Absolutely loved visiting the first ISKCON temple in India, established by Srila Prabhupada ji. We reached there at around 8: 30 am, when the Srimad Bhagavatam class begins, and stayed for more than an hour listening to the amazing lecture by Guruji, and then later visiting the gift shop which opens post 10 am. I was looking for a book to buy there "The Hare Krishna Book of Vegetarian Cooking". But didn't find it unfortunately. Would be great if the authorities could bring some copies of this book to the shop and also sell them online. Would definitely go back again. Hare Krishna.
It's a very quite and peaceful place with two very nice shop one for puja product, Books and the other one for food. Evening arti is so much beautiful and must taken the prasada after Radha krishna puja. Hare krishna Radha Radha
Every must visit this place atleast once in their lifetime. ️ This temple can change your life. Even this temple changed many Devoties life. This is the first ISKCON TEMPLE in India. Prabhupad spend a long time in this temple. Many spiritual leader of iskcon visited this temple. Every year they arrange The Ratha Yatra Kolkata festival. Everyone should come here and take darshan of sri Radha Govind, Jagannath Balaram Subhadra and Sudarshan. The can take delicious Prasad in temple or Govinda's Restaurant. Hare Krishna ️
ISKCON Radha Krishna Temple is a highly spiritual place for the devotees. The temple is also called Sri Sri Radha Govind Mandir and mainly focuses on spreading the teachings of Lord Krishna. It is not restricted to any one particular religion as such and welcomes enthusiasts or people interested in learning about these teachings with open arms. The temple is a serene complex that houses beautifully ornamented idols of Goddess Radha and Lord Krishna. The complex is very well maintained and provides for a serene atmosphere for devotees to soak in the heavenly vibes of the deities.
ISKCON was founded by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1966 in New York to open up the world to the valuable teachings of Lord Krishna based on the sacred Hindu scriptures of Bhagwad Geeta and Bhagwad Purana. This spiritual path introduces people to the Sanatana Dharma and Vedic Culture and helps them live a stress-free life. Visitors can also enjoy a 100% vegetarian sattvic meal that is prepared by the volunteers in clean and hygienic conditions. Most of the devotees visit the temple to clear their minds of endless chatter and to purify their souls through the chanting of the 'Hare Rama' mantra. To witness the vibe when the mantra is chanted by all the devotees is a surreal experience.
Janmashtami: This is the day Lord Krishna appeared in Vrindavan about 5000 years ago. It is one of the festivals that are celebrated with grandeur and enthusiasm in the temple. The festival begins with a Mangal Aarti early in the morning, and the temple is flocked by devotees for darshan all through the day. The celebration includes singing Kirtans, Bhajans and chanting the holy name of Lord Krishna. The idols are beautifully decorated with colourful clothing and jewellery. A special offering with 108 food items is specially prepared for the Lord. A programme with devotional songs, cultural dance performances, skits/ dramas, and lectures are also arranged. Free meals are also served to the devotees as prasad.
Ramnavami: Ramnavami is celebrated to commemorate the appearance of the King of Ayodhya, Lord Rama. The idols of Lord Krishna and Balram are decorated to resemble Lord Rama and Lakshmana with bows and arrows in their hands, and Goddess Radha is dressed to look like Goddess Sita. The Ramayana is also narrated on this auspicious day.
Radhashtami: This festival is celebrated in the honour of the greatest devotee of Lord Krishna, the Queen of Vrindavan and the Supreme Goddess, Goddess Radha. Devotees offer prayers, flowers and garlands to the Goddess and ask for Bhakti and an opportunity to serve the Lord and the Goddess through their prayers.
Chandan Yatra: Chandan Yatra is celebrated in the summer season in India. During the festival, the idols of the deities are covered in a paste of sandalwood for 21 days to protect them from the scorching summer heat. The deities are then taken on a procession to the temple pond where they are placed in a boat. Many devotees perform homas, offer sandalwood, flowers and garlands to the deities, chant mantras and offer barley in the sacred fire. Food items prepared with barley are considered to be auspicious to be consumed. It takes about 100 kilograms of sandalwood to prepare the paste that is used to cover the deities.
Best restaurant for navratri season. They offer without onion and garlic food from Indian to Chinese Cuisine. The quality of the food was sufficient enough for one person. A Bit pricey but worth spending money on.
