Indthalia

It was a wonderful experience. Located at Hindustan Park, lane opposite to Basanti devi college, it will serve your taste with the language it knows best, food and that too without burning a hole in your pocket. The amount served is more than sufficient. We had a really good experience being there. Would recommend every one to visit Indthalia.

On the right hand corner of road opposite to Basanti Devi College (Women) near Gariahat Junction (South Kolkata) is the eatery 'Indthalia'.

We visited today, i.e. Monday (30/10/23) afternoon, keeping our vehicle parked on Rashbehari Avenue itself!

Maybe owing to our odd timing, the traffic inside the restaurant was nil, barring us!

This made us more sceptic about the experience that was about to happen, since the existing reviews that we referred prior to coming over, mostly rated 'Indthalia' mediocre where the stars hovered between 3-3.5!

We sat at the ground floor and found
the place to be spacious with a transparent glass facia in front.
This see through facia provides a road side view of the life that passes by.

Inside, we found the seating arrangements to be adequate, comfortable and simple.
The color schemes on the walls, alongwith the inside brandings were gelling well with the decor!
The audio system was playing popular music at a pleasant level.
The menu card offered multicuisine, the design & layout of the card was basic & robust.
Same with the cutleries, no frills yet clean & sturdy to serve the purpose!
Table linens were clean and of solid color schemes.

The young lad (wearing spectacles) who took our orders and served, was extremely courteous & well behaved. He seemed to us like a PG student serving customers with a smiling face!
Even the others who chipped in whenever this Spec_Chap was busy, they were all very soft-spoken and polite!

We ordered for the following:
1. Fish & Chips (Fish Fry on menu card).
2. Achari Kebab (Chicken).
3. Indthalia Special Clear Soup (mixed).
4. Garlic-Cheese Toast.

Service was real prompt, may be owing to the low footfall at that time, or may be they are generally prompt.
I'm unable to clearly comment on this, (since this was our first visit to Indthalia), however based on our first experience, we have consensually rated the service at 'Indthalia' with 5 Stars!

Now few words about the key component of an eatery, i.e. The food!
My wife clicked few photos of the food items which I have uploaded here.

The food was sumptuous, delicious and truly value for money!
We enjoyed the food so much so, that both of us instantly agreed to rate 5 stars to it's food (based on what we ordered and consumed)!

To sum up, I can say that 'Indthalia' is a nice family dine-in place, which offers quality food at reasonable price with customer friendly services in a comfortable ambience and at a very convenient location.

Personally, I look forward to exploring this place more & more with my family.

One of the worst restaurant I have ever experienced. Food quality is so so but ambience and service is very cheap very very poor.

Great place to stop by while travelling; everything is neat and tidy, the food is quite good and the staff are friendly.

Lost it's past glory. I use to visit scence 2018 onwards. But now all almost mess. Some foods are till very good. Must try different soups and cheese garlic bread. Pocket friendly starter restaurant. It's now from awasome to downgrade to moderate.

Very good place to dine out. Teasty menus, reasonable price. Very good location to drop during shopping in Gariahat.

Overall great experience. Food was tasty and amount was good. Prices are reasonable. We went during pujo time, so there was a rush, otherwise everything was appropriate.

The food was very delicious and fresh at the time of durga puja.and staff behaviour was also good.

Awesome food. Must go place. Delicious malai cheese chicken kabab, mouth watering mixed chef special fried rice and scezuan Chicken. Too much love for the place. Calm, cozy and best at taste. Price is average. Will go again for sure. A great treat to taste buds! ️

Quite good. Quantity is very good. Taste wise decent ofcourse. And the change in the menu is appreciation worthy.

Though I have a mighty appetite, but this cafe has fulfilled my mouth as well as taste. Superb in quality and quantity both, reasonable price also.they serve nice and tasty food in Puja time so nothing to say much. I recommend this cafe restaurant. Polite attitude from both supervising authorities.

We went in looking for quick snack options.
While few options were unavailable, our few orders turned out to be great.

One of the most delicious chilli Paneer I ever had. The restaurant is very simple and quite. The interiors are okay not so lavish but yes, the food was superlicious. I just loved the food. Pocket pinch is slightly upper not that much. You will get proper place to spend time with your family or partner. Service may improve more but not a matter of concern where food is good and price is reasonable, nothing matters much. The location is also very good. Overall a must visit restaurant.

We booked banquet on the 1st floor. Very tasty food and very good customer service. Truly 5***** service.

Should have added more items for festive times. I got a little variety on this puja. And non-spicy lovers, like me. This place might be not suitable for you during Durgapuja times. Everything was just too spicy. Apart from that, the food was good.

We had ordered baked fish but it was awful. They had put in milk thee ws no herbs quality of cheesecwas parhetic. Worst part no1 was even willing to listen

I have been visiting Indthalia since my college days just for their awesome fish fries and some coffee.
The ambiance is good and you can actually talk with your friends or partner peacefully.
When you are around Gol Park on a rainy day, make sure you visit this place for a good time pass.

Indthalia is few of the really good resturants I would say. The service of the people here is nice and patient. The food is undoubtedly good. Serves is withing the expected waiting time.

Nice decor & a warm ambience. Good food with proper options for both veg & non - veg cusine. Waiters are courteous. A word to the wise though, be absolutely certain and steadfast about what you want for desserts. They tend to provide some other dish in the place of something else you ordered, but won't deny not having it.

One of the best restaurants in the area which is well known for its food joints. I have been to Indiathalia several times now and never have I been dissatisfied with the service or the quality of food. The Golpark branch has more options on the table compared to thr Gariahat branch but food quality is top notch in both. I would highly recommend this place.

Horrible food, terrible service and the Chinese we ordered was nothing close to Chinese dishes. The prawn soup was salty and bland. The roadside Cjeinese tastes better than what is served at Indthalia!

It is placed opposite Nazrul Manch, 2 Southern avenue. Its nearer to BASANTI DEVI college. Visited this place during Durga puja. This is a nice restaurant with finger licking food. Ambience is good. Ordered green peas polao and chili chicken. I know that combination was quite odd but we gave a try and honestly it was not so bad because that time we were so hungry so forget about combination

Great cup of Cappuchino for Rs 80, a price way more competitive than other coffee outlets. The French fries were great as well. Located just off Gariahat market, so good place to grab a bite whilst marketing. Only thing lighting is too dim and depressing

Food is worst. Average waiting time to serve a couple with 2-4 orders would take 45mins. U will feel to kill urself.

Had chicken hakka noodles and plain garlic chicken. Took time to prepare, and in a way it is good for health to give time to prepare a dish. The food quality was extraordinarily pleasant. Prices were standard and not a pinch in the pocket. Quantity of the side dish though felt very less for three heads. Then again, a plate of garlic chicken is generally meant to be consumed by two people, and not three. Overall ambience was soothing to the eyes and ears.

Ambiance was nice and likable.but food wasnt upto the mark fish finger was served well but was a undercooked in the middle. The mixed rice was a bit dry and the sweet and sour chicken wasnt upto the mark at all. Stars only for ambiance.

Not to be repeated. Food was ordinary. One can't get cold drinking water in this restaurant unless one orders bottled water! Waiters are unenthusiastic.
