Excellent colonial era restaurant. Great western food. My last Darjeeling trip was mainly because I wanted to eat there!

Eatery is very good considering not much breakfast option in Darjeeling. Tea is superb n service is superb. Recommend it

Overrated made by insta reels. Food was just okay. Burger was so dry, I had order a coke to gulp it down.
Only the roof top sitting is good for pictures.

The most bakar place in Darjeeling. I prefer never visit there.staf are very bad in maneres.never ever wana go there

Extremely crowded if you are planning to go during meal hours. Food quality is very good, nothing exceptional though. Prices are in higher side.
But if you are in for continental food, this is must visit. Try the signature big breakfast, it's worth and available all through the day

Best place to get freshly baked pastries and non veg pies, you can enjoy the best view of the mountain range from their veranda while having a snack.

A great place to buy bakery stuff, hang out, or indulge in some live music during weekends. Located in the middle of the bustling Mall Road, the surroundings are always super crowded.

It’s quite inviting given the bakery goods adorning the shop's entrance. Not only that, they taste equally good. While in Darjeeling, I visited each day to have a go at the fresh bakery stuff.

We also tried the basement pub, with India vs New Zealand playing on the screen which India won after a long drought. It was a good time with some good cocktails.

Huge and delicious collection of bakery items. One must visit, if in Darjeeling. The best part of the Bakery is one can collect the items taking a basket just like we do in super market. So it's a super market of cookies, cakes and pastries. One can dine in there.

Awesome experience, having a hot cup of coffee with kanchanjunga by the side. They have installed nice heater to make you feel comfortable in that chilling place. I would suggest to try their pizza (thin crust pizzas) is just sumptuous. Pizza and coffe price is decent. Though we had tried some bakery items as well did not find them extra ordinary. We found staff behaviour good and fast service.

The ambience of this place is outstanding. I highly recommend anyone coming to Darjeeling to visit this place. The service is fast, the food tastes good.

Great ambiance, good view but unsatisfactory food. For the price they charge the bakery items I expected better quality.
Muffins were dry, Paris Brest was not sweet enough, Eclairs was dry and did not have enough filling
Hot chocolate was powdery but if that is fine with you, the taste was good

All in all, go for the experience and the time but not for the food

Food at this place is the worst to eat. Ordered french fries. It was fried in the same pan where the fish was cooked previously. The French fries had the smell of fish on them. Ordered veg noodles. Turned out to be oily. Ambience is good for photos, nothing else is good for this place.

Your visit to Darjeeling cannot be complete without visiting this wonderful eatery. Great service, greater food!

As a part of darjeeling attraction it is one of the best places. Bakery items are no doubt one of the best items. Rest food is so so. But atmosphere, people, service, location, experience everything is super.

It can give a tight competition to any cafe in foreign. It is quite popular worldwide even. I loved very much.

Great location, this spot has a lot of history however apart from its great bakery products other food and beverage are average at best.

Absolutely in love with this place - fireplace, open area, continental food, spicy food, indian food, great bakery option from in-house option, live rock music in the evening to set your food, seperate pub area, view from Kanchenjunga and many more.
Most importantly, if you are in Darjeeling you will have an pic in glenary most fous location from its podium

Worst food possible. I too read online reviews and went to Glenary’s for some good food. The ambience and overall decorations are nice tbh, however, the food was truly horrible.

We took Chicken Cheese Burger and Chicken Roast Sandwiche - both were equally worst. We couldn’t even finish and left out the food.

We tried a couple of bakery items though (mostly deserts) - those were above average.
Also.the service was super slow and the waiter was annoyed by us the whole time.

In general, we had a bad experiences here and I don’t recommend trying any food (except bakery items)

This has turned out to be a heritage landmark of Darjeeling more than just a food joint. The woody ambiance gives you the European vibes and along with thrilling views of the hilly town. Food & drinks are a bit costly as compared to the quality and service. Liked the breads and bakery items though. But quantity wise, it is sufficient. Be sure to visit at early evening (6 pm) to avoid the crowd and waiting.

A lovely place to spend some quality time with self. The bar is very good and worth mentioning. The only drawback i found is that the service is too slow at busy hours. Had chilly pork which was tasty but it was more of the pork fat than the meat. Further on i had chilly beef which was perfectly cooked and very well tender. Both the time i visited this place, the drinks never disappointed me.

The view from the top is mesmerizing. The food is delicious. Also the accessories you can buy from here are also great. Overall, my experience is great.

