Please dont, it's a non ac and have killing environment inside the Hall. I think cenema hall association must heve to inspect and do the needful. It's not a complaint, it's just a experience.
One of the old theatre sentiments in Kolkata situated near Hajra crossing. It is a two minutes walk from Jatin Das Park metro station. This is close to the main road. The ambience inside the corridor and the stairs is nostalgic with a lot of posters from the golden age movies. The rear stall is now closed for quite a few years and only balcony is operative with Rs. 50/- movie ticket. This is one of the very few single screen movie theatres operative in Kolkata now a days. There is a little cafe outside the hall but offers a few snacks with tea or coffee. But the inside architecture needs maintenance and renovation to attract more audience. The seats and inside ambience should be improved. The screen is large and sound quality is good. But the screen is not free from spots and should be cleaned with immediate effect. The washroom is well maintained. There are some Chinese restaurants adjacent to the place.
Among the few cinema halls that have survived the clutches of promoters in Bhavanipur region, this cinema hall is my favourite. Although the authorities are running the hall with a handful of visitors, I don't know how long this loss will count. As long as Indira is there, I will try to go to the cinema together with Indira. Jai Indira
