The food is great. Especially the mutton kotha & ruti. But service is slightly high & food is slightly costly. But you should try there mutton, it is totally worth paying for.
The concept of " piece hotel" has two school of thought, one is, you have to purchase everything from the use and throw plate and glass to your food. Another is, it is very cheap. In my openion, Hotel Priya falls under the first catagory. Food is very tasty and reasonably priced. Will get various types of fish on a regular basis, namely rohi, katla, parshe, pabda, mourola, chingri/ prawn, chitol etc along with egg, chicken and mutton. Very congested and small area inside. Will not get any desert items, to me, it's a drawback to finish a full course lunch or dinner. Located at a very strategic place of a big market place, Hatibagan and Shyambazar.
Loved all the bengali dishes. Prices are reasonable. Sukto, Murighonto, and Rui macher jire Bata jhol, ei gorome mon bhuliye deoa khaoa daoa. Thank you Priya hotel. Cleanliness is having some issue but I don't mind when I have all these favourit dishes with awesome taste. Pls convey my sincere thanks to the chef.
An authentic pice hotel with a charm of North Kolkata. Located in fariapukur, Shyambazar area, they offer varieties of bengali food in a much reasonable price. Seating arrangement is a bit congested which can be overlooked by the food quality. Varieties of fish items is provided in the menu. Chicken and mutton items are also available. Behaviour of the staffs is good. Card, cash and UPI Mode of payment is acceptable. Parking of vehicle can be an issue during the rush hours. Overall, a nice place for traditional bengali food in a reasonable price.
Shyambazar is not bad among hotels in Hatibagan region. But if you look at the price, it is quite expensive. Veg plate Dal, rice, vegetables, sixty taka. Separately 5 rupees have to be paid for leaves, rice and lemon. Both chicken and mutton are good to eat. A wide variety of fish is available. It is thought that it is good to eat. Dry and regular curry dals are not bad. Which is the most annoying. The place is very small. Bag helmet should be kept separately. It is difficult to get a seat during rush hours. But, another is waiting. The staff especially the manager Arjun. He is very misbehaving at times. Owner and It is as if they are making a sacrifice by eating. And if you don't pay a big bill, you won't be happy.
The hotel is very good, Bengali food is available here, Bengali food is called authentic Bengali first.to eat The food here is very tasty and the seating is very less on holidays so it gets crowded.
Fresh and best Lunch in Shyambazar/Hatibagaan Area. I will give 4 stars to the food they served me. For rest, attaching the pictures, Decide it by yourselves
We went there during lunch time, the place is small and can accommodate around 18-20 people at a time. Food quality and quantity is good. However price is bit higher side compared to the place, food and services. Not much cheaper like pice hotels but also not that expensive like AC resturants. Its very hot and humid inside during summer and monsoon time. Fishes are fresh, mutton and chicken items are well cooked. Must try their mutton kasha along with tandoori roti.
Very bad ambiance and very bad behaviour of the resturants woner and staffa as well Taste of the food are good but seating area is too small price is also high Not even know a man they are eaten my food who is sitting beside me an unknown person they are not give you the minimum time to eat Really a very very bad experience dont go there waste of money.
Excellent fresh food. Lunch menu is more elaborate with collection of Bengali dishes, both vegetarian and fish. Dinner is simpler with much less of choice. But whenever you go, freshness of food is assured. Not a nice place to sit and eat. No AC, no proper ambiance, it's a very local food joint. I suggest to take away. Taste you'll relish, at a price that will not burn hole in your pocket.
This used to be a less than modest eatery some years back and slowly they have grown in reputation by adding multiple dishes. The seating arrangement is very limited. The food is kind of average and nothing to be too excited about. It is decent. The quantity is laughable
The good old charm of North kolata. Calling it 'hidden gem' might sound like exaggeration and i might be biased due to the old memories around this place, but given a chance i would always like to give it a shot. PS: Mutton chaap is a must try.
It's a basic pice hotel. Fish and chicken are fresh although the preparation could have been better. Few of the items were cold. Price is a bit more in comparison to other pice hotels.
This is both a takeaway with sitting arrangements to taste the north indian food delicacies ranging from Biriyani, kebab, tandoori, rumali roti, tandoori roti and tandoor dishes. Day time sumptuous lunch one can have with different variety of fish dishes with rice, dal, sabji, posto, chutni and many more. Homely environment to enjoy really the lunch or dinner. Very popular in North Kolkata.
Varieties dish available here, specifically fish dishes are good, apart from that biryani, tarka rumali roti, normal roti and different mutton and chicken dishes are also served here, food quality is good and costing per dish is moderate.
A Bengali cuisine lover must give a visit for lunch. Speciality dishes of fish are made with good quality ingredients. Must try bhapa ilish, mutton, prawn with vegetables, dal with fish bone (mudo ghontal), sukto and many variations of bhaja.
