Hotel The Sojourn

It is hard to rate an establishment in this trying time. The main restaurant's air conditioning was not functioning, so we sat on the ground floor cafeteria, to have our lunch. The location is prime and can be easily accessed. The seating arrangements are also very comfortable. We ordered mainly Chinese cuisine, which was okay at most. I had way better Chinese foods in Kolkata for the same price. Though the non-alcoholic cocktails and the starter were great. Price-wise I would place this restaurant in the moderately expensive category, though nothing unexpected. The quantity of food was aplenty and one bowl can easily be served for two (moderate eaters). What I liked most is the behaviour of those who waited for us. He served diligently but never intrusive to break our family moments. They tried to accommodate our every request though I must point out that none of our requests was 'abnormal per se. The foods were hot and freshly prepared. The lamb meat preparation was better than the gravy noodle I ordered. I would suggest the rice items over noodles. The Rice item was prepared better than the noodles.

The hotel is located on main road opposite salt lake stadium. Nice view if you get top floor and front room which I believe is the executive ones. Staff is very nice and helpful. Rooms are well equipped. The only negative is the food. Prices are too high for a hotel of this stature and the taste is not up to the standard of Kolkata city.

Prompt delivery, courteous staff and pleasant quiet ambience. We ordered fish and chips, coffees and butterscotch ice-cream. All the items were well presented and superb in taste to say the least.

Location is very good, well connected to the city as well as to the airport. Though the property is small its quite cosy, comfortable and clean with courteous staff. Altogether it's value for money.

Nice hospitality and staff service, good food, We tried a dish of Kolkata Vetki which was delicious. Tandoor items are also very good. They have a very nicely arranged bar, and in happy hours, they serve 2 with one free liquor. No idea about their lodging system but staff service seems to be very satisfactory.

This was my one of best hotel in Kolkata. Everything was like a home atmosphere and behavior of all staff was excellent. I wish to came here again & again.

Had dinner at the hotel last night and each and every dish was brilliant.what a perfect blend of spices they had! It was an experience. Super delighted with the hospitality and the food quality.

Rooms are almost to the Ok as well as food, but the cost for both of them are quiet high according to the quality. Specially the food costs are pretty much high.

Location is absoultely best for the patient's family who are admitted in Amri Salt lake. Walking distance from hotel to main Amri Salt lake hospital is a matter of only 2 to 3 minutes.

Just Ok. Just an upgraded version of your average home. Neat, clean, very well located but, not something to gloat about.

Very good service by staff. The rooms are big enough for 2 person. Also the location of the hotel is very good.

Good. But WiFi is not OK. Ash tray sometimes not available into the guest room. Authority should more careful about it.

A wonderful hotel to stay. A courteous staff and well furnished room. We got a stadium facing room, it was quite good. Food was good though a tad expensive by Calcutta''s standards. Location, bang @ the right place, accessibility wonderful. Service staff quite helpful. Will stay there on my return to Calcutta (i still prefer to the call the city by its old name). Would have liked to have complimentary airport pick-up/drop. Will highly recommend to all to stay here
