Amazing host by Sujit with excellent recommendation. Conjee crispy veg was to die for and excellent pomfret. Will surely visit again

Lighting atmosphere.
During Durga pooja it was awesome.
A Lady at the reception greeted us despite 12 midnight she gave us an opportunity to have dinner.

Everything about this place is good. The staffs are extremely well mannered. Coming to the food each time we went there the food served was fresh and every item tasted excellent. We tried kung pao chicken, crispy mushroom and egg fried rice. The place is beautiful also wide range of cuisine available here.

Visited for first time. Overall good. Food taste is good. Have variety of Indian and continental cuisine.

Went to Jaisalmer Sonar Kella restaurant for a nice lunch! The atmosphere is good. We ordered Murgh Lasooni kebab as starter. That was good in taste. In main course ordered Awadhi Pulao and Butter Murgh. The polao was not properly cooked. It was a mixed fried rice with lots of spice type. Butter murgh was so so. We are disappointed.nothing special there. Server are good!

In the eve of Poila Boishak went to Jaisalmer Sonar Kella Restaurant with my family. The food was horrible.none of the items were good enough to eat.each item contains lots of sweetness …I took chicken Biriyani which had no taste at all …. Masala kulcha was very bad indeed…soup was extremely horrible only watermelon mocktail was decent …paneer tikka was not a paneer tikka…it was something else …could not eat anything in the table due to the poor quality of food.finally asked the waiter to make parcel of everything and brought at home …probably will give them to the road side doggy’s …total waste of money. I want my money back …. Plz keep an experienced cook in the restaurant and serve good quality of food.

This is the worst restaurant i ever visited. My whole dinning experience was pathetic. The staff didn't behaved properly and sweets were of 3rd grade quality. No taste in buffet.
Please Please don't go to this place. It will be one's worst experience.

Jaisalmer houses one of the beautiful properties in the city to dine in with some best delicacies which you can relish in an ambience worth experiencing.

Talk of the food and you have Chineese, Oriental and Indian cuisine to try from here.

Coming to the starters, you can two of their signature chineese delicacies -

Chilli Lobster: Lobster meat scooped out and turned into delicious balls fried and tossed in sauce is something you would fall in love with if you're ordering this dish! Definitely a must try if you wish to try something exotic.

Basket chilli kai - Dry chilli ckicken served in a crispy basket is another delicacy at this place.

When choosing baans or any sort of Indian bread, don't forget to accompany it with two of the best gravies I had at this place -

1. Mutton bhuna - Mutton cooked to perfection in a rich and moderately spicy gravy will go really well with all sorts of Indian bread.

2. Chicken Rara Punjabi - Yet another Checken preparation with creamy and buttery gravy, this will make you drool really hard.

That said, Jaisalmer - Sonar Kella also provide banquet services for receptions, engagement and parties besides serving as a fine dining restaurant.

Good food and a grand ambience - that's Jaisalmer for you!

The food was definitely amazing, however very unmanageable staff. The place was full with kids who were running all around the restaurant and all of a sudden approaching towards our plates/tables. Complained quite a number times but still no action or statements been delivered to their parents or handle it properly.

I loved the ambience. Nice comforting food. The portions are big with a lot of variety on the menu.

I don't know why thy have named it Jaisalmer, thy should be named as frauds. Cuisine has nothing to do with the name.

Had a very bad experience with ambiance, food and service. Overall total waste of money on rotten food. Yes, Thy serve rotten fish and prawn.

The rates are different on dineout, zomato gold and resturant menu card. Thy change the rates as soon as u use some app to make payments.

Overall NOT RECOMMEND AND BIG WASTE OF MONEY.

Been there on saptami night. We ordered mutton biryani and chicken biryani and butter Nun also Chicken Bharta.all the food items tastes well. Behaviour of the staffs are really good. We even ordered some beer and whiskey there. Great place to eat mughlai khana.

Ambience is good. Food is ok ok and quantity is very good. But service is very poor. I took the buffet option and the food was brought to table but the food delivery takes very long

A fine dining restaurant with lavish decoration and elaborate menu, continental, oriental as well as Indian.
We tried:
Chicken peri peri: perfectly cooked chicken tossed in super spicy peri peri sauce paired with flavorful rice and garlic butter sauteed vegetables. Highly recommend for spicy food lovers.
Bhatta wala momos: The best tandoori momos I have tried in Kolkata. Tightly packed huge momos coated with tandoori mix and smoked well. Highly recommend
Rawalli tawa fish: Instead of bread crumb coating this is coated with semolina and the best part is the thickness. As you can see in the video it is super juicy and wholesome. Highly recommend
Watermelon mojito: Fresh and refreshing, you can also try out a range of drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic.
Basket chicken sky: Soft chunks of chicken fried and tossed in sweet and spicy sauce, loved it. Recommend
Grilled fish in butter garlic sauce: This dish is a beautiful piece of art. Flavourful mashed potatoe topped with well grilled fish steak tossed in butter garlic sauce and herbs, paired with sauteed vegetables. Recommend
BBQ sizzler: This dish is not much spicy rather sweet but flavourful. BBQ chicken steak paired with rice and sauteed vegetables on a beautiful buttery sizzle. The quantity is not much but the smokey flavor was amazing.
Sizzler brownie ice cream: Again the best sizzling brownie ice cream I tried. A big block of hot brownie topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream sizzling with chocolate sauce and cream, it was heavenly. Highly recommend
P. S: placing the brownie on a lettuce leaf was a bad idea, I think.
The ambiance will remind you of the royal places from Rajasthan, this place also offer bookings for small gathering.

