Beautiful place and possibly the best place to stay in Jaldapara National Park in West Bengal. One can see several different mammals like Rhibo, Gaur etc to visit the salt pit in the backyards of the hotel.

Its a beautiful place inside the jungles of Jaldapara. I along with my family visited here in December 2022.
If you stay one night here, there is high chances of watching wild animals who generally come to the salt pit created in front of Hollong Lodge.
We were lucky enough to see a heard of elephants, a XXXL size rhinoceros, a group of bisons, a leopard, deers etc. Elephant safari from Hollong was charming (we saw a Rhino), but a night stay in Hollong Lodge was much worthy than that. You may also watch wild animals at the night by search light which is arranged by lodge authorities. Food was good in Hollong Lodge but is comparatively costly. For breakfast, lunch and dinner.it is Rs. 900 per day per person.

This is most of the exciting place to stay within the jungle. Here we can view the wildlife from very close proximity day and night.

Need to stay at the rooms.went there during elephant safari.it looks great from outside.a heritage look which has attracted me.

The most thrilling experience is the night time, and the elephant safari, the forest, the forest lives, the nighttime and daytime differences of the forest, the morning.sunrise, birds, the atmosphere, serenity.the sunset, the dawn, the night, the nocturnal surroundings.all are good food for your soul.

Hollong is a hidden gem. No wonder it is so hard to find availability here. Great home cooked type food at the restaurant in the lodge. Very friendly staff. Only thing is the maintenance of the bungalow building needs to be more improved.

It's one of the best tourist lodge ever. Scenic beauty from the window of this lodge is great plus the various type of animal, attracted to the salt pit, are the main attraction of this Lodge. Current is available here to make the stay very comfortable. Electric fencing is surrounded the whole cottage to safeguard tourists from the wild animal.

It's one of the oldest jungle bungalow in the West Bengal and it shows, it's literally in the middle of the jungle and very far from the nearest population. If you're an avid wildlife photographer or enjoy wildlife then it should be on your wishlist. Prices are very high for a dilapidated bunglow, they'll charge for each and everything, nothing is complimentary. Compared to other WBTDCL properties it's price and amenities are a far cry from 3 star comparable other properties. If one can compromise on the price and amenities then it's actually worth the money for the natural beauty it gives to it's guests.

West Bengal's most prized nature destination @jaldapara national park. You can book from the wbtdcl website. Checkin-12 PM, checkout-11 AM. Total 5 rooms, 2 rooms are front facing but you need to reach early to get those. Room charge per night -4000+12% GST.plus car-400/- and per person entry fee-120/-. Lunch at 300/- (rice, dal, alubhaja, fish/egg/paneer). Evening snacks, dinner and next day breakfast -600/- per person.you can book Jeep safari from WBSFDA website for madarihut or salkumar gate (2660/-). Also the next Morning you can go for an elephant safari-1020/- per person. But the main attraction is the salt pit which you can watch from your room window. You might see rhino, wild boar, elephant, barking deer, bison, peacock etc.

Holong Tourist Lodge is in Jaldapara forest, about 8 km inside the forest. There is two step check in, first in forest entry gate where visiter should give their details and sign. 2nd and final check in process is at the reception of Lodge. Room is allotted as mentioned in visitors booking slip. There are 8 rooms for tourist among 3 are reserved for VIP guest. Per head per day food charge is Rs. 900/- (lunch, dinner, breakfast, evening tea, snacks). Main attraction of this lodge is the salt pit beside river hollong, where Indian gour, elephant, rhino, peacock and other birds may visit for salt licking. In the evening visitors may enjoy tribal dance in a forest village about 1 km away from the lodge. Elephant safari starts from the gate of hollong tourist lodge at 5.30 am.

It is situated inside Jaldapara Wildlife Santuary. Government lodge. Can be booked online in advance. Elephant safari starts from here. Nice place with scenic beauty. Surrounding is well maintained. Wildlife watching arina is also created infront of the lodge.

