Hatari Restaurant

We went there on 7th October, 2 weeks before puja. Well the food, ambiance, and staff behaviour was good, though we had to wait for almost 40 minutes to get a seat for two.

I have been visiting this restaurant since a long time but on my recent visit seems like the taste and quality has been degraded

One of my favourite restaurant is "HATARI". I just love to go there not only for the food but also the ambience, some of the staff behaviour is also very polite and friendly.

It saddens me to give such low rating to hattari. It had been my favourite restaurant from childhood. The quality of food has deteriorated a lot. The hot and sour soup which we had was so so thick a sticky layer had formed over the soup, It felt like I was having gruel. The fish is starter was satisfactory, even the chicken with red wine sauce was also satisfactory. The mixed fried rice I would give a negative rating. The rice was over cooked and felt soggy and stale. There was hardly any vegetables in the mixed fried rice with lesser pieces of chicken and prawn I was used to in my previous visits. I felt so sad today after coming from hattari, even my parents were angry who religiously every time went to hattari if they wanted to eat out. Lastly we were literally sweating while eating. They had switched off all the ac s except just one which was on 24c and it was way before their closing time around 10: 00. I felt like home at hattari every time but today after coming back after some time it wasn't a good experience

Side dish was not so good.chicken balls are made and kept, just sauce is added from top, very dry and not tasty

Very tasty food, great ambiance. Food was served after a little delay, but the taste made of for the wait. Will surely recommend to friends

Nice ambience, one of the famous chinese food chain in kolkata. Though I had an unsatisfactory food quality.semi cooked mixed fried rice and hot garlic chicken is not expected from Hatari. Hoping for better food quality in future.

The food menu is extensive and the dishes are just incredible. Strongly recommend the duck items and their specials. The place is wildly popular and wait times are long on weekends and holidays. A must visit place for Chinese food lovers in Kolkata

To describe the restaurans in 3 words, cheap, ghatiya, time-waste.i wud love to give a 0 star if that were there. DO NOT GO HERE EVERRRRRRR

It was awesome place for hangout with friends or family and also enjoy the food as well it's quality nd quantity is very good.no doubts

Must visit place in kolkata, if you are crazy @about Chinese dishes. Crispy Honey chilly lamb is so yummm, pamper your palate with it.

Very bad restaurant.very bad behaviour.rude staff.they dont maintain stringent queue protocols.we waited for more than 3 hours and then after that also they bring those people who are their old customers.

Got the chance to enter after 3 hours of waiting outside the restaurant during durga puja. The staffs are not well mannered at all. Very harsh behaviour. The only thing we liked was taste of the food. But sour and sweet chicken was way too sweet, didnt like it at all. Chicken starters and fried rice was good in taste

We order mangolian chicken which was very sweet thus they shows in menu card 1chili spice level but compare to that it's very sweet, dry lamb was good, spcl chicken biryani taste very very avg. Chicken kadhai was good. The person who serving us was very rude, not other waiters.overall experience is avg. I go there by seeing the review and for tasty food. My overall experience not so good.

Hatari restaurant foods awesome. Fried rice, prawn. Manchurian fish must try, quality quantity & test perfect.

Eto kharap service & khabar er teste akdom kharap.resturant e boser 15 min por jol dea glo jeta bosar sathe sathe dbr kotha. R khabar er kono teste nei.cost onk besi khabar akdm kharap. I recomand don't weste your money for these teste less food.

The chicken fried rice and chicken chowmien along with pork+mushroom gravy was just amazing. Similar good inside to go out and dine with friends or family. Even if a bit on the costly side.

Very disappointed with the chilly chicken yesterday, it’s just tasteless, did not expect that from Hatari, other items we ordered like Mongolian fish and Chicken fried rice were good.

The ambience was good. Food was delicious. Customer service was top notch. Might feel that the space is kind of a little less but that feeling sinks in while you wait for your food to be served. MUST TRY: Hatari's special: Pan fried chilli fish. 5/5 for this dish.

