Just a bit dull in appearance. Should improve Interiors. The waiters are always peeping towards you which makes it bit uncomfortable at times.

Best Chinese food outlet/franchise in the town. One of the Oldest Indo-Chinese cuisine server.

Chung wah is great in terms of food. But the mindset is terribly disappointing. In 2023 they are highly biased against a group of males.
Cabin is a unique experience of this resto. I came from far hyderabad to experience it. But the management refused cabin saying its reserved only for families.

This is the last time i will ever come here.

If you are looking for a chinese food in affordable price and pocket friendly bar- menu - then It can be your choice. One of the Kolkata's oldest bar cum restaurant. It is one of the popular joints in central Kolkata. Moreover, if you are a pork lover then you must try their signature dish " chilly pork".

Welp all I can say that every pork platter in this restaurant is value for money. By all means I'll must recommend you atleast try the pork chilli. Its just great

Moreover the bar section is quite reasonable too.

If you are looking for pork platters in affordable prices I'll absolutely recommend you this place.

Nice for hangout.however they should maintain criteria for the tips. As the Waiters always demands extra. Although they have good varieties of food and alchohol choices.

Okay place with rustic food and cheap booze. The atmosphere is serviceable. I mean, it's a food joint at the office area, so expect to see uncles drinking and eating some chilli items after a hard day of work

Nothing much to expect, if you are tight on budget and want to have some Chinese and booze (why though?), Go to Chungwa.

However, expect to see a rat running beneath your table on rare occasions.

Good place to have authentic chinese dishes. Reasonable price, nice ambience. Retro flavour of old Kolkata, where you may have admission to cabins only if you have a lady with you.

Food quality is decent. But the behaviour of the staff is so terrible. They took approx 200/- rs.tip forcibly. They gave us a reason that it was Sunday. So they took it. Terrible experience.

A lovely Christmas afternoon spent with friends at a not so savvy yet delightful old world charming place located in the old neighborhood s of the city, Chung Wah boasts of their lovely Chinese cuisines specially pork! We had the Chilly and roasted versions along with a fish variation, all of which were delectable. The decor goes with the old world charm ambience and brings into life the imagery of Chinese Eating Houses, there are cabins going with the mood of old eateries of Kolkata from the golden days.the cabins are also named after works of famous Bengali Authors
All in all a lovely afternoon!

One of the most vfm pork joint I've visited so far. This much quantity at very nominal price. And the taste was too good.
If you take one rice/noodles and one chilli pork, it would be enough for two persons.

Food was good. Cabins are cozy (a bit cleanliness is required though). Service is also good. However the waiters demanded for tip! Which is quite unwelcome as tip is something we offer, we do not expect somebody to demand it.

Wow! I mean this place exemplifies why people who search for ambience when dining know jack s*** about food. The pork dishes are incredible. However the chilli chicken is just a bit too good.

Go here with a group of friends, order some beer and the chilli chicken and enjoy the vibe. This is old calcutta personified. I just hope they keep it as is. Cannot stop recommending this place. Incredible!

The ambience is definitely lively, but not overly flattering though. The prices are reasonable enough. The food is worth dying for.and you get complimentary condiments for buying alcohol. Neat place for dining in, taking out.

Was Once a favourite place for me. The service and the workers have brought down the standards of this restaurant to the absolute bottom.

Visited this place more out of nostalgia for roasted chilli pork and cold beer, but was disappointed. The chilli pork wasn't that good and the time between ordering the food and getting it on the table was long enough for me to get out of the nostalgia train and see for what Chung Wah has turned out to be. Charm-less, broken run down version of its past.

Great place to enjoy with. The staffs are cazz only some staffs are very frequent but you can enjoy your time with your friend and special one also.

Food is no doubt good. We ordered chilly pork, schezwan pork, dry chilli chicken and mixed noodles. All of them were great. But the behaviour of staff is somewhat reluctant. I Asked whether they have any other pork item. He literally told me ' you had 2 pork items, what else do you want? '. So we had to leave early as we found them unwilling. Otherwise everything is good. Despite all on a positive approach, staff behaviour can make the summation towards negative. That is for sure.

The ambiance reminds me of old Kolkata vibes, the food is really amazing. Ordered Pork fried rice, along with Roast pork mushroom bamboo shoots and Crispy chilli baby corn. The quantities were well balanced and for the price both the quality and quantity were just too good to handle. The service is also very fast.

A very traditional and famous restaurant for mainly Chinese food. Very prompt and courteous service at the heart of the city

I would say one the hidden gem of Kolkata. Old chinese restaurant. Go for any pork dishes, all of them are good. Although doe expect premium service or quality. This place is for light booze and pocket loving food. Enjoy your weekends here.

Highly recommended resturant especially the fried rice and sweet and sour chicken and also the baby corn.

Food quality & services are good, friendly staff & prices are reasonable. But the ladies washroom should be cleaned & hygienic. Hygiene quality should be modified. The anathor thing which I must besbe that before leaving the table staffs demand is not justified. They demand minimum Rs. 100 /. For tips which is not acceptable.

Food is good but there is no hospitality in this restaurant.bar tender ask u to tip them more even if you give them enough!
I have given them 50 bucks but he's asking me to tip 100! Who does that?

