CREATIVE & UNIQUE SALOON / WBFDC Jholung River Camp

We were in a VIP room. Rooms were huge and spacious. Bathrooms were enormous. Food was delicious, views were soothing. Easy access to the flowing river.but generator was not available.

This resort is under West Bengal Forest Department. The location is awsome. Word is not enough to explain the beauty of the resort. You can spend time by sitting beside the river side touching foot in the river water.

It is a hidden gem of a property on the bank of river Jhalong under the management of WBFDC.

The property is located on a huge expanse situated right on the river bank. Guests can just sit on their balcony & listen to the sweet sound of river flowing & birds chirping. Each cottage is located at a fair distance from each other, giving each it's own privacy. The rooms are well built & nicely furnished with geyser & AC. Also management has started to renovate all rooms in a phased manner. The linens provided were clean & toiletries were of standard make & adequate.

The property has a canteen/restaurant which offers standard food but wholesome & tasty food, but options are limited & orders have to be placed early. The only concern is that as a town person, most of us may feel a little worried at the lack of security around the property. In the night time only a security guard is supposed to be available though we couldn't locate him. But as the locals will say & also as experienced (touchwood) - we had nothing to worry.

People who like to enjoy amazing views, witness great
natural beauty, sit on the balcony and enjoy the sound of the flowing river along with chirping birds should only consider this property.

Great experience, rooms to be booked prior through WBFDC website and staff are really nice and cooperative, as it's in a remote area all payments (food and water) to be done by cash.

Location, ambience, food and all the staff was pretty good. Rooms are also spacious and well equipped. Bathrooms are also good.

WBFDC Jhalong River Camp is very good to stay. Staff behaviour, Food quality, room quality is very good. Location and nature view awesome. BSNL working properly and Jio some time. Other network fully not available. Can stay with family, friends etc.

We spent 2N in this prestine resort amidst raw nature and pure Jhalong River. Stayed at Super Deluxe Cottages, the room, washroom, linen, curtains are top class, you can't expect more in such secluded offbeat location. Food was homely, but slightly oily. But everything can be excused when you sit in the cottage verandah - Must Visit!

Great place for solitude and healing sound of mountain spring is awesome, will heal you inside out.

Rooms were clean and wel maintained. As per tarrif it's great resort for family/couple outing in serenity of lush green forest and river side camp experience.

All staff are friendly and make you feel at home, must visit canteen for tea and food, food was healthy and hygienic and conversation was great.
Esp mention: food was affordable. Just you will have to order earlier as they hav to arrange frm the nearby market.

Superb vacation spending place, amidst river u can enjoy night in newly made cottage resort.u will love the beautiful landscape but should be very careful.

Awesome place. Serene, peaceful, soft music of running water by the side of your cottage. Must visit. You can also bath in the jhora running along side the camp

Tremendously good ambience for a stay. The soothing sound of the river, the chilly weather and the sound of the jungle are mesmerizing together.

One of the best river side place in the bengal. There are 4 cottages with basic amenities and food quality is also good. People may feel the nature at its best. Don't go to water if u r not good in swimming. Surrounded by mighty himalaya and alpine forest, this camp is a heaven for nature lovers. Serenity is the other name of this place.

Jhalong is a quaint village sited along the river side of Jaldhaka. It is located near the Indo- Bhutan border on the way to Bindu River.  Camping along the river bank of Jaldhaka is a famous activity here. The dam on the river Jaldhaka creates an ideal ambiance for the growth of avifauna attracting many migratory birds towards Jhalong, making it a birding paradise for the avid bird watchers. Some of the birds spotted in Jhalong are Eurasian Wryneck, Crested Kingfisher, Brown Dipper, Hodgson's Redstart, Salty-backed Forktail, Little Forktail and Rufous-necked laughingthrush. The adventure enthusiast can partake in some of the activities which Jhalong offers like angling, rock climbing, camping and trekking.

Simply Fantastic. If you want to embrace nature at its purest form, this is the place.a crystal clear river, jungle and hills on all sides and only you amidst this. Photographs don't do justice to this place. Stay here for a day or two to feel the true essence of this place

I wanna get back to this place as soon as possible. It's a hidden treasure. Only request to all who will visit, please keep it clean and quiet. You will thank yourself only

Very nice lonely place to stay. Restaurant is there but they prepare foods on request. Rooms are large packed with modern facilities.

Nice place for relaxation.if you want to enjoy nature with your family or friends then you can choose this place

One of my favourite spot.it's situated exactly border between India and Bhutan.landscape of river according with green mountain removes all stress.

The water flowing through rocks will give you the most soothing experience. At night, the campfire is accompanied by sound of water and one can see the stars while lying on the rocks.

Excellent location. Big, nice, clean rooms with modern facilities. Cooperative and friendly staffs, very good home like food. Loved it. Will go in future once again.