Best pure veg Restaurant in kolkata… Staffs are so helpful and always smiling face… I just loved the ambience… the place looks like some foreign country… the food quality is 10/10 … Aloo paratha, cheese corn ball, aloo dam, aampanna, paneer tandoori, chocolate float, fried rice and chili paneer was superb …
Guys, this is one of the best place to have veg lunch or dinner. The price is not so high or not so less but it’s worth it. This is a very beautiful clean place and also amazing decoration and beautifully peaceful ambience inside of it. The workers inside the restaurant are amazing in behaviour. The foods are made with pure ghee and served only newly cooked hot foods. You can take selfies or pictures a lot around this place because the basic colour is white and decorated with wooden texture. Must visit places for veg people. The one who has taken part in ISKCON they all know about this place so the one who doesn’t know about or who has no participation in ISKCON be should know that this place has got the most beautiful tasted veg items in Kolkata. I suggest you all to visit this place and enjoy the food. Do take selfies and do take the photos of your food and make sure to post. And also one information regarding the payment that There is no problem with the payment you can give cash or you can pay through online UPI or even card.
A place where peace n happiness reigns. The food was simply divine and the price was great. I still can smell the pure Ghee that was used in cooking. Perfect SATVIK BHOJAN! Hare Krishna!
Too much price.one virgin mojito Rs. 195/-. One laccha paratha Rs. 100/-. Literally they looting people's in front the name of Iskcon. Not for Middle Class & Lower Middle Class people.can't afford it. Butter Nan, Cheese Nan & Mix veg are very good taste but overpriced. Every item in Govinda's are overpriced. Veg Biriyani & Dum Aloo sucks.tasteless & bland.no flavour. Me & my friend have a dinner together in yesterday night. Our Bill is with GST Rs. 1637/- (for 2 person). Very very disappointed for overpricing.
Very Good place to spend time here. So peaceful that an angry head will also forget why he or she was angry. I love Sandhya Aarti here and Kirtans aswell. Many foreigners also do visit this temples. Totally a safe place.
There is guest rooms available aswell. They also give prashadam bhojanam there and also book seats prior to any function or festivals.
There is a shop also in first floor where you can buy many things like a pendent or a calander or frames of Kanha and Radhe Ma. You can also buy few eatables like papads, go mutra, pasta etc and there are many books available there and alart from all these, you can buy speakers that chants "Hare Krishna Hare Rama" in loop.
In ground floor you can see a shop called as "Govinda's" where you can buy sweets or samosa. You can sit there and eat and if you go inside you can have a proper snacks there. They have table and chairs there and food is tasty.
If you swear by pure vegetarian food, chances are you must have dropped in at Govinda's at least once. If not, read on as you've clicked on the right recommendation.
Owned by ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness), the restaurant near Minto Park ISKCON temple has been serving authentic vegetarian food (minus onion and garlic) for decades. It has a pretty basic sit-in area where people can have lunch after visiting the temple (we did just that!).
Govinda's is famous for their south Indian dishes but they also serve north Indian and Chinese food, so no one's complaining. They have another outlet in Ballygunge, which also has a basic layout with wooden and round glass tables. Their Indian thali comes for INR 140 and they'll give you unlimited amount of roti, sabzi and rice! That's as basic as it gets!
Order a kabuli naan, Amritsari kulcha or pepper cheese kulcha, and you can break them piping hot while you dip in the paneer nawabdaar or paneer chatpata till you actually spill it on your clothes. Their lahori alu jeera, cheese malai kofta and makai veg jhal fry are equally tempting. The alu jeera is the right kind of spicy, with the pepper sharpening the taste even more.
Dosa lovers are in for a joy ride. Choose from the paper cheese masala dosa (which is our favourite), Mysore masala dosa and rawa masala dosa, The paper cheese masala dosa is thinner than a napkin with cheese overflowing from all corners. For sweet endings you can order a sundae and leave with your tummies filled to the brim.
After establishing many temples all over the world, Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada returned to India in August 1970. He established ISKCON’s first center in India in Kolkata at 3C Albert Road, Kolkata – 700017. He came to Kolkata along with his foreign disciples. Shaven – headed Westerners, with sikhas, Vaisnava tilaka, saffron robes, playing mrdangas and karatalas, chanting Hare Krishna, quoting Sanskrit verses eloquently created sensation in Kolkata. Hundreds of people would gather to have a glimpse of these Western devotees. Sankirtan was performed at places like Dalhousie Square, Chowringee and at other different places.