Terrible food, terrible service and overpriced. This place is overrated just because it is nicely decorated and arranged.

Loved the viewing deck seating area, everything we ate here was delicious. Worth a visit for its bakery, thay you can pick up in a basket and pay for, at the very crowded counter.

Horrible, horrible food at the restaurant. Everything we ordered was tasteless. Even the roast chicken which is such a simple dish, was below average. Everything else was worse.

Even the bakery, was not extraordinary. The lemon tart was absolute tripe, and had no hint of lemon. The chocolates were good, but that was all. Everything else was well below average.
Doesn't deserve the hype. Not at all.

We went 4 times out of the 2 days we were in Darjeeling. Food & ambience are awesome. Price seems slightly high, but when compared to where I'm from it seemed reasonable. Most importantly, none of us had allergic reactions (as some of us are sensitive).

Two stars less for the food from the rooftop restaurant. I tried both; bakery for breakfast and restaurant for lunch. The bakery items were really good, but the food from the rooftop restaurant was really bad and cold. Not even taste, I would give 2-3/10 for food. The rooftop restaurant is a big downfall. My money was wasted. The Glenary's is a very famous bakery but be aware the restaurant can really damage the name that you have earned in these years. I enjoyed the bakery very much. Lot of different types of bakes were available. I specially liked the eclairs. Also the staff from the bakery is nice. The ambience is great. Overall a good place for a tourist destination.

We had breakfast on the 24th Dec here. Good warm place with the view of the snow capped Himalayas. The place is also known for its bakery items like brownies, bread, cakes

Highly overrated, not so friendly staff (maybe because of the overcrowding), the coffee Latte we ordered were too strong to drink, extra charge for butter, which we believe were unnecessary, pricing is too damn high as compared to the other cafes in the area, rather go for Kevinter's for better food quality and service even if you have to stand in a queue

Day 1: Good place! The service was a little poor! The guy singing the songs was exceptional! Had a good time!
Day2: Went in for lunch, was addressed and handed over a menu but after 15mins left as nobody was interested to take the order or serve us. As before, the service is poor!

Super improvement! The bakery just blew us! The coffee is really good. The ambience of the place makes you wanna sit and soak the evening.:)

The place was good, the food was good, one of the staff was a bit rude when asked to change table to enjoy the kanchanjunga view

Overrated place in Darjeeling. One of the worst experience. Ordered cafe latte and cappuccino, both had the same. Tasted like milk mixed with water.

Over exaggerated spot, food including meat platers are disappointing, behaviour of the staff is pathetic

The worst pastries, cha, cakes I ever had in my life. Heared a lot about them so went to have something. The shop, they've made in European style & during cold they have some nice heater installed by the balcony. One can enjoy a nice view but not a good food. I am very unfortunate to spend 5 times more money on things I had there. Never ever going back! In the name of hot chocolate they diluted some cocoa powder in hot water with tons of sugar! I hate this shop like anything! Wasted money, time during such a nice trip!

Loved the experience of the pub on a Saturday night. The music was good and so was the ambience. I previously avoided Glenery's thinking it might be a costly joint and me being a backpacker never went there previously but I was proven wrong. It's cheaper than many of the not so well known pubs in Kolkata. So I would say a must visit if one wants to know the local night life of the a group of people from Darjeeling (we might have been the only non local in there). There was a cover charge of 300 though, don't know if it's the case everyday or only the weekends. But was worth it I would say.

It is nice restaurant here in Darjeeling, the sandwich was awesome but I didn't like the hot chocolate it's too dark.

Classy fancy by look but not by people terms.all those breads labels should contain labeled as included egg or not. I have egg allergy and ate bread with egg.which lead to severe stomach pain. Some countries have strict laws for the people having allergies. I can sue you for this.

Not sure what the big fuss is about this place but here is my review -
Decor - has a beautiful colonial vibe to it, the architecture within the main restaurant is splendid.
Food - pretty average as everything has a very sweet tinge to it. And if you dislike sweetish food this place is a nightmare. The beef chilly is fantastic though. Their portion sizes are huge so one portion fits 2 people.
Staff - very hospitable.
Tip - go to the restaurant before 7 pm if you want to avoid haggling for a table. There was a huge queue at 7: 30 pm and almost saw some patrons get into a brawl (still wondering what in the world is the big fuss about Glenarys)

The ambience is awesome. Situated at the Darjeeling Mall Road, this place has oozes warmth the minute you step in. Inside you will see a bakery that will encapsulate your senses with the sweet smell of cakes. If you are lucky you will get to sit at the outside balcony.
We had a chicken club sandwich, fried bacon and hot chocolate for breakfast. Food taste was awesome. And cherry on the top is the view outside. Don't fret over cold. They have well placed heater to keep you warm. With British Colonial architecture it is a heaven for photographers. You will get atleast one Instagram dp at this place.
This place is a must visit in Darjeeling.

