Stayed at Mr Jigme's homestay with 3 of my childhood friends for 3 days while visiting Darjeeling last week.
Their hospitality is unbelievable.all the family members are so humble and soft spoken.their food is their major highlight. I would recommend this homestay in Darjeeling ghoom to all of you

One of the best homestays I have ever stayed at. The rooms are airy with great view. All modern amenities are present in the rooms. The food is healthy and tasty at the same time. Wangdiji, Jigme and Tenzi are great hosts. They always make you feel at home. According to us they are the true believer of ATITHI DEVO BHAVA. WIll surely come back for a longer stay. Wishing Gyamchumgla all the best for the future.

Excellent staying with a family ambience behavior of Jigme his father and wife excellent! Far from madding crowd of Darjeeling a solitude excellent roof top with view of tiger hill! All minute detail are taken care off! A nice place to stay for few days to fill loneliness!

Exceptional. Jigme and his wife Tenzi and his father made sure that our stay is comfortable. They are such a nice people. People in hills are in general are very welcoming but Jigme is symbol "atithi devo bhavah". Since we were driving our car, Jigme kept in touch during our journey on a regular interval to made sure we reach location safely and on time.
If you are planning for Darjeeling and don't like crowded place to stay then Ghoom is the best place to stay. Darjeeling is easily accessible (15-20 minutes) from here by shared taxi (Rs. 30 per person). You can get the taxi in 5 minutes walking distance. Old Ghoom Monastery and railway station is also very close to homestay. Jigme accompanied us to the monastery as nd taxi stand.
Room: Rooms and washrooms are big enough and very clean. The view from the room is great.
They also have a parking space in closed gate, in case you are traveling by your car.
Food: Tenzi cooks very delicious food. We had all our meals in the homestay only just because of the simple and homely cooked food. Hosts were kind enough to fulfill our request of having Maggi at odd hours on the terrace.

Our stay at Gyamchungala was the HIGHLIGHT of our visit to Darjeeling.

Firstly, Ghoom is a great alternative to stay instead of crowded Darjeeling. It is Central to most attractions and is also a junction so Central to most adjoining cities.

Jigme Wangdi, his wife Tenzi, and his father are the epitome of hospitality.

The house is very clean and inviting and the rooms are very well appointed.
The home is very quiet and set in a beautiful quaint village

We were offered tea every morning and were given a lot of assistance in planning our excursions.jigme actually accompanied us to tiger point and also to a couple of other places where we needed some help.

On the last day we had breakfast of hot soup. Jigme presented us with the a Tibetian prayer scarf (kata) as a parting gift.

If you want to experience the Tibetian hospitality and warmth, this is the place to stay!

I had an amazing stay here. The hosts of the property are so hospitable and welcoming. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. And I don't have enough words to describe the amazing taste of the food made by them. So homely, tasty and nutritious food. Jigmie was really helpful with everything. If some time in the future, I'm planning to go to Darjeeling, I'll definitely stay with them. Staying with these amazing hosts was the best decision for us.

Food was arranged on time and the taste was amazing. No words to compare the hospitality and humbleness, the host and his father extended to all of us. One of the Best Homestay I have been to it was the best experience we ever had it was so good that we didn't wanted to visit the places in Darjeeling we just wanted to stay inside the food was absolutely delicious recommended: - please do not go out and eat. The view was awesome.
It was totally unexpected we had an amazing time here.

We stayed for 3D/4N at the homestay and we would have extended it to some more days if not for other scheduled commitments of ours.
A place right where it should be to roam freely all around darjelling be it Mirik, lamahttta, ghoom station, peace pagoda or to tiger hill (which is barely 15 min ride) etc. The homestay is an epitome of the forever phrase ​" home away from home" as the days spent were made wonderful by the host @Zigme and his father! The overview from the balcony is bewildering.
We felt the friendliness and hospitality permeating in the house. It is undoubtedly a perfect way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
I would highly recommend you all to stay here and get engulfed into the lap of nature!
Though one should book for the homestay expecting only authenticity of a warm home and not the luxuries of 5 star hotel!
We had a great time there and hopefully we will visit the place soon!

We stayed at this homestay last month and we had a wonderful experience. Host Jigme Wangdi and his father were very welcoming. Homestay is maintained very neatly and is a minute's walk from Ghum railway station. Jigme suggested us couple of local places to eat from and also famous places to visit in Ghum and Darjeeling. Overall it was a good stay at GYAMCHUNGLA HOMESTAY. Highly recommend this place!

It was a great experience to be the occupant of the home stay for 3 days at Darjeeling. From the moment we landed at Darjeeling the courtesy of the host commences and the host Jigme himself arrived at the place where we are and guided to his residence and hot food was served to us. They had taken every care minutely and made our stay totally comfortable. They mingled with us freely and made us to feel as if we are their family members. Despite of our refusal, they took pain to provide us coffee/tea at the odd hours at 3.00am. Their humbleness is really remarkable and we have to learn a lot from them on this trait. They have provided free access to every part of their residence including pooja room, terrace and kitchen even though we are from a different religion. They have touched the heart of every one of us through their services, simplicity, humbleness, kindness and lovely behavior. Jigme took additional care of us by accompanying with us to all the places we have visited in around Darjeeling and acted as a guide without any expectations and sacrificed his comfort to make us comfortable. The way they had given send off at the wee hour of 3.30 am will linger in our memory for ever. In fact we are astonished and dumb-founded and really don't know, how to reciprocate their gesture. Overall, our stay and fooding at Darjeeling is a worthy one to be experienced. MUST STAY PLACE.
