Happy hours prices are very affordable. Ambience is okay. Food and the staff service is appreciated.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the experience my friends and I had during our visit to Chai Break yesterday. We had previously booked a party for 18+6 people for a buffet dinner, with an advance booking made on September 14th, 2023. We were eagerly looking forward to a pleasant evening.

However, upon arrival, we were informed by the restaurant manager that instead of a buffet, our food would be served at the table, to which I agreed. Unfortunately, this change didn't meet our expectations.

The issues began with the starters; they were served in very small quantities, and we had to request multiple times for refills, which was not in line with our booking for a buffet.

The biggest disappointment came during the main course. There was a significant delay between the serving of different dishes. For example, Biryani was served at 9 PM, and Chicken Kasa was served approximately 20 minutes later. To our dismay, two of my friends had to leave the party as they did not receive any food even after waiting for more than 30 minutes.

I must convey my deep disappointment in front of my friends due to your team's inability to handle the service for just 25 people, especially when I had made the reservation a day in advance.

With sincere regret, I feel compelled to express my disappointment. I hope you understand that I am writing this feedback to help improve your service. If your team is unable to manage such bookings, I kindly request that you consider not accepting them. There are many other restaurants offering similar pricing with better service, allowing people to enjoy their parties without any inconvenience.

I appreciate your attention to this matter and hope to see an improvement in the future.

I had a great time at Chai break. We had a team lunch for 75 heads, and Chai break happily accepted to host us. We opted for a buffet and the spread was great. Not only that, the taste of most items were lip smacking, be it a veg or a non-veg preparation.
Chicken Wings, Biryani, butter masala with naan, Monte Carlo dessert, all stood out.

Nice place to chill after work as it is near to the workplaces. Coming to the service it was good not great but good. The Chinese bhel here is a must try if you are looking for veg snacks. We went there during happy hour on a weekday. Everything seemed nice and the vibe was chill

Went here on a small chit chatting sesh with a colleague. Had ordered a ginger lemonade drink for myself, a choco shake for my friend and some fries. The drinks were good but the fries were quiet dry. The music and ambiance was pretty great tho, the seating area is comfy! Would like to visit someday again.

Such an awesome experience it was. Yes People if you really want to grab a quick snacks like some yumm sandwiches or chai it place is definitely you should visit. They have hukkah with wide range of flavours as well. Such a cozy place and foods are really tasty.

Today we visited Chai_break.

Quality of food was good.
But they don't know about hospitality.
More then 20min we was waiting for water nd menu card, which is actually a basic hospitality.

Finally we asked for menu card.
After that they only provide menu card
NOT WATER.
Only quality food is not enough for a restaurant

5/10starters were good. Main Course are down (noddelsok). Deserts were decent. Staff behavior decent.

I personally liked the ambiance in the bar? Visited there last saturday on 27th Nov, 2021. As I have recently coverted myself to vegan, I found this place to be awesome for every vegans. Each dishes are pocket friendly with maximum comes in vegan by default and if you want that to be non vegetarian then you can addon your choice of non-veg item to it (best part).
I dropped one less star for this restaurant because of poor stock management on beers.
Although they had a good option on pint beers with exclusive offers if you choose a bucket of it
Coming to foods, we chose veg mexican wrap with french fries, chicken bbq, chicken greek salad as starter with kingfisher premium lager beer bucket. Post that on main course we chose veg lasagne and that was more than enough for two people. As a whole it costed around 2000 rupees with alcohol for two of us?

Nice ambiance, not noisy. You can sit comfortably and gossip for hours. Perfect place for friends and colleagues to sit together for a dinner or just evening snack. Loved the experience. Keep it up!

One of the Best Buffet in Kolkata. First of all the menu changes per day but the quality remains unchanged.the starters are served on table.main course and dessert in buffet.the food is amazing and ambience is extraordinary.recommend to book before.

Firstly, I had already booked 2 hrs back. After arrival the guy looked through the list and didnt find my name written which proves they didnt even book in the first place. As usual, went in and saw all the sofas were reserved. They made us seat on 2 feet high seats which were too uncomfortable to sit and eat. The food was also not upto the mark. Overall it was not at all a good experience I did nt expect this at all from chai break

What an amazing place. Honestly, just from the vibe of this place you'll feel great. From the staff, to the menu to the ambience, if there was one that could perfectly describe this place, it would be 'Amazing'.
I seriously fell in love with their quirky decor. The quotes and faces on the wall was simply mesmerizing. All in all, the ambience was simply amazing and welcoming. It gave off this fun loving vibe.
I'll come to the menu now. The food was finger licking delicious. There were a lot of starters and all of them tasted amazing. There were plenty of options for both veg and non veg. The drinks were delightful. I'd like everyone to try out the fresh lime soda and masala cola. They also serve the starters which I can think was good. For the main course and dessert, it was self service. But I don't think that should be a problem because you can eat as much as you want. The food was amazing and there were plenty of options for the veg and non veg. For vegetarians, I'd definitely recommend them to try out the paneer makhni. It was simply amazing. The dessert was freshly made and it was really tasty.
The good thing about this place was that they offered a different section for the smoking area and bar area which I think was quite good. We also had keshar tea in the end which was their speciality and it was freaking delicious.
Pro tip - book ahead in dineout. Com for amazing discount.