Missed the chance to have a meal here due to lack of time. We bought some delicious bakeries that was lovely.

Mouthwatering.and you"ll go mad for options.a tongue hanging experience.try the chicken burger which isn't really a burger but two fat chicken ground steaks in sauce with a burger bread and fries

Awesome place to be for lunch or dinner. Food is so good and the staff are so caring. I often come here with family and friends. Bakery products, sizzler, cutlet, chowmein, chopsuey are all awesome. Ambience is so nice

The place provides an elegant ambience to the mall road. An excellent place serving bakery as well as mouth watering food.

Restaurant- great place for the view, decor, and food.
Packaging-1/5.they will give you boxes like your local sweet shop, even worse.
But other than this, good place.
Prices are definitely on the higher side.

The mouth watering aroma of fresh cakes and breads, the soul puffing ambience of yeast induced bakery, the mood melting glaze of ganache topped on pastries and donuts, gives a vintage touch. Along with it, a coffee shop and a place to have full course meal is what tourists and locals probably look for. Glenary's is what every tourist wants to have in their destination, and every local wants in their locality.

150 years old, Landmark place in Darjeeling, you must try Blueberry Muffins, Darjeeling tea and in the evening you can you can have fun in their bar listening to live Rock music. A photo with the Glenary’s insignia is mandatory.

Very elegant interiors. The outdoor sitting gives you the view of the majestic Kanchenjunga. Food is excellent. The bakery is awsome and have some of the nicest muffins n cream roll i ever had. Even the chocolates are tasty and of variety. There are many kinds of breads too. They have a self serving for the bakery.

Great food. Courteous and helpful staff (unlike in another famous food joint nearby). Amazing experience. <3

Thanks to my love for food and interest in colonial history, we decided to have an early breakfast at this place. The majestic view of the mighty Kanchenjunga from the rooftop with amazing continental breakfast and a cup of cappuccino surely gave an amazing start to the day. I somehow feel a visit to Darjeeling without visiting Glenary's is kinda a incomplete.

There are so many photos of the restaurant in others reviews. So I am not again posting it.
Their food is nice. Visiting this place just to explore for 1 time is ok, otherwise, I felt it little expensive.
Must try their bakery counter.

One of the old famous nonveg Resturent & Bar in Darjeeling. They got there own Bakery also, it's just coffee shop is also there. They got open air setting arrangement also, you can enjoy seeing a part of Darjeeling with a Drink or a cup of coffee. Little bit Expensive. Food is just. Service is little bit slow.

Well the pastries and bakery items are amazing but don't go for sandwiches and hot dogs. Had the worst hot dog ever here.

Glenary's Bakery is one of the most hyped and sought after cafes in the region and it lives up to it. This place was established over a hundred years ago. It oozes out culture and heritage. The ambience is overwhelming and calming at the same time. The interior is wonderfully decorated and the view of the Kanchenjunga from the terrace is heavenly. Also, it's the Mecca of good food. Their Darjeeling Tea and hot chocolate are a must try with the other baked goods. The English breakfast experience was pretty good too. This place is highly recommended.

Please avoid in peak tourist session. And breakfast cafe and bakery is better than the restaurant. Still the most sorted out restaurant in darjeeling with a unique colonial charm

Glenary's come with lot of legacy and goodwill. Its one of the most popular food junction in Darjeeling. Wonderful bakery products, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, dinner is also served here. Allover, a must visit place and a must eat place in Darjeeling. (They sell small chocolates as well, which are superb tasty!)

Their confectionery/cafe section (ground floor) is very nice and prompt. Muffins, Cream roll, Pastries, Patties all are good. Do watch the bill. They have the habit of wrongly putting more expensive items on the bill.

