Lovely enclosed sanctuary with a beautiful dense woodland and picturesque trails. Spent a short time here in the evening but a long walk during the morning is likely to provide much enjoyment. Look out for the three species of resident barbets, the delightful White-throated Fantail, and migratory thrushes in winter.
Beautiful place. Different varieties of birds and butterflies are available here. It is suggested to maintain silence in this sanctuary. Disturbing birds by using fake calls is also prohibited here.

Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary (CKBS), also known as Kayal-r Bagan, is a bird sanctuary located in West Bengal, India, south of Kolkata. This garden is famous for its wide variety of birds, butterflies, ferns and orchids. It was given sanctuary status in 1982. Before then, it was originally a large mango garden with huge mango trees. The government of West Bengal took the initiative to make it open to the public and acquired it from private owners in October 2005. On 8 September 2004 it was named Narendrapur Wildlife Sanctuary, and on 21 October 2005 it was renamed Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary, in honour of celebrated sculptor Chintamoni Kar, who had for many years fought relentlessly to give the "kayaler bagan" status for the sanctuary.
Nice place for birds watching.best time to visit here in winter.cost of tickets is rs 120.there is no canteen inside. Better to carry water bottle with you.
It is a good place to visit if you want a jungle feel. But please avoid visiting in summer and especially monsoon season. You can hear chirping of many birds but spotting them is hard. You can see many butterflies and one or two monitor lizards. Please bring insect repellent and wear shoes suitable for woods. I felt that the entry fee is a bit too high.
