Chowdhury House - Wedding houses in kolkata

We were there today as invited to Gujarat Tourism programme. Excellent banquet facilities and food was really awesome. Located just near Ballygunge Phari crossing at the heart of South Kolkata.

In shabby condition and stinking like hell.

Lost the aroma of yesteryears where legendary icons performed.

Restoration with right intention can be the only key to salvage.

The place is just amazing with a soothing environment. A huge place with well behaving staffs and very neat and tidy rooms along with well maintained washrooms.

Best place for Birthday, marriage ceremony and office meeting. Connectivity with Bus, Auto is good. Nearest metro station jatin das park.

The Hall can accommodate around 500 people. The ambience is really good. The location is good but the entrance road is really congested with parking. The service is good but the AC is not adjustable, I mean if there are 500 people the AC temperature should be a little low like 16 to 18 ° to avoid suffocation, but what I noticed is that it can't be less than 22°, we were a little frustrated with the situation. 1 very important thing the quality of the speakers are really average. They should work on that as well.
Local people are helpful.

Service good, specious, lift facility and delicious food by the own catering facility. Perfect place for a marriage ceremony.

Very nice place with a big open area nd a huge hall, with vallet parking facities, which is very very nice over here. Food is also good.

Wonderful venue for any small or big events. This place also converts itself into a Paradise of stars from the music, dance and theatre worlds of India when they host their annual music dance and theatre festivals.
December is the time for their 5 day long music festival where stellar music and dance artists of IC Dance and music come from all over India and the globe to perform.

One of the Best in Kolkata, as per my knowledge.
Excellent Quality arrangement, service and Food.
Hope for the same statuses to be continued in future also to get one of the Best and enjoyable all services.

We went for reception party. Ambiance was nice but taste and quality of the food was not that good.

Great ambience, people are there were enjoying moreover due to the arrangements like live music shehnai etc was very authentic and food was also pretty good.
Last but not the least the occasion was marriage ceremony of Isha daughter of Mahadev Chakraborty who himself was playing perfect role of not only father also a great person altogether played the perfect host altogether certainly with the ambience.

I was exploring wedding venues fir my friend and so ended up here. Location is good. And venue is also good specially ground floor (with little bit of openess) and top floor (with terrace).
But, we didn't booked it because of our number of guests and we needed more open space.

Located near to the main road, little costly but a great place to host any large scale function e.g. Marriages, Office Parties. The staff is too good, well trained and they provide their own catering services. There are changing rooms and rest rooms, clean and spacious. The banquet hall is quite large, divided into two parts, one for dining and the other for gatherings. Has 3 gates, each gate opens into a different banquet hall, so as to accomodate multiple clients at the same time.

We recently attended a wedding reception party at Chowdhury House, Ballygunge hosted by our neighbour- Shri Shiben Dutta. It was a very well organised event & the arrangements were superb. Highly recommended. However; Im sharing one incident After returning from the party, my wife found one of her gold ear rings missing. I called up our host & informed & asked that if by any chance they can find it. Losing all hope as she might have lost in in transit from the venue back home were feeling dejected. To our surprise next day our host came with the ring & informed that the staff at Chowdhury House had found & returned the ring. Im really thankful to the host & Chowdhury House management & entire staff for reinstating that honesty is still alive. I sincerely appreciate and lost for words on how we can thank them.

It was lovely to attend my uncle's reception at Chowdhury house.entire hospitality along with catering services, ambience were too good. But in my view they need to focus on cleanliness of washroom area during ongoing event.

Chowdhury house is a good banquet, the location is good.although this is not only used for wedding it is also used for other functions.the toilets are good.the hall is not much large but enough for weddings and other functions also there is an open area outside.
