balcony which is terrible and feeling uncomfortable while seeing the movie
Worst cinema hall in kolkata, sound quality is too low and seats are dusty, food like corn, chips etc are cheapest quality,
Specially stuffs are really barbarous they have no manners, then put the torch light on the cleavage, came again and again when the show started, open the doors lights are come from outside and doors sounds are dhaaanngggg dhaaanngggg
The screen is probably not the highlight here. The ambience, audience, screams of retro kolkata. For true bongs. It is dolby, for the ones who seek technology and the screen is good enough. Please dont compare it with an imax or something like that. The sound is however a bit on the lower side, which of course is not supposed to bother one. Best part, time your movie with a quick bite of kabiraji or cutlet at the Bijoli Grill, one of kolkatas oldest restos situated just adjoining the cinema theatre.
This cinema is a single screen one. The renovation work is going on to make it look more premium. The sound quality is audible, though lacks the 3D effect. The picture quality is decent for a price like that. The seatings in the balcony is good, cushiony, but the seating down below is of plastic chairs. The AC is in working state and works decently. The place is beside Bhowanipore Thana, and can be located quickly.
Watched a movie in balcony. Staffs were well behaved. Liked the ambience. Value for money. Best part is during intermission you can get chips at only Es 20/-. Personally I never understood why popcorn is so costly in Inox:)
Not a quite good hall. Have been once there. Made my mind not to go there any more. You can't even pull your seat and incline your back, which makes it difficult to sit in a comfortable position while watching. I would prefer NAVINA cinema hall to this, at the same ticket cost.
Value for money. I spend 330 bucks that would costs 820 in nearest mall. Ac was ok.balcony seats were similar to mall. What else can we expect from a old hall.
Wrost 3d experience. Seems as if their isn't any ac. Was sweating the whole time. Cheap place to visit. Drunkards all around.very cheap crowd. Never ever visit. The screen and sound was below average!
Cinema hall is good.picture quality is ok.audio quality is good.need to add some good chairs chairs r ok and need to work on cleaness.overall cinema hall is goood.
Just best cinema hall at this price point (₹100 onwards), powered by DOLBY DIGITAL. I don't know why this cinema halls are empty and everyone gone crazy about! N0X and! M@X. Hall is AC and grab a seat to last rows and you will a support of fan too. Sound is loud enough to feel, screen quality is also good. I saw Endgame @85 from pytm and I became fan!
It is a very good and traditional cinema hall, air condition, well sounded 2-floor hall, well toilet, in the interval all sort of food, drink are available near your sits etc.
Very good service, nice cinema hall. All of Bengali cinemas shown here. Sounds quality is quite good. Streo sounds is also available. Tickets pricing is less expensive. Very good experience. Very good service. Well behavior. Bijoli Cinema is very good hall to watch bengali cinema.
I have been born and brought up in Bhowanipore. To me Bijoli Cinema is not new. With time and the advent of much comfortable, superb cinematic experience of Inox, etc it could be a little in the backfoot but it makes me nostalgic