I love this place, the staffs are very cordial and the rate is also nominal. This is our go to place for friends and family.

Okay okay. Not well decorated. Not very clean. Budget friendly. Good for group hangout and long gossip.

I didn't like the restaurant at all. All the items we ordered were too much salty and the place was unhygienic, especially the ladies washroom. I will not recommend the place unless somebody wants a drink in an affordable price.

Vibe is good. The restaurant is neat and clean. I've tasted Pork Fried Rice which is good enough but Pork Schezwan is not upto that level.

Goof place. You can have your drink in general section or can have cabins also. All cabins are named to bengali movies or phrases like hotat neerar jonno, nesha, ekanta apon etc. Overall decent place.

Nice and one of oldest Bars in Kolkata. Chinese Dish are good along with the Pork preparations which is signature dish.

A well-structured restaurant with full of accommodations where one can get a personal touch. Situated at Chandni Chawk, Kolkata, opposite the E-Mall. Chiefly a Chinese restaurant. Additionally, alcohol is also available here as it is a restaurant cum bar. Food quality is nonetheless good. One can spend a quality time here in the personalized cabins also which are made separate from the main lounge.

A best place to hang out with friends. The pork here is veryy tasty with a very nominal price. Alcohol is also cheap here. It is quite old but that is the beauty of it. The washroom is not so clean. But otherwise it is very good to hang out.

Excellent place for a short dine out with family & friends. We have ordered Roasted Pork chilli which was delicious and the atmosphere was also very pleasant

Good for a beer and spending time with your group or loved ones. Private cabines are available for privacy. The food was not good. I have tried french fries, mix chowmin, fish nugget. Fish and the fries was good but the chowmin was terrible. Don't try it there.

Chinese food superb. Reasonably priced drinks. Ac available but dated and shabby interiors. Staff needs improvement. Chilli pork the best in Kolkata.

Shady place. Food is good drinks are cheap but will not suggest for family. We went there on 25th December. The place was obviously very crowded. The manager told us to go to upstairs. It was just a room with cabins. Surprisingly the waiter told us that we have 1 hour. Now I went with my wife and was surprised to hear about the one hour rule.anyways we were in hurry so did not pay heed to it.
Anyways the other customers there were shouting and passing abusive comments among themselves.
So it is strictly not for family

If I could, I would give this restaurant a negative grade. I along with my fiance who is a respected doctor and regular customer of Chung Wah went there today. We were seated in a cabin and when we were ordering our food we asked our attendant to serve some of the dishes then as some of our friends were coming and we were planning to order some more when they'd arrive. Hearing this, our attendant suddenly started behaving in a very rude manner and said that they don't allow to seat in a cabin for than one hour. We then politely asked that as my fiance is a regular customer and he used to seat there for 2 3 hours and pays decent bill amount, he never faced any such issues before. We even suggested that as some of our friends were coming, after one hour we will pay the bill and re enter as it is obviously not possible to finish eating within one hour. But he continued with his amazingly rude behavior (even shouted at us). After that, we requested them to serve our food, they didn't even listen to us one by one other attendants came and started humiliating us with their rude behavior. After all these, we left and talked to the manager, who hosted us to a cabin but here also before even we have ordered anything, they started yelling at us that after one hour we have to vacate our cabin. Now my question if that is the rule of this restaurant we would definitely vacate our cabin after one hour but my fiance is a regular customer and he was never asked to vacate after one hour, now they were telling us that the rule was made 2 years ago. How is that even possible. If that is true then why didn't they tell us the same on other days.finally we left. Now, as a language partner of American Institute of Indian Studies Kolkata and a respected doctor we have been to many restaurants and food joints in this city, but never faced such humiliation as we faced today by the attendants and manager's behavior. We were seated in a pretty decent manner, If they have an CCTV it can be proved that we have never raised our voice or do anything improper or indecent but even after such behavior from such an well known place is very very disheartening and disappointing to say the least.

This is an old restaurantand bar.but stuff was horrible, manager was also very unprofessional.they want you to bill thousandper hour, if your are not doing so they started humiliation of custome.if you are a woman they started more humiliation.don't go there

Still one of the budget friendly restaurant in Kolkata with a beautiful balance between the old glory and the present fight, this place has everything one can demand. And it's a place still with a private cabin facility

Old restaurant cum bar located at Chadnichowk metro station on central Avenue. One of the most popular destinations for college people and office personnel. Though the ambiance is very old type one. It has old cabin systems in ground floor.

One of those old old restuarants and bar of kolkata. A good place to hang out with friends. They have private cabins for when you have women companions. The rate is still reasonable. Not all premium level booze is available. If I had to suggest something, i love to have chilli pork dry and beer here. The staff behaviour is not that great and they are never satisfied with the amount of tip you give therfore the less 2 stars.

Was better before. Day to day, its degrading its food quality and the the price are on the top. Behavior from staffs and Butler arent good either.

Great place for a few drinks with friends. The place is a hit with college goers & working class as well. Post 5pm, people drop in groups for a quick drink. Food & drinks are reasonably priced. Pork lovers will love the amazing ROASTED CHILLI PORK dish: it’s damn good. Other Chinese preparations are equally good. Try to avoid Indian preparations.
