Gariahat Market is shopping heaven but needs to be organized more. Walking space in the alleys is very narrow and disturbing too. There is no scope for a person looking at the hawkers stuff and other people pushing by. The hawkers should be given better facility to display their stuff. Rains make it difficult to walk around.
Best place for Shopping. Many varieties of goods and foods are available. Best for time spending. Pocket friendly budget. But you have bargaining skill.
It's a good place for marketing house hold items and clothes and etc, but foot market is not fixed price you can do bargaining you should start your price from 30 to 40% of the said price.
It's a really busy place. Crowded. And one of the famous place in the city of joy kolkata. Lots of street shop as well as shopping malls situated here. All time gathering of people.
A famous place for roadside cheap value as well as standard shopping of all sorts and variety. Too much crowded and busy always. Need to bargain too much starting from 1/3 to 1/2 depending on the item for roadside sellers / hawkers. But quality is compromised as per price paid. Other shops renowned for their old business are also there. Better option would be New Market / Esplanade area.
One of the best Markets in Kolkata to buy all type of household items starting from clothes, bags, jewellery to kitchen items. You need to be a skillful bargainer to buy items at reasonable prices
Gariahat market situated at the crossing of Gariahat Road and Rashbehari Avenue is the best shopping zone where one can get innumerable varieties of items at pocket friendly prices. This market remains crowded even on weekdays as well but on Sundays majority shops are closed except some of the roadside shops which remain open.
Gariahat is one of my favourite place. I like to visit many times this place because many of my friends, relatives frequently visit gariahat so we always meet there. Today I visited gariahat to purchase some woollen clothes. All shops were full of woollen ready-made garments. Staff of the shops were very busy in their work. Visiting gariahat is always a very pleasant & enjoyable, because we purchase many things & eat some of our tasty foods.
Really a very nice place. Here the city life is full of vitality. The market has a incomparable beauty. Just stalls after stalls. People are very friendly. I love this place

Gariahat more is a shopping place. Under the flyover there is a Chess Club, a Carrom Club. Evenings people hang around there and 'adda marro' (chattting on various topics).
It's a good place for those who are shopaholic. Here you will get everything from scratch.
For clothing you can go to marts like bazaar kolkata, city style, m bazaar etc. Also it has a huge street shop row which can meet your ask. This market is rich for women and girls as you will find so many shops of dresses, bags and different ornaments. And you can easily bargain here with your bargaining skill.
Because it is a vast market people also come here for books, gifts, frames, toys and so many other things.
It has a different grocery and daily essential market where consumer can buy daily essential good.
Because there are few colleges are present around this market, you will get food stalls everywhere near market. From rolls to momos you are going to have lots of options.
So I suggest you to pay a visit here. Overall it's a good place.
Once it was a prime shopping destination in South Kolkata, both for valuables and less expensive. Nowadays there are many Shopping malls at all sides of Kolkata, but still I think those who were used to shop from here may continue to do show not only for nostalgia but for their choices. It is also a favourite strolling place for teenagers, lovers and couples with proximity of Ballygunge Lake in South.
Very busy intersection, awesome place for shopping and every other kind of consumer activities. Located at a continent place, with Balleygunge Jn and Kalighat Metro being within 10 minutes distance from it. Not to mention constant bus traffic to everywhere in Kolkata
A very busy and important junction in Kolkata. This place is marked by the presence of big and branded shops of garments, sarees, electronic goods, ornaments, food stalls etc
One of the most famous and popular crossing of south Calcutta and the busiest also. One strech is going towards Ballygunge railway station. Another one is towards famous Golpark. The other two are Park circus seven point crossing and the other is towards Rashbehari crossing. In festival like Durga pujo the place is famous shopping destination of various shops. In bengali new year known as "Subho Nababarsho " the place is also famous for shopping in a discounted price.