It was a, once in a life time experience. I can't explain it, I can't describe it in words or sentences. Holong stay was truly a memorable one, 26 wild Indian gaurs, 5 wild elephants, Barking Deers, 2 one horned rhino was there, 50 meters away, infront of my eyes. And kunki elephants bathing in the river, was a sight to behold. Elephant safari, beautiful wooden cottages, mouthwatering meals, 6 km inside the core jungle of Jaldapara. Blissful, mesmerizing, delightful sight, it is going to create an everlasting impression. I am coming back for sure.

The rooms are not maintained. It was like build a decade ago and not maintain properly. The rooms are like any 2* hotel room. Bathroom is spacious but old.

After many late night checkings at booking website we finally got our reservation at The Hollong Bungalow. If this is your time in forest please visit some other parts before arriving here as this place will raise your expectations very high.

We had previously visited few other jungles and in our experience, it is very rare that you will encounter many animals. In most cases you will get sighting of a very few animals or no animals at all. But here, right across the Holong river, a salt pit had been created which attracts several forest animals like rhinos, elephants, bison, deers etc. This palce is also a viewing point in Jaldapara car safari. Tourists arriving here as a part of safari can only stay maybe 10-15 mins. But as a guest, the entire day and night is at your disposal.

Guest are only allowed outside as long daylight is there. At evening sometimes wild animals roam around hotel premises so its forbidden to get outside when its dark. Government had installed electric fence recently to minimize animal entry in hotel premises. During out stay we saw a herd of bisons gazing across the river entire day and night. Alas we did not see the one horned rhinos but at evening sighting of a very big one toothed elephants made everyone excited. The morning elephant safari took us in the deep jungle where we were finally able to sight a rhino chilling into a shallow swamp.

This place was built nearly half a century back so it has an old age charm to it. Rooms are good but don't expect anything luxurious. We had to separately order for lunch and dinner here as these are not part of package. The food was a typical bengali cuisine and it was excellent and appetizing. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire stay and definitely will be back if we are able get hold of booking one more time

Awsome experience.we stayed there for one night and it was amazing, surrounded by wilderness. All animals come near the bunglow. If you stay there you dont need to do jungle safari. U can see all the animals from the bunglow itself.

Fabulous. Excellent location, 6km inside the Jaldapara forest. Best place to stay. One can easily sight animals sitting in the room and sipping a cup of tea. But the room rent and fooding is costly than the less maintained rooms.

A serene place inside Jaldapara National Park. At night the place will make you feel deep inside forest outside concrete jungle. Anytime you will meet a wild animal. Best place is stream in from of bunglow.

This bungalow is situated inside Jaldapara National Park. If you stay here overnight you will be able to see the animals of the national park from your room at early in the morning when they come to take a bath in the nearby lake, and even at the middle of night when they come to drink water.

Hollong Tourist Lodge is an iconic forest bungalow deep inside Jaldapara! What a place to stay close to mother nature! From the window itself, we could spot so many animals including Rhino! And the elephant safari that starts from Holong is simply awesome!

Wonderful place to visit. It should be a must visit for nature lovers, explorers. A great place to see animals and birds in their natural habitat within 50ft distance. We got to see 7 rhinoceroses including two babies, Asiatic elephants, 5 Indian gaurs, few sambars, deer's, boars and monkeys. Colorful birds and greenery everywhere. Elephant safari is a must. Visit Jaldapara national park to enjoy nature so close.

Sitting on the park, we could see 9 elephants, 5 rhinos, many Samba deers, bison etc. The forest department spray black salt etc to attract the wild animals. At night they focus search lights to observe the animals.

Simply out of the world experience. Reasonably clean for a govt lodge.
Jeep safari was great but the best was the night view with numerous rhinos, bisons, peacocks, and deer visible very close to the room. Living amidst nature was refreshing and peaceful.
Booking was tough as the web portal opens post 12 AM. Need to watch it closely to get room availability. Unsure why it is made so tough.
Food and staff were good. Gopal and others were helpful and courteous.
