It was in December 2020 that I had visited in this place.

It's a nice place. Location is just awesome. All the Rooms are view room. Food quality and quantity is good. Service is prompt. Bur Barbecue is prohibited as it is under forest dept.
Recommend.

I had the worst experience here. The room was too small even for two people, there was not enough space to move freely. I had an early morning checkout at 5 am and the geysure was not working from midnight, so i had to use the freezing cold water at a temperature of 3 degrees. And don't even expect toiletries. They didn't even provide handwash or towels or napkins. The food was not good at all in terms of quality I and not considering taste. For two people they serve only one plate of momo as evening snack. I ordered extra momo as those were tasty and had to pay 150 bucks for 10 momos, Kolkata sells cheaper momos than that. There is no facility of bonefire though you are willing to pay extra. The adjoining rooms can hear your talks very clearly so no chance of privacy. Pathetic service and stay. Yes the location is great, if the sky is clear you can get an amazing view of kunchenjunga from your room or balcony. Also the watch tower is pretty close from the homestay.

Chatakpur Humro home is excellent for staying for 2/3 days with its nice location and tasty food supplied by the ladies of the Home

Excellent location - could see Kanchanjangha right from your balcony. Great hospitality from the host. Simple but tasty meals, snacks and beverages. Would highly recommend this home stay!

Horrible. Totally not recommended if traveling with kids or old parents. Basic things and courtesy missing. Like rooms have no heater/blower. Rooms are not air sealed and ever window panes are broken letting cold air in.
They serve cold water to drink. On request they give just so so warm water and that too without glass. You go to kitchen to ask for glasses. With temp of 5 odd degree this is nightmare. Forget about towels, toiletries etc.they have nothing

It isn't a place to enjoy your Holidays, firstly their rude behaviour on service and poor quality rooms of high cost! Remember to speak what you say! Because they can threat you to kick out in the middle of the night, the toilets are not up to the mark in those chilly nights!

Host is absolutely unprofessional. I've been travelling to different places in North Bengal and Sikkim for decades but never seen such rude behaving host. We came to Chatakpur just after visiting a hotel in Kaluk (Sikkim) where hosts were so welcoming. That hotel authority in Sikkim gifted us plenty of saplings without being requested. When we came to Humro Home, they accused us of stealing forest properties. This was so humiliating for us.

They didn't even keep their own words. We transferred a booking amount after agreeing at a rate while discussing over phone. While billing they didn't keep their own words. If someone is intending to visit their homestay I would recommend to record conversation with them prior to your visit if needed.

Finally I booked this homestay for me and few other families accompanying me. I felt so embarrassed and guilty for booking this homestay. Wish I could book a better homestay! And there are actually plenty of good options available like Aakriti homestay and others. Please think twice before booking Humro Home.

We stayed at Prem Dorji Homestay. They are very good people, Hospitality was top notch, Enjoyed our stay, and We would like to visit Chatakpur again, as It is a dreamy place, And we would like to stay at Prem Dorji. You Can Watch The Beautiful Sunrise From your bed.

This is a quiet, off beat, less crowded place. It has been kept simple just to enjoy the ambience around. Also this place is within the Senchal wildlife Sanctuary so you have to be a bit careful in the night. Preferably staying within the rooms at night is advisable.

Also it is a simple place run by Chetan Sherpa and his mom. So the food served is just like the way you get it at home. We loved the food it was served hot and fresh. Don't expect anything fancy because this itself is a difficult place to live. But the food quality and quantity is apt. I loved the simplicity. Also the tea is wonderful and feels like magic in the chilling winters. Chetan dajyu and aunty took good care of us. Also the washrooms are proper and clean with geysers.

The view point is nearby and you can also get a clear view of Kanchenjunga from your room in a clear day.

If you are in search of an off beat destination in Darjeeling this is a good option for you. This is inside Sonada forest-Senchal wildlife sanctuary, part of a small village. We were little late to reach the place. We took a short walk enjoyed the places around. Residents of the village have small farms with full of mustard plants, flowers vegetables etc. Every corner of the walk was ready to give us superb views. The sleeping buddha range was party visible due to semi cloudy weather of the day.
Our host Chetan, and his mother never let us feel that we are not in home. The food was very good. We had rice, pulses, mashed potato with egg, egg curry, fried cauliflower as lunch. Every item was fresh and homemade and the smell of making it in wood's oven makes it even more unique. Sleeping budha range is visible even from the dining room. Tea was served with freshly made momos at the evening. Dinner was roti, chicken, fried potato.again all fresh and homemade.
Room was okay including washroom with geyser. Its not possible to expect luxury in such a place but it has everything to spend night, day while all the windows will give you picture perfect views of mountain range.
The place is safe even for a solo woman traveler. Overall it was a good experience.

Chetan vaiya is a very helpful person, he is so friendly.he was arranged a car from sonada and breakfast (without extra cost) at 7am where as check in time is 12pm, for this Thanks again.aunty is also awsm.view room is beautiful.you can see kanchanjhangha from your bed.food is too tasty.they served chicken momo also because I love it.they always pamper me as their family member.chatakpur is a wonderful place.visit again.

Awesome place. Very homely atmosphere in this Homestay. Very familiar. Feel very nice. Must visit again. Specially K2 view from here just awesome. Sunrise and sunset fatafati. Food quality superb. Enjoying the beauty of Chatakpur from here just superb.

Nice homestay, I honestly prefer this homestay for a perfect kanchanjanga view and warm hospitality of the homestay and it's situated on top of the chatakpur and ner from view point.

Chetan is a very good guy, and he is very helpful too. He and his mother run this homestay. They are very cordial to their guests.

A serene tranquil hamlet where one can find eternal peace. The family with whom we stayed were very warm hearted and though they face a lot of difficulty but they try to provide maximum comfort to their guests. The food served their was prepared from the vegetables of their organic farm

The experience of Chatakpur visit was enhanced by the warm hospitality of Phurba and Sangeeta.the lovely couple and the owners of this home stay.we never felt that we were somewhere out in an unknown place.the location of the homestay is one of the best in the area.n lastly the food cooked by Sangeeta was lip smacking.a very warm and welcoming family.highly recommended.

Very nice staying. Arranging food as per their capacity, although a little more facility would be appreciating. Fantastic experience the journey of 8km through the dense forest.