I paid a visit to the Gariahat outlet, which is one of the best Mughlai and Chinese restaurant in Kolkata with my friend. Hatari has the best family ambience I find every time I visit the place. The courteous staff, the delicious yummy food served there, haunts me to visit the place again and again.
I ate the following there:
1. Spl. Mutton Biryani.
2. Chicken Malai Kabab.
3. Chilli Pork Dry.
4. Fresh Lime Soda.

The mutton biryani and the chilli pork dry were heavenly, it made me fall in love with their taste and preparation. The malai kabab was good, it will be loved by people who are fond of sweets. But yes, the kababs were way to soft. As soon as you take your first bite, it will melt in your mouth, uff heavenly!
They do not make any type of compromises when it comes to serving the best quality and quantity of food. The prices are pocket friendly too!
Hatari is the best restaurant to visit with your family and friends whenever you want.

The Biriyan was not appropriate. The chicken was not tender. The ambience is good. But I didn't liked the food much.

They are taking preventive measures like hot plates, glass Including Curtains between customers.

One of the best Chinese restaurant in Kolkata. But ya they also serve biryani. Their chicken sweet corn soup is my all time favorite.

Extremely good quality food, ambience is superb and the position of this restaurant is very much easygoing. Highly recommended

The food quality is good here also the quantity you get is also better than other restaurants. The food is a bit costly here and but the quantity and quality justifies it. The behavious of the staff is also good, there is also big space inside but you will still find queue if you go late for thr lunch.

Ambience is also nice and you will enjoy your lunch or dinner here a lot. One incident I had was we found something stick like in the chicken fried rice we ordered, when we reported the same the staffs took it seriously and examined it. They told that it is just a bone of chicken and they apologised for the same and gave us free cold drink for the same. The staff behavious is very good here and they will always help you.

The restaurant is on rashbehari avenue and is clearly visible from the main road. The location is very good you wont find any difficulty in reaching here.

This restaurant is known as one of the good restaurant but today I ordered food for dinner it was very bad. I think the chef doesn't know how to cook the taste was just like a street food. I have just wasted my money.

One of the easily affordable and reliable restaurants in Kolkata. I have been there during this pandemic for the first time. However, their norms regarding social distancing and sanitation is really upto the mark. The taste of food was really good. But I would like to have few more different types of flavours in their non- veg Indian main course items.

Let's come to the details. I saw an amazing rating of Hatari, and people recommended biryani of this place. Since I also found it's name in some sites under chinese restaurants, I decided to try the chinese items.
1. Honey chicken (starter) - Was below average. I donot want to compare. Honey chicken doesnot taste like that. I donot knkw what they made, some friend chicken in a sticky honey base with an excess sugary taste.
2. Fish in red wine sauce (maincourse) - This tasted good. You can try this one out. I think it would be better with naan/roti or rice.
3. Chicken chowmein- Chowmein was normal. It is good but you frequently eat that chowmein on average stores. Nothing special
4. Tooti frooti sundae- This was finally good, both in taste and amount.
Food- I donot feel the food is worth the price, at all. My total bill was Rs 1250 and I felt it was a wastage of money. But, the amount is sufficient for two, so this would be good for family dinings too
Ambience- Ambjence is very good and cosy. Good, soft music plays in background. There are large tabkes for family. Every seat has a curtain adjacent on both sides, so that the people can separate themselves if they wish to and enjoy some privacy.
Staff service- The staffs were polite. The guard, at the time of entry, checked our temperature and gave us sanitizer spray. Inside, the waiters didnot feel very nice. They kind of directed us towards a seat and dinot let us choose ours. They served food properly but were poor in communication. One of them spoke English only and it was awkward for me to converse. We had pulled our curtains but towards the end, when we were not yet finished, a waiter came and pulled out thr curtains. I donot know why he did that
Snaitation- There are clean bathrooms. Also, the spoons were given in a glass, dipped in hot water.

