Extremely attractive location. Beautiful ambiance. Service is too good. Foods are very clean and tasty. Enjoyed whenever we had been there. Overall incharge of CRC is Mr Chandan is extremely polite, efficient n humble person
I would like to bring to your attention about your extremely rude staff. I am a member of the Cochin Club and am here in Kolkata for a month. I wanted to use the CRC and I walked in this morning at 8 AM to check the facilities you have as an affiliate member and I was stopped and shouted at by your entrance staff. He was rudely talking to me me to get out of the premises. I told him that I was an affiliate member and I just wanted to see what the facilities you have (mainly the gym) and talk to someone and he literally was asking me to not step foot outside as if I was doing some crime walking in. Furthermore he also told me I can only use the club after 11-12pm and not in the mornings. Where is this written on your website or anywhere about this?
There is a way to talk to people and my member card CLEARLY SAYS I am allowed to use affiliate clubs and CRC is one of the clubs I can use if you check your website or Cochin Clubs website. I find this behaviour absolutely unacceptable when you have clear guidelines on allowing out of station club members to use the clubs.
Great place, it's the club who train children for rowing. Tye rowing is the international game and an event of the Olympics. Many children come out for national championship from here under the training of SAI coach. Coaching time 6 an to 8 am and 4 pm to 6 pm
The club is already famous for the multitude of activities it offers, with a special mention to rowing. Alongside, it has very good ambience for spending time with friends and family. The in-house restaurants serve sumptuous food and the staff, too, are courteous.
Hii Reader's, Hopefully you're doing well You should visit once, you'll get Best services there, today I'm reviewing it's close but it will open shortly. Near metro station: Kalighat Cleanliness: 7/10 Garden: 9/10 Maintaining the plant seems Good.
CRC is 163 years oldest rowing club in Asia, till 1974 it was managed by British Expatriate and most of the members were foreigners. Some of the rowing trophies are more than 100 years old and CRC have one liquor sellers and one Pankha on possession to mark as heritage.
Nice place for Gettogethers or simply gathering of near and dear ones in any Social Functions like receptions, reunions, marriage ceremonies, anniversary celebrations etc.
Founded by a small number of enthusiastic Oarsmen a year after the sepoy mutiny or the first great Indian revolt in 1858 this members only club has not only stood the test of time but even the great disastrous Calcutta cyclone of 1864 which nearly wiped out its existence. The club moved to its present location in 1928 after after the construction of Dhakuria lake achieved completion. This club has a heritage status and by no surprise is one of the oldest rowing clubs on the world outside of the United Kingdom. All facilities are uptodate. The service prompt. The bearers are polite. And the scenic beauty is unparalleled. Also a delight for bird watchers during the winters. The open air bar adds to the USP of the establishment. All in all an excellent place to come down to for a swim or have a drink or dine with your friends or family.
Calcutta rowing club Aka crc is the registered rowing club in kolkata, situated beside the rabidra sarabor. There is a bar, swiming pool, community hall for their members only as well as parking lot. In every winter kolkata quiz festival also happend there.
A very renowned place in south Kolkata. You can do various activities here. It is also a old institution to teach rowing in the rabindra sarobar. You can easily reach here just by train at reaching lake gardens station. And from there you have to walk around 8 minutes to go the destination. But I think only member's are allowed in normal days. But if you inform them earlier you can surely go there.
Went to CRC for an engagement and on an anniversary. The place is decent, lake right along the club. There are certain rules here though, fir example you'll need to wear formals with shoes, etc. So better ask the person who is inviting you to tell the dress codes beforehand. The food is okayish, nothing fancy. Try the caramel custard though, it's pretty amazing. Overall it'd be a good experience no matter what.
Great place to celebrate your happiness. Its elegance says everything. The space inside is not very large though but adequate enough to host events such as reception where attending members have a count less than 70. It is well decorated. With light and designs. And is nearby dhakuria lake. Where rowing events are hosted annually. Good place to enjoy and have special memories on events
Beautiful serene place by the lake, its ambiance, prompt staff, excellent quality food paired up with live subtle music during the evenings tempts one to revisit this place for the experience. They do serve liquor but is missing a cocktail counter.
Service is not upto any mark, unless you are a regular to the club. The service I mean of Housekeeping and Bar. You need to continuously call the people for any service and also need to grease the palm of the bar guy to atleast get some service, forget about a good service. Lack of manpower can be a big reason. Otherwise one of the better mid-level club of Calcutta.
Lovely lakeside location. Vintage interiors. Fish fingers and meatballs with our drinks were good. Stroganoff in main course, was okay not outstanding.
Fabulous Place. Luxurious, beautiful view of the Ravindra Sarobar Lake with Swans playing, breezes your mind. The food, wine is top drawer here. And it's home to hosting the biggest quiz of Kolkata the KQF every year here.
A traditional Kolkata club in an excellent location, on Rabindra Sarovar, Kolkata. It has different games and sports facilities but evening drinks with friends in the lawn is the most refreshing experience.
One of the better Clubs by the Lake. This is the oldest amongst all the Clubs located in or around the Dhakuria Lakes. It's unique location gives it the advantage of a ring side view of Mother Nature, in the form of the Lake and it's migratory birds. The CRC, as it's popularly known, promotes rowing as a sport, and has a good collection of boats. If you're here at the right times, mornings or afternoons, you'll be able to watch several boats being launched into the waters for a healthy round of rowing. Food and Drinks available here are comparable to any other club in the city. Several kitchens offer a variety of snacks, Indian, Chinese, Continental and Mughlai. However, sit down dining for several large groups simultaneously could be a problem since number of seats in the Dining Room is limited. CRC also has two Banquets, one larger than the other, which it rents out for parties. Caterers have to be accredited to the Club, of course. Generally speaking, it's certainly one of the more popular clubs of South Calcutta and members do love to spend time here. Total member strength is around 1500, I think.