Minister Sadhana Pandey was present at the celebration of the birth anniversary of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, the initiative of the Swapna Garden Posting Club. The program was organized to bring people in the area along with them. Several show people took part. ISKCON has come forward to help with the event. President Anindya Sengupta said that people of the area are very happy at this event.
A small but very beautiful temple maintained by Iskcon. Many religious products are available on sale at shop in premises. Has A pure veg Govinda restaurant on ground floor.
VERY nice and spiritual place to visit. Suitable for all ages. People here is very good and cooperative. This place is a part of Iskcon temple. Ambience is really beautiful and quite even if it is located in the heart of metro city like Kolkata. I would like to vist again and again, especially during rath yatra. Many foreign visitors and devotees also come here.
One of the best place to visit in kolkata. No huge gathering, good bhajans, no pandas to disturb, silence, great management and easy to reach from Rabindra sarovar metro.
Had visited here once, long time back, there was this huge weekend lunch hour rush when the waiters weren't able to manage all the customers efficiently, got a table after a long time, pure vegetarian food was okay though the rice was mushy entirely.
Most auspicious divine place of Kolkata where both the youth and elder person can visit and can take the darshan of Shree Radha Madhav and can also visit Govindas the greatest vegetarian restaurant!
Do everything you have to do, but not with greed, not with ego, not with lust, not with envy but with love, compassion, humility, and devotion. Lord Krishna
My first darshan of an Iskcon Temple. A cultured organised devotional place to chant pray and meditate surrounded by smiling warm devotees and volunteers. I felt happy calm and settled. HARE KRISHNA! Iskcon temple, gurusaday road, near belle vue clinic.
One of my favorite place at Kolkata for pure Vegetarian food. Very well maintained, polite staff always ready to help you out to select your choice. You enjoy desert and sweet.

What a lovely Kirtan when having the darshan of the Lord. It was a awesome and blissful experience. Must see if you visit Kolkata. Parking may be a challenge as it is in a narrow street. The shop attached has a lot of memorila to buy.
This is a very auspicious place where you can know about the God and also know about to what is the relationship with you & lord. There are lot's of Counselor who always to serve you and teach you from Scriptures.
This place is heaven. Evening prayer is good. I haven't had chance to have the Bhog but the ambience was good.
Foods provided here are bit pricey but the taste is good. Panipuri is good too. This place is nearby to Vidya Mandir. And walkable distance from Rabindra Sadan Metro station.
Amazing ambience and food, love the tagline 'The higher taste'. Loved the food. There is also an Iskon temple adjacent to restaurant.strongly recommend if you are a tourist looking for higher and hollistic food.
This ISKCON Temple in Kolkata is beautiful and if you are inside this temple, you will only hear your inner voice. I love this holy place. ISKCON'S first temple in India. Being the oldest temple of ISKCON India, it has special importance. First, Kolkata is the birthplace of ISKCON’s founder Acharya - His Divine Grace A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. He always wanted that this centre of Kolkata should be nicely taken care of. This building is a heritage building from early 1900s, and that time this was the area where "babus" used to live. In that way, this temple was and is situated in the poshest locations of Kolkata, and one can still find buildings of British Raj era in the vicinity like La martiniere school, Nizam Palace, Victoria memorial, St John's cathedral etc.
Second, all senior disciples of Srila Prabhupad have some or other memory related to this temple and almost all senior disciples have stayed here for some time.
Thirdly, there is a room upstairs, where Srila Prabhupada used to stay when he was on this planet. Some very intimate pastimes of Srila Prabhupad with his disciples have happened here, one being, when His Holiness Tamal Krishna Goswami Maharaj went to Mayapur and acquired the first land there, as there was lot of opposition happening and it was a tough deal.
Fourthly, this temple was established even before ISKCON'S headquarters at Sri Dhaam Mayapur.
Fifth, world's 2nd largest and ISKCON INDIA'S first Rathyatra started here. At present, this is the second biggest Ratha-yatra worldwide after Jagannatha Puri and foremost in ISKCON. Everyday during Rathyatra at Mela pandal, atleast one lac visitors come which increases to 1.5 lac on weekends.
Sixth, you can also get some nice vegetarian sanctified food at Govinda's restaurant on the ground floor.
