We went to Food Court on the first floor. The place is very common place compared to other restaurants, should be better furnished. Food quantity is less but quality is mediocre. There is long gap between order placed and food delivered. Overall a good option for vegetarians but there is lot of scope for improvement.
I ordered for there special Gulab patti Sandesh and they gave me without rose petals and tried to make me understand that there is no difference. Even the taste of that was not upto the mark
There are some Staffs in new Alipore outlet who are very rude, based on situations they charge more money for sweets, also arguing with customers. The staffs need to be changed. Due to this staffs Gupta brother's name is getting defamed. Otherwise Gupta brother's sweets are nice but the staffs of new Alipore branch are very rude and arrogant and also misbehaves with customers
I understand that you may have found the New Alipore store closed recently. But it is now up and running. You can also have the famous Emarti now for more affordable price hot and straight out of the pan.
Ordered for paneer butter masala, after taking to home when opened found foul smell from the gravy, paneer was also found to be stale of sour taste, very much disappointed, it seems Gupta Brothers have lost its quality.
The laddoo and the rosogollas are too good for a review and hence the abarkhabo shop name is justified Also the imarti and pav bhaji live counters are a must try.
Pathetic service and their processes. I wonder how do they survive being so useless. I guess they are managing this purely because they are in Calcutta where there is no concept of customer experience. People here only want 'cheap stuff'. How it is served is of least importance to them
In a nutshell this is a bigger version of a village halwai. I dislike their products to the core
The restaurant Gupta Brothers is a place to satisfy your taste buds. It’s pocket friendly and offers a huge variety be it in terms of savouries and sweets. A sweet shop turned into savoury too, has a very nice air about it. It scintillates the taste buds when one passes. The kachori- subzi or the Jalebi or pav bhaji or any other item, one can’t resist. It offers a variety to eat and is a one stop restaurant.
The quality and variety of sweets available in this shop will tickle the taste-buds of all the sweet-loving people. Their trade mark Abar Khabo is a signature sweet item available there. They also sell savouries like Samosa and Chilli Paneer. There is a vegetarian restaurant on the 1st floor where beautiful seating arrangements overlooking Nalini Ranjan Avenue in air conditioned ambience is available. The service is courteous and prompt and the charges are moderate. The fare available there includes desi vegetarian chinese items. An a la carte veg.dinner would be a very pleasant affair there.
This place is basically famous for its delicious sweets. Sweets are costly but worth paying. They also have veg restaurant but no non veg food is available. Parking space is not available near or around the shop which is a big pain. You are more worried about your vehicle than thinking about the taste of the food. Staff is not courteous. It is very crowded and no one would pay attention at you. You would end up shouting your menu. If you like my review and pics then kindly click on the like button. Thanks! #deliciousfood, #rosogullah, #sweetshop
The ultimate destination of foodies and sweet lovers. Many sorts of sweets and also some salty items like Singara, Radhaballavi, Kochuri, Veg Sandwich are available. The cost is obviously a little high for mediocre but if you want quench your thirst for delicious sweet your destination must be Gupta Brothers. And personally I believe in a sentence "কম খাবো কিন্তু ভালো খাবো" (I'll eat less but eat well).
Good food. Pricey. At times it becomes very crowded and unmanageable and during those times the staffs really struggle to provide proper service to the customers. Hence, they should seriously consider increasing the number of staffs so as to tackle situations like these.
Special Thali is very much special.simply loved the preparation and politeness of the staff. Super soft Naan & Masala Kulcha along with 3 yummy sabzi (Keema paneer, chana masala & corn methi malai) + super yummy dahi Vada and Gulab Jamun. My Durga Puja hopping definitely started on a perfect note.
The experience going there was too bad.no price tag on any of the item. As soon as i was asking the staff for the price the reply was " aap pehle jaake counter mai bill banaye tab milega " It was a rediculous experience.
The shop is located at New Alipore Triangular park on the main road. Easy to locate the shop given the bright glosign that screams attention.
Once you are inside you are welcomed witha whole array of sweets. Variety is the key here. Impossible to taste all at the same time given the large variety but the the presentation is awesome.
Indians like morning snacks. Here too from kachoris to dahi bada assortment is varied.
And lastly few more addition i have seen this time around. Dont know whether it is just for the puja but cakes and pastries have been introduced.
1. Busiest sweet shop and confectionery in the New Alipore region. Houses a large variety of local sweets of all types and ranges, indian street snacks like samosa, pakodas, crispy readymade food items, takeaway food cans, ready to make food items.
2. Houses a live paw bhaji making counter right outside the shop. And has a big restaurants serving many meal, quick bites and evening snack options for the foodies. Rate wise quite Ok. Taste wise good.
3. Hosts special schemes during festivals to attract more customers.
Staff needs to be more polite.in comparison to new Alipore Gupta others are much better.when you order online then don't at new Alipore go for some other Gupta.packing and all very poor
Different kinds of sweets and hot items available here. Very delicious, but costlier. Service is little bit slow. Many different varieties of Sandesh sweet available here.
