The quantity of the biriyani is very good. Though the rice seems dry. The mutton size is good. But who doesn't like fat in the meat, they will not like it
Its really embarassing to take anyone for lunch or dinner as you will not get proper sitting place and ac are only for show and the most worst thing is that the quality of the biriyani which is exactly same as the roadside biriyani shop even there taste are better.price doesn't match with food quality
The place is overhyped and overrated, the food wasn't justified according to the price.the service isn't that good.had to wait over an hour and worst of all when we asked to pack our food, the server was soo rude and asked us to do it ourself.
The service was excellent, the atmosphere was okay okay because of lesser space. Now coming to the main part, the Biryani: The rice was awesome, the taste was near to premium but not quite premium. But the mutton could have been more boiled and softer and the same goes for potato, could have been boiled more. In short, the Biryani was quite good but still D Bapi can't be compared with Dada boudi's biryani.
I also took a liver fry, and it was more than awesome.
Best biriyani in West Bengal, India, everybody should try at onece in his lifetime.basically i'm from proper kolkata, i hv so many best known renouned biriyani option, but i truly said without any hesitation the D BAPI biriyani is bestest biriyani in west bengal.the owner (uncle & aunty) is very much down to earth, and the staff is very polite.i raised a staff name KRISHNA, he has so much patience, humble, good manners to handling customers. Without any hesitation, please must visit and try their delicacy, otherwise u will be regreat. Thanks me later.
Best biriyani in Barrackpore visited this place many times not even once did this place let down with its quality nor with its mutton size, on the other hand its competitor dadaboudi is overly hyped, u ll get biriyani according to ur luck some times good sometimes very average
Amazing experience even during puja days. Though it was quiet rushy, the food quality was quite decent. The hero without any doubt was the succulent piece of mutton. Recommended.
Very dry biryani, rice was very aromatic with kewra water, rose water, mutton piece was good but average in taste and the biryani potato was tasting like just any normal boiled potato, no flavor of biryani masala was there. Overall not a good experience.
Food quality is good but eating experience there is so bad.so congested to eat there. Sitting arrangement is very bad.so took your good and eat elsewhere.
Ambiance is not good but if you desperate enough, you might want to go and check it out. Taste of biryani is not consistent. The last time i had it, it was overflowing with meetha attar.
I was aware about D Bapi biriyani quite a longtime. It was awesome when I tasted for the first time a year back. Few days back I suddenly had a plan and went for it. Me and my wife had a late lunch here. Biriyani quality is average and no taste of masala at all. Just a fine rice having chicken or mutton pieces. No smell and no masala simple biriyani. What I don't like is small plate and over quantity which cannot adjust properly. I would like to recommend a better size as per the quantity they are actually providing. Quantity is really good. Salad with green chatni as a side menu with Biriyani is complimentary item and if you need more salad they will provide it no extra cost. I forgot to take some photos which I will post definitely sometime later.
Biriyani was value for money no doubt. Not too spicy it was a bit light, but I prefer a bit spicy may increase it's taste, though good nd that chicken piece. A must try
With much expectations me and my friend went there today. We order 3 mutton biriyani and two chicken chap. Portion was very very good. Mutton pieces were humongous as well as the chicken in the chap. Now come to taste. Well for me it wasn't biriyani at all, it was some kind of flavoured rice with mutton and potato. I asked for solid mutton piece and that was extremely hard and chewy. The rice lacks flavour of biriyani, in fact the flavour was very very light and the taste was kind off odd. Chap was also not cooked properly, lacks salt. The only thing that was good, was the staff behavior. They came to ask us whether we were satisfied with the mutton pieces and all. One good point is they will give you extra rice if you ask for it. But overall my experience was very bad. I'll definitely not go there ever again.
Previously i rated it 5* but recently after tasting i feel disheartened coz the biriyani was not up to the mark but that time i felt that it may be due to i get the lower end of the handi coz its a bit oily than general and the spices are too much, to confirm the quality i tried it 1 day after subsequently and specific about my order to not give too much oily rice then tried it, but disheartened again to see the quality is not the same as before. May be due to change of chefs or anything may be the reason. But as a biriyani lover and a big fan of D BAPI BIRIYANI feeling a bit disappointed. Thank you.
3 stars for the hygeine part. Food quality and quantity are both sufficient. In today's date, this is a better biriyani house than dada boudi. The flavour is sober and the food perfume does not bite back to ur smelling senses. Generous portion of meat. Cost is moderate as you get a descent size meal for wat u pay, compared to rest of the eateries in the area serving biriyani.
Biriyani with average taste, portion is good, packaging is average. And going to their shop location isn't much convenient. Surrounding area isn't very safe @ night time. So overall rating is average.
Biryani taste good, alu adequately boiled, but their main highlight is mutton. Mutton size is large but I would say, their mutton is not the best considering the price! They are charging ₹240 for a plate of mutton biryani. At this price I would expect better mutton
Being a non ac restaurant, it is a lovely place. They provide extra piece of potato and biriyani if you need so with out extra charge. The waiters are always mercurial to help you. I am not giving it 5 stars because, I saw the manager (a youngster sitting on payment department) was behaving rudely with a customer for a silly mistake.
Good place for Tasty Biriyani. Mutton size was good. But chicken biriyani was prepared separately, like if you order chicken biriyani you will get the rice from Biriyani and the chicken from "Chaap". But overall taste and all ok
Good quality less oily without dalda mutton biriyani 220 chicken biriyani 170 alu biriyani 100 chicken chap 110 mutton liver kosha 130 all rates are competitive
If you are craving for good biriyani, D Bapi is the Restaurant you must visit.unlike other restaurants, D Bapi focuses on Good food rather than fancy decoration to attract customers.
I can't explain in one word how awesome the food over here. I will definitely recommend this place. Go & have a try chicken biriyani with chicken chaap. The price is just perfect according to their quality & quantity if food.
Too sticky oily biriyani.it is made with dalda which causes the food so sticky oily.it tastes good.but not healthy.clearly saying d. Bapi's quality is comparable to 60rs/80rs biriyani.
