Years ago it had its glorious days. Five years back I had the good fortune to taste its sada rabri. It was unforgettable. But now it has discontinued the sada rabri. Instead I took its Rosogolla which turned out to be ordinary. It is no more a preferred destination for special quality top of the rung sweets.
Another century old sweet shop in the narrow lanes of typical north calcutta, a part of the city which is famous for originating most of the best sweet shops. Small shop, can be identified easily being at the three road crossing. Staffs are well behaved & courteous. Most of the sweets are mouth watering though two special items are Madhuporko & Rasogollah. Madhuporko is available in four flavours & it tastes gooood. Not like curd, not like ice creams, Madhuporko is like Madhuporko. Rasogollah is a charm here. Mouth melting, not oversweetened yet delicious. I personally like Rasogollah here than another famous outlet in the city for the same. Overall liked the shop & sweets here.
I visited this place week ago i just tried RASOGULLA, sondesh and take MADHUPORKA, the best part is the taste of sondesh which very soft and very light RASOGULLA was MOTHWATERING Very soft.lastly for MADHUPORKA i cant differentiate it as a custard or dahi or puding it is quit unique in taste and name. Quality of products are good and very hygiene. It is a traditional sweets shop which is running over 100 years at the same place, They don"t have any other branch in kolkata which make them unique. The owner and the staffs are very polite. Many customer take parcel for their belonging out of country. Must visit place for sweets lover
Authentic Bengali sweets can be found here. They take orders for all events or occasions. It is situated near shyambazar A V school, nearest metro station is Sovabazar. Special sweets are Madhuparko, priced at 25 per piece, available in 4 variants, vanilla, elaichi, orange and chocolate. Rasogolla is also very nice and must try.
It is near A V School, located in bagh bazar area. One of the Kolkata's indigenous sweet shop. Please don't measure by but size, personally I like their lot of sweets because it's not over powering for my palate. Must try items: Rosogolla and Madhuporko. It is very difficult to say what is Madhuporko and how it taste, Madhuporko is like Madhuporko. There is nothing taste like this one. On top of that the owner behaviour is wonderful and they suggest the best, don't try to push-sell. A recommended place to visit in Kolkata.
Some of the best rosogollas and kanchagolla (varieties of Bengali sweets) I have tasted in Kolkata. Go around 10 in the morning to have the hot rosogolla.
Famous for premium sweets especially 'rasogollas' with variation in color, taste and ingredients. Products are worth the price. Shop is located near Shyambazar Anglo Vernacular School and have a noticable storefront.
A good shop for Bengai sweets. Excellent quality and taste of Chamcham, Sandesh, Rosogolla etc. In appearance the shop looks an ordinary small shop. But taste of Bengali sweets here is top quality.
