Dilip Da Tea Shop

One of the historical and heritage tea shop of South Kolkata at thd juntion of Southern Avenue towrds Tollygunj phari. But the glory has faded away. But the quality has somehow still remained.

We used to be frequent here. Years went like numbers only. The place and the standard remained the same.

Good tea, lot of customers who go there to have tea. Sunday evening closed. Good bengali adda place over a hot mud pot of tea.

Heard a lot about this shop. Today we were there to have some toast. We ordered 1 cheese toast, 1 special toast and 1 butter toast. The cheese toast test was not good, though the special one was amazing, but the size and shape of butter toast was just unacceptable. We told them immediately but they do not bother. Considering the size, a butter toast of 2pc.at 24/- is just unjustified

Preparation style- In a pot of black tea they add one tea spoon of milkmaid. I wanted to taste it because someone said it's super awesome. It was the opposite.

Its been around for quite some time. Was probably thr first shop, atleast in South Kolkata, to make tea with Milkmaid.
It was quite a success and the owner seems to have made a good living out of it.
However, like many others, I doubt if he could handle the little success he got.
Very arrogant attitude and indifferent behaviour.
The paan shop next to his shop makes as good tea with milkmaid if not better and the behaviour is a million times better!

Pathetic taste of tea. And moreover Very rude behavior of a Chai Wala. Thinks himself to be equivalent to NM. In his wildest dreams. And