A BIG NO for their food section which is on the top floor. Takes to much time and really unprofessional and uncourteous staff. I had to wait in the queue for 30 minutes and then got the seats. Ordered within 5 minutes but the waiter didn't serve us the food almost after 1 hour had passed even didn't put any plates on our table. After enquiring came to know they missed it somehow and will make it fresh. Really? After 1 hour of waiting?
I cancelled my order and left. I really had an unpleasant experience. 1 star for that!

This is one amazing bakery situated on the Mall road in Darjeeling. They served freshly baked croissants, apple pies, cakes, short breads and much more at very low prices. The bakery opens at 6 30am and closes sharp at 8pm so make sure you place your order early enough in the evening.

This place is more hyped than reality.
If you get into the place, you will definitely be enthralled by its ambience. A mediavel marvel of architecture will certainly enchant you. But all rest are mediocre.
The food is of average taste. You have lots of choices, but not single one is mouth watering. Continental, Indian, Chinese, -all I've tasted but none of them I relished.
The worst part is the service. The staffs are lazy, not cooperative and reluctant at times. The last meal I had with my friends from Kolkata this afternoon. Though the restaurant was open before 1 pm, they refused to give us the menu card at quarter to one as one pm was the beginning of taking orders!
When 9 of us wanted to have our lunch at the terrace, they refused to rearrange the tables for us. We were forced to do by ourselves.
Again when we called one of the waiters, nobody was listening. It became a challenging game for us to get our dishes served on our tables.
Finally I must say that I am a resident of Darjeeling and I ONLY go to that place because of my friends' requests. Given a choice, Glenary's restaurant would be the last place for me to visit

Amazing place with great food, good vibes and decent prices. Has a vintage British feel to the entire place. Sit outside for views of the Kanchenjunga range.

Amazing ambience, food quality is superb. Special place is the rooftop restaurant. Tea, coffee and cookies are simply superb. Chocolates are very tasty. Supporting staff are very helpful.

Had SoOoOoOO much fun there. Built awesomely by British people I must say. No words for each thing we ate there.taste is still here in my mouth. Cool place to have peace and cool wind of Darjeeling.

A trip to Darj is incomplete without a visit to this iconic restaurant and bakery. Must try the Mixed Grill and Chicken Roast. Live music adds to the beautiful ambience of the place.

Glenary's is the most famous bakery and restaurant in Darjeeling. The blueberry cheesecake is just fantabulous here. Also have the chicken roll, red velvet cake, chicken salami cheese pizza, bacon quiche pie, cheese pie. Chocolate muffins are famous and the Brownie here tastes very good. So please visit here and experience the delicacy if this place.

Lovely warm place for high tea - all kinds of blends, delicious pastries, quick bites like puffs n patties, pizzas, burgers and what have you including christmas cake - character and color mark this treat of a place which is a century old and still going strong ably aided in no small measure by the enthusiastic Xavier who waits on you with such good cheer that it's hard not to feel charmed - so, if in Darj there's always time for a drop of tea at Glenary's with Xavier!

The ambience was extremely good, the decorations, and interior features were great. It felt like a lot of things happening in one place at once.the hustle and bustle inside the restaurant itself was amazing.
The music (classical) being played from the first floor was amazing, I couldn't stop myself from pausing a little and listening to the masterpiece.
Out of the things we ordered, the baked eggless yogurt was excellent.
The only thing they need to improve is the crowd management (at the pastry corner), there were so many people but only one cash counter. There was no queue system, customers appeared frustrated because no one were getting entertained by nobody.
If only they have more cash counter, and more staffs to serve, it will look much managed.

I went in with a little trepidation, expecting this restaurant/bakery to be another tourist trap. Which it is. But it's not completely without charm. The upstairs restaurant, with live music and a real fireplace, is quite elegant, the waiters listen and are generally nice. The food is mixed- the shepherds pie was more potato than meat and the coffee was pretty bad, but overall, it's a nice enough place to spend an evening in. I wish there was more done to preserve the heritage architecture- (the interiors are strictly pedestrian).

The best coffee shop in Darjeeling. And obviously one of the best bakeries I have ever been too. Absolutely nostalgic keeping together the heritage of Darjeeling. Must visit.

Just awesome in all regards. Live music, open sky, mountain view, delectable food, courteous staff. Have seldom seen food served at such speed in any restaurant. Stayed in Darjeeling for 2 days. Been there 5 times.
We loved their chicken keema mattar, so we just randomly asked them to share the recipe. One of their staffs actually came up after 5 minutes with the recipe written down by a chef!
Spent my Anniversary there and I would love to go back to Darjeeling for Glenery's