I had a booking today at 12.00pm through dine out. Booking I'd DO9567037. Bt I was late and entered by 1.00pm.they refused to accept our booking as I was late. Though restro was almost vacant except a single table.

It was ok ok.ambience is not too gud not too bad.starters are on good side.they have 5 veg and 5 non veg starters, startubg with a welcome drink.maincouse is ok not soo kuch gud and delicious. In deserts section you will be having very less options, overall its a mid range buffet.

Okay I've been here only once but I really want to visit this place once again.their starters are mouth watering. And desserts also.main course was better than average.
Overall this is a quiet place and can be visited with family or friends.

Good ambience, good food. They have amazing options for starters. But very less options for desserts. Main course is okay.

Buffett served here as reasonable price.
Foods are tasty and delicious.
2 hours allotted for Buffett.

Great place to hang out with friends and family. The food quality and ambience are very good as well. The staff's pretty amicable too.

Opted for buffet lunch. Starters were ok. Few items were delicious but most were average. Main course were below average, didn't like the taste and were not upto the mark. Dessert were better than starters and main course. Overall it was not a very good experience for taste buds. Staffs were polite and helpful. Would have given 1 star for food but giving one more star for the staff. Would not like to visit there for buffet.

Good abience and food. Wednesday Eve/ night is good for a relaxing mood. Prices are a bit higher than usual. But it's merge with the abience.

Starters and buffet was not that impressive. Taste was below average. BBQ nation beside that gives 20 times more menu and amazing taste with few bucks difference. I don't recommend this place.

This place is literally awesome (About the buffet). Food here is delicious. The price is completely worth compared to the quality of food provided. Various kinds of Kebabs (Chicken, Fish, paneer), fritters, Pizza, Chaat (not as good) etc.are present here. Definitely try those, especially the chicken kebabs, coz they are awesome. Also try their Crispy Baby Corn (its delicious). Now coming to the main course, it consists of several items, some are prepared daily and some are prepared based on the wish of the Chefs. Consists of Biryani, Malai Prawn, Paneer, Noodles, Dal Makhani, Mutton, Basa fish prepared in various sauces. Definitely try the fish and the mutton (recommended), Malai Prawn (mandatory, its just delicious). Also a few types of salads, dips, chutneys are present which could be tried. Now about the desert. Gulab Jamuns, Short cakes, various types of sweets, Ice Cream are present. Especially try the Baked Mihidana (if present, as they are made occasionally) and the Rosh malai and Short cakes. Also call them beforehand as their menu changes daily. Aso try to reserve the place beforehand using dineout app or from the other sources to get maximum discount. Reaching the location is also quite easy. Just reach the RDB and u will find the place clearly as it is located beneath the RDB. Overall this is place is awesome to visit considering the price. Soo Just Go For ITT. (U WONT REGRET IT).

We went with family of 3 persons. We went from Bally. Bally Hault to Bidhannagar Station by Dankuni local. By Bus S30A from Bidhannagar station area to RDB bus stop took 30 minutes and Rs. 10/- per person
Bus stops near the Restaurant are Fire Brigade, G. P. Block, Nal Bon, SDF, Webel more etc. We came by Bus from SDF bus stop Karunamoyee to Rajchandrapur bus. It took Rs. 18/- per person and near about 2 hours up to Bally halt station bus stop.
There are many good restaurants like Barbeque Nation, Ocean Grill, I am Momo in the area. The restaurant Chai Break Bar & Restaurant is good, nice Ambiance, food quality and quantity are good as well the staffs behavior. We entered on 12.45 P. M.and exit on 3 P.m. After finishing the delicious lunch. Menu of the Main course and Dessert are not many but food quality is good. Biryani, Moton and Gulab Jamun were not so good taste and not up to the mark. Except it other things were up to the mark.
I recommend every one to visit there and enjoy the food.
We booked table in advance through dine out App. Discount got Rs. 70/- per person and they provided Rs. 250/- Cash back and Rs. 200/- additional money.
We paid Rs. 599/- per person by Dine out App. We paid additional Rs. 84/- for extra soft drinks lemon water chilled and delicious.