Excellent food and ambience. We had crab, pork and lamb. All were excellent in taste. Moreover it was quite economic in price!

For me this place is not less than heaven. Since my college days I went there & now I am 34. Try any dishes from here, you can't be demoralise. Join hatari & have fun!

Dim light interior. I love that. A relaxing music always on. Enough food quantity. Over all very good.

Hatari has always been one of my favourite restaurants whenever I craved for chinese.
Situated right opposite to the Triangular park.and specially now when food safety is a major concern, Hatari serves with absolute finesse.

Good environment for family to enjoy and eat. Food quality is good and staff is friendly.

The taste of the biriyani was light and beautiful.

I've ordered chicken fried rice and chilli chicken for the main course.chicken fried was good but gravy of chilli chicken was totally burnt. So that was a bad experience for me.
And for dessert I've ordered brownie with icecream. It was for 250INR
It was good but according to price it was slightly over priced for me. Brownie can be softer I guess.

Ambiance and the attitude of staffs was really good. And more important thing their sanitization process is quite impressive.

This Place is good for dining and food is delicious too but you have to go earlier in peak hours there otherwise you have to wait in line.

The person in the gate managing que is having worse behaviour and does not know how to speak to guest. The restaurant serves best of foods in the city but the welcome behaviour made us sad.

I've already come to this place thrice & it never disappoints me. One of the best Chinese you can get in Kolkata for the cost.

I would definitely recommend Mongolian Fish or Fish Chili & Pepper. Also, make sure to take Nasi Goreng Rice if you're a fan of pork.

One of South Calcutta's oldest Chinese food joint, serving quality, tasty and reasonably priced food for years to millions of families.

This place serves classic Indian & Tandoori food, along with Chinese cuisine. They have a hugh variety in the menu and the dishes are delectable. The prices are reasonable & value for money.
The ambience is decent, though it can be a bit crowded at times. The staffs are polite and accommodating. Overall a very good place to enjoy a meal and hangout with family and friends.

A very good place to dine in with your family and friends. Both the quality and the quantity are awesome. The ambience and the decor is splendid, after the renovation work. The hospitality of the place is just too good. Among the menu, Chinese is the best with great variety. Chili pork and chilli lamb are must try here. Mongolian chicken is also one of my favorites. They also serve great biryanis.

Hatari is a very old resturant which is best known for it's chinese foods but it's a multicuisine resturant. Hatari has total 5 outlets still now but this outlet is the main & oldest among all. In the weekends whenever you will visit you will find a rush of 15-20 people so they won't take table booking on weekends. I went to this place will a hell lot of expectations but certain things disappointed me.

We went a group of 11 people but they provide the table when all of us come togeather. Untill & unless you all are present there you won't get a table. Is's a totally non-sense. They also provide a table of 8 people & we had to adjust ourselves there.

Ambience is just okay type like other resturant. You will not found anything great. The tables are so old that the top of the table is in a very bad condition. Washrooms are clean which is a great thing.

Coming to food we ordered Fish Fry, Tandoori Chicken, Crispy Chili Babycorn, Chicken Sweet corn soup In the staters. In main course we ordered Egg fried rice, Mixed hakka noodles, chili fish dry, schezwan chicken & tandoori roti. We just ended with a common breverage fresh lime soda.

