Calcutta Club

Quaint & old-world British colonial era club with excellent food and caring service. Loved their mutton chops and fish fingers. The slightly decaying formal ambience with modern touches here and there makes for a generally very relaxing atmosphere, and the hours go by without one realising it.

They must be specific about the dress code for guests.my father wore a kurta with a collar but the club staff said chinese collars are not allowed for guests.these should be made clear for all.

Food was okay but needs further improvement. Service was also reasonable. Ambience was good.

British era club with heritage building. Very spacious. Club only for members. We visited the club to attend a marriage function.

Serves great food. You either need to be a member or have to be accompanied by one as entry is restricted only to the members. Dress code is applicable for men and there is a separate dress code for winter too.

One of Kolkata's attractive place for gossip with friends, delicious foods in very cheap price but people interested in entering this club should be accompanied by one member of the club

It was a nice place to visit. There staff and all is very good. I visited the place for the National debate 2020. Seen some beautiful faces there. There food and all tastes good. It is situated in Exact Exide more. There is a Library, bakery Restaurants Bar.

One of the oldest elite club of it's own style, maintaining till date looks well, foods are attract, need to know more about terms and conditions for membership and others amenities.

It is a very old social club. Still retains it vintage look. Has all the facilities of a modern club and is still continuously improving. Located in Central Calcutta now ‘Kolkata’. You can enjoy a very pleasant evening with friends and family. Need a member to sign you in.

Went for Dinner the Cooch Behar lounge. Set-up was great, with bar, indoor seating and balcony. Great Ambience. Food was excellent.

It ws good and posh place filled with people of various communities and background chilling out together

Old colonial building with old values.the food is to die for. This is our groups favourite haunt.

An institution in Kolkata. It's a remnant of the British era and the original structure is still the same with few modifications being made. Continental food is really good and there are separate restaurants for Chinese, Indian and coastal cuisine.
Only members are allowed but they may bring in guests too.

Old social club with all the amenities imaginable. Multiple options for dining and drinking although you've to maintain a strict dress code. Good for kids too with swimming and tennis lessons available. Only thing is that the building is really old and needs minor upgrades.

Good old world ambience. Very strict on dress code for men, jeans, pyjamas, kurtas, chappals, sneakers and sports shoes, kurtas, and round collar Tee shirts strictly prohibited. Sandals with back strap allowed. You can wear Tee shirt with collar provided you tuck it in your trousers. For ladies no dress code but only to dress decently. Food and drinks has a lot of variety and of good taste at reasonable cost

A favourite place for older people. Good and reasonably priced food. Own bakery. Swimming pool, tennis courts, Bridge room for members of the Club.

Overall I it's hink a pretty good club. It's got almost all facilities starting from swimming to tennis and badminton and lot more. There are some kind of events held frequently. Food is good. Only reason I didn't give the fifth star is that if you're a kid then you kinda get bored. Plus half the events kids aren't even allowed unlike other clubs. The dress code is kinda very strict. What I don't like that you can't wear jeans which kinda sucks

Nice Club for evening / night enjoyment. Be careful about dress code. Should change dress code based on change attitude of Gusts desire.

Although not the oldest private members club in the city, it is notable because it was formed at a time when the existing Bengal Club only admitted whites as members.  Lord Minto, the Viceroy of India at the time, had wished to invite Rajen Mookerjee to dine at the Bengal Club and, when the discriminatory policy was thus exposed, a decision was taken to form a club with a membership policy not dictated by race.

The club had historically restricted membership to men. However, this was changed in 2007 and the club started admitting women members.

The club also has reviewed it child policy and has started admitting children above the age of twelve years of age at all times since very recently.

You must try prawn cocktail to burst up your taste buds then fried lobster and carry on till your stomach stop by gorgeous custard caramel.

One of the most renowned club of kolkata with the best lobby and social gathering center, had it be more than 5* would be better. Events here are a most to attend

One of the oldest clubs in the city. STILL JUST AS GRAND AND BEAUTIFUL AND sophisticated. Unless you're a member (which is very very difficult to become) it is quite expensive

This is one of the oldest Club in Kolkata. Has a large number of members. Strict dress code is there. Old British ambience is there. Food is good.

This is among one of the oldest clubs in Kolkata and has many historical memories attached to it. Situated in the hustle and bustle, right at the middle of the city, it has its own aura of peace.clam and quietness. The interior design are gorgeous and has a beautiful green lawn and lounge as well.

It is old, a big place fully good accommodation with sitting and eating, drinking, indoor games, a beautiful garden etc. This one made by English Raj so all English discipline is there, beautiful pastry, cakes etc available, also air condition and highly well maintain.

True to its heritage, in elitism, and capitalist means. The architecture bears colonial supremacy, but, since a literary festival took me to this prestigious club, I was highly disappointed with the voices that you could hear in the air, which resembled nothing that in my opinion constitutes the post colonial, post post modern, "Bangali Bhodrolok. "
The conversations are highly shallow, lacking of intellect, and supremely based on surface rather than substance. Pardon, if my assessment suffers from ill-judgement, but hailing from a very cultural and highly cultivated intellectual surrounding, I had hopes that the rich could be equated to sensible, well-learned, well-versed people.

Excellent Club. Had a meal at their Chinese restaurant. The food was really good. If you get a chance, visit the club and their Chinese restaurant

Grossly overrated for a premiere club. Maintenance is not what you would expect. Catering was poor, though food was good.