The ambience of the place is good but one thing i didn't like it closes at 12, located at sector 5 it should be open till late since that's the whole point of going to sector 5 that you get chai almost anytime

Food is not at all good. Refill of food in the buffet is not taken care off well. Staffs unprofessional. Ambience is better than just ok.

This buffet is cheap yet very Good in quality also the food tasted so well. I booked the table through dine out that is why it costed Rs. 549. Here you can get chicken, fish, prawn, mutton. A lot of non veg starters. Also the desserts were mostly in Bengali style so you will like them all. The quality is maintained here very nicely. Lastly tha ambiance is very very soothing. This is a must go place.

It's a good buffet restaurant, it also has bar and hookah counter. It will cost 549/- at lunch buffet if you book through dine out app. It gives a full course of starter, main course and dessert. It has a lovely ambience. The staffs are cordial too.

Quality of food was good, but service was late. Also lacked variety in terms of Buffet spread.

Starter was pretty good, u will find lot of varieties in starter, main course was so so i didn't like the mutton u wont find lot of desserts but was good joto ta manush khete pare according to the price was nice overall

Today i went to chai break and its my worst buffet 556 rs just wasted.main courses specially mutton and chicken was badly smelling.more about chai break means justed wasted of money

Chai break is a very well known place for having shisha and food but i will suggest u to have a chai break special chai if you are a typical chai lover.

If you want a relaxing evening with your loved ones this is the place to enjoy a good conversation over great food. They serve every kind of beverages and great number of choices in food. Portions are great to. Music there is smoothing and not interfering. Waiters are attentive and obliging. You should specifically try the Masala Coke and Mutton Rogan Josh.

Expected a lot from chai break but overall experience was average. One dish (prawn curry) from main course was smelling very badly. Otherwise starter and main course was fine. The main disappointed was dessert section. Only 3 or 4 kind of desserts were available. It could be their policy because I visited there on weekdays. Anyway the price of the buffet was affordable and that's a positive.

Good place to hang out with groups and have delicious non veg starters. For veg starters and main coirse there are not so much choices available. So non-veg lovers will definitely enjoy the food. If you are into Hookahs, you can enjoy with your gang.

Wana have good food along with sisha go ti this place, prices i think are bit higher as compared to other local cafes, but staff services, food, ambience is good.

Went for the buffet with team, the staff was not so good and so is the food. They were so reluctant to change the utensils. There are very limited items in buffet for main course. And that too take very much time in serving. Starters were ok. Desserts was not nice.

Tip - Don't take Dubai base herbal hookah. It's waste of money.

Value for money when u r hungry. I always liked their pizza slice in the starters which took me on a surprise the first time. You can ask them to modify the starter preparations as per your likings. They could now start including crabs and in starters. Mutton is also missing from starter is a set back for some.

Nice place for couple and office goers for a quick buffet. Starter items were great and were of great variety. Fish item was palatable. A private room to offer people to quench their thirst for Hookah. Dessert items could be a bit more, should include Kulfi and Paan. Utter shocking to me was when they have only one Vanilla option for Ice-Cream. They should offer at least chocolate or butter scotch. Overall it was nice experience.

Located in the RDB Cinemas Building in Sec 5, Chai break offers Shisha as well as Alcoholic Beverages. The first outlet of its chain to serve Non Vegetarian food with lip smacking dishes. Both the Indian and Chinese cuisines are equally tasty though they serve Italian dishes also. Prices are offerdable considering the location and the ambience could have been better.

A very good place to have buffet and chillout.
The starters were exceptional speacially the chicken reshmi kebab and fish. The pizza was also something thatI wasn’t expecting at all in the starters. The main course was good but not great. In the deserts section there aren’t too many options available, but who is complaining? The service was also very good. Ultimately the starters are the ones which makes this buffet a must try. I was so excited that I only got pictures of the leftovers.

Great buffet at a very economic price. Taste of the food is good but not great. The variety is large and service is prompt. Because of the economic price you can't really be critical of the taste of the items.

One of the most happening places in Salt Lake sector V.very near to RDB Boulevard.you can enjoy great food with good liquor.at quite reasonable prices.yes its not only about Chai. Sisha is also available

Its been long and I've been a visiting this particular cafe for a long time. I really like this place. The ambience is good & the lighting's really great, goes well with the hookah area.

The place is really good to relax and chill with your buddies over a hookah and food.

Pizzas are really good here. They cook it so well.

I had 4 toppings thin crust Pizza, that was topped with tossed onions, mushrooms, tomato and olives. And a bit of cheese added to it. Tasted so good must say.

Even the dining area has really nice decoration and also a big projector that's telecasts different sports. So you can just come here, enjoy your food with your favorite sports and also enjoy some drinks (carry your 21+ Id proof).