• Fish Fry - Is contains 3 pieces in a full plate & It's served with french fries. The main problem with the fish fry that they put a lot of baking soda due to which it became more crispy than usual.
• Tandoori Chicken - It contains 8 pieces in a full plate. They just cut the 4 big pieces from middle & turned it into 8 pieces. The drawback of tandoori chicken is they put a lot of mustard oil in the time of marination & salt portion is very less.
• Crispy Chili Babycorn - The babycorn preparation was good.
• Egg Fried Rice - The most blunder dish of you main course. A very bad smell was coming due to which we cannot consume the whole.
• Mixed Hakka Noodles - The noodles was very good in taste. It also contains a moderate quantity of chicken prawns & egg. A perfect dish for main course.
• Dry chili fish - Another perfect preparation which cannot be questioned. It contains 8 pieces in a full plate.
• Schezwan Chicken - It's a semi gravy preparation & it also contains 8 pieces. I personally didn't like the preparation because it's too sour.
• Fresh Lime soda - Not a perfect ending of our food course because the soda was prepared with a lot of sugar which make the taste on the down side.

Overall experience is average. Service is quite good, all the foods are served in time. Price is not that much high because they serve a good quantity. Recommed place from my side. But 'HATARI is not more that HATARI which I use to visit in early days. '

Perfect ambience to sit and enjoy delicious food. Especially, Biriyani, Rice and Chicken side dishes are the best combo.

I was invited to a birthday party @ Hatari restaurant, i went around 8.45pm the restaurant was full filled with crowd we had our table booked so i didnt had any issues after sumtime we ordered starters (CRISPY BABY CORN) i was having veg so it was not that BAD i seriously had a good time.after sum time we ordered the main course.i had schezwan veg noodles with paneer chilli manchurian which was simply awesome and mouthwatering and ontop of that the quantity was too good for this

It's a very good restaurant maintaining quality of food till now within affordable prices. That's the reason for having 1st choice whenever I have been in South calcutta and around. Very easily commutable as it's located right on the main road just opposite to triangular park. But you have to be patient as queue is almost inevitable there. Have to wait for at least 15 minutes. Also their contact no. Is working and reachable. You can also do advance table booking by just calling them. Overall a top rated quality restaurant to stop by and have your appetite.

Excellent place to dine with friends and family. Good ambience and great service. Non veg food is delectable and a must try. The only problem is the peak hour rush for which adequate time and patience should be catered to stand in queue.

Great Oriental cuisine. The taste of the food items are just perfect neither too hot nor too sweet. The main focus point is the quantity, a plate of fried rice of any variant is sufficient for 2 persons as dinner and so are the side dishes. The deserts specially the hot browny icecream is absolute heaven. If you are planning for dinner try booking a table if more than 2 person in total else one have to wait as the popularity never let it run sparse.

Nice and tasty dishes. I would like to say you all that if you go to Hatari, then please try their signature dish 'Pan Fried Chilli Fish'.

The ultimate non veg destination. Lamb green pepper, pork, prawn are signature dishes. Try not to order one plate per person cause they are serving huge quantity in one dish. Average wait time is 10 minutes on weekends rush hour. Ambience is pretty good. It is a perfect family restaurant.

Good & decent place. Food is also yummy. But hard drinks are not avilable here. Overall nice place for family gathering.

The taste of the food is just awesome. You will get a lots of variety of recipes for both veg and non veg. 1 plate rice is sufficient for 3 people if you don't take too much of rice.

This is an age old restaurant that I have been visiting since my college days. The taste has always been good and the quantity has always been more than expected. Most of the time we could finish and packed the residual home. This time was nothing different specially the fish item that we enjoyed thoroughly except the Mixed Chow Mein had something that smelled foul and the server's gor is changed for another haka noodles. The behaviour of the staff remains perfect.

Being situated on Rash Bihari Avenue, opposite to Triangular Park, this one is Hatari's main branch. I have found another branch of this chain on VIP Road at Raghunathpur. I am a frequent visitor of this food junction. Very good foods - according to quality, quantity, varieties. Though they serve North Indian items too, but I am fond of their Far East/Chinese varities. All service personnel are too good, very much helpful to their customers. Ambience is also very good, spic n span almost. Though they can accommodate more than 100 people at a time on the tables, but I suggest people to reach there before 8: 30 p.m. Else you may wait in que for long, especially on weekends. The awaiting lines tell us their popularity.