It's a temple where you get to meet selfless monks service the lord unconditionally.the ambience over here is extremely peaceful and serene. It's a must attend for those who live nearby. They can witness Sandhya Aarti everyday. The temple is full of activities including celebration of festivals, distribution of delicious prasadam etc. It also has the govindas restaurant which offers world-class food at an affordable pricing. It's clean hygienic and delicious. You will really feel yourself very comfortable here
HEAVENLY PLACE FOR SPIRITUAL BLISS. HOLY NAMES - HAREKRISHNA IS CHANTED HERE. YOU TAKE PRASADAM BUYING COUPON. SPRITUAL BOOKS AND OTHER ITEMS ARE AVAILABLE.
Visited by recommendations. The place is not open. The stuffs are not welcoming. Foods are expensive. Didn't like the food that much. The washroom is smelly, doesn't care about good hygiene. Over hyped place for hyper veg lovers. Wouldn't recommend. 5/10.
Aam Panna = It was very refreshing which costs Rs 100/- excluding taxes.
Paneer Resmi Tikka = It's kind of an appetizer. It is served with chili sauce and cucumber. It tasted good for a veg item, Costs Rs 270 excluding taxes.

All glories to srila prabhupada, due to his mercy so many are able to get the dasrhan of sri sri radha govinda dev. So well and nicely decorated temple and great prasadm served. Such nicely decorated deities. I have fallen in love with LORD JAGANNATH here, in the first sight my heart felt so vibrating and awe was filled in my eyes after taking darshan of lord jagannath, so jubilant smile lord jagannath has. Please let me remember the same lotus face forever. Jaya parbhupada
I have almost been a frequenter.for 2 years now. Before taste of every item was truly awesome and quantity too was up to the mark. But now both the qualities have gone down tremendously, leaving me a disappointed lot. To the bargain, price has gone up almost into the sky. Now I need to think twice before I peep in next.
This is a spiritual centre located at Minto Park, Kolkata, adjacent to a very calm and beautiful park. It is a part of ISKCON named as 'Sri Sri Radha Govind Temple'. It has a clean and very hygienic restaurant inside premises, also a well-organized book corner containing holy and mythological books. Good place for elderly people to spend their day and devote to chanting.
Nice place to visit. Also the devotees here having both qualities of devotion and very well known in philosophy. After talking with them i realized how much glorious and scientific is our religion. DON'T MISS TO TALK WITH DEVOTEE THERE.
Hindus have to be patient in their religion to achieve their peacefulness. Hindus are also known to be very friendly. Having such characteristics would greatly empower our whole society no matter what religion someone is from, The first thing I noticed upon arrival at the temple is the beautiful architectural building design outside.
Most Peaceful. Calm. Clean. Well maintained temple. You'll feel amazed. I recommend visit here with your family you will feel blessed. Very nice and clean temple and a beautiful one too. Must go for all devotees. Bhajan-kirtan, Shankhnaad, Havan and Aarti are the important modes of worship here.
The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), referred to casually as the Hare Krishna development or Hare Krishnas, is a Gaudiya Vaishnava Hindu religious organisation. Its center convictions depend on select Hindu sacred writings, especially the Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavata Purana. ISKCON is an immediate relative of Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya. The presence of the development and its way of life originate from the Gaudiya Vaishnava custom, which has had disciples in India since the late fifteenth century and American and European believers since the mid 1900s in North America, and in England since the 1930s. [10] In West Virginia, the Praphupada's Palace of Gold is presently a hallowed place for the organizer, who passed on in 1977.
ISKCON was shaped to spread the act of Bhakti yoga, in which those included (bhaktas) devote their considerations and activities towards satisfying, Krishna, their Supreme Lord. ISKCON starting at 2017 is an overall confederation of in excess of 850 sanctuaries and focuses, including 60 cultivate networks, some going for independence, 50 schools, and 90 restaurants. Its most fast extensions in participation starting at 2007 have been inside India and, particularly after the fall of the Soviet Union, Eastern Europe.

Divine Food! Heavenly taste! One of very few pure vegetarian restaurants in Kolkata providing "no onion, no garlic" food. Every food item is first offered to Lord Govinda and the Prasad is distributed to the customers.really lacking words to describe this place! Chant HARE KRISHNA and get drowned in The Lord's Prasad!