The food is more concentrated towards the North Indian, Grills & Continental category. Jaisalmer even has a open bar and hookah for their customers
All together a great place to enjoy Mutton or Chicken biriyani with your friends & family

This is one of my favourite place in sec V area to have North indian food. This time we tried -
•Wine marinated ajilo prawns
•Maharani Bhog
•Charcoal Murgh - recommended
•Murgh lasooni kebab - recommended
•Jaisalmer Maharaja Bhog

Starters were really amazing specially the Charcoal murg and Lasooni kebab. Even the Maharaja Bhog (thali) was really good, with great quality and quantity. Ambiance was great. Service was fast. Overall a recommended place.

I don't like writing an essay in the name of review. So I'll keep it short, simple and crispy.

Let's talk about ambience first. The ambience is pleasant, tidy and hygienic. You will love it. Here comes the food part. The food has been indeed palatable. The staffs are well behaved, but they are novice. They know what to do, but they are not organised. In a nutshell, it is a place with good ambience as well as excellent food. The quality and the quantity are pretty good.

P. S: It will be closed soon. One of the staffs stated this aforementioned statement. Veracity of this statement has not been verified. Hurry up, if you're a gourmet.

It was my first visit to Jaisalmer restaurant. I was little sceptical about the food quality before visiting, as it was Durga Puja time rush. But they proved me wrong. I ordered food from a la Carte menu (again surprised because most of the restaurants are only offering buffet or thali during Puja time). I ordered pan fried chilli fish, butter naan and mutton Rogan Josh and fresh lime soda. All the items were perfect and very fresh.the behaviour of the staff is very good. Only scope for improvement is the cleanliness. All-over it was a really good experience. I will visit again soon.

Worst food, worst behavior of the owner or manager, worstest restaurant in the city. Never visit here guys.specially the food is really really bad

The restaurant is in Salt Lake Sector 5. It resembles to a palace in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan from out side. Food is good and the staff are courtesious

Jaisalmer - Sonar Kella

The Royalty and Majestic Cuisine of Rajasthan brought to you in Kolkata by Jaisalmer, Sonar Kella. This double storeyed restaurant is located in Globsyn Building, Sector V, Bidhannagar.

This place is decorated with sculptures of Rajasthani locals, camels and tall pillars. They have very comfortable seating arrangements, their ambience gives you a vibe of being in a palace.

They serve some amazing kababs and mocktails. Murgh Lahsooni Kebab was the best among them. The leg pieces were tender and marinated with curd and lots of ginger.

Also tried their Lachha Paratha with Laal maas and Chicken Rara Punjabi. The Mutton Biryani they served was one of the best in town. Juicy, large pieces of mutton were covering the Biryani.

This place also serves as a banquet for any of your occasions. This place can easily accommodate about 90people at once.

Located in Sector v, Globsyn Building "Jaisalmer" a Piece of Magestic Rajasthan at the heart of Kolkata. This place will definitely give you a chance to realise a variety of cuisines along with the nostalgia of Sonar Kella. With a large seating capacity this place can easily accommodate 100 people at once, so it's a great place for a small get together and office party. They have quite a diverse menu from North Indian to Italian to Continental & a large collection of sea food like Prawns, lobster and Crabs, you will get all of it here. You can also avail their Buffet at a very reasonable price. We tried some of their signature dishes like:

Worst dining experience ever. Waited for over more than one and half hour for seating but they didn't provide us. Then they said seating won't be available. Somehow they provided us 6 seats for 9 people. Food was ok ok. Service was worst. Served food on our own. Worst experience ever.

Food was good as per the quantity and quality. Just the service was not upto the mark. They had closed the diner on the ground floor which could be troublesome for people with some challenges (like pregnant ladies, old people, etc). Now coming to the response of the staff, they would hardly listen to you at once. You need to call them repeatedly for the service (which should not be the case in such a reputed restaurant). Washroom was not properly cleaned (could see cockroaches around). Tissue papers in washroom were lying around.

Nice veg non veg restaurant with ground floor and 1st floor seating arrangement, they have improved food taste after lockdown

Worst experience, I ever have in any big restaurant, if ur group size is less than 6 and don't want to have liquor, than never visit, they will not cater u properly. Service is too bad and too much slow.

Not sufficient quantity, taste is average.they takes 5% service charges where they don't provide that kind of service.not satisfied.

Worst food, fish tikka was totally raw in the middle of the piece, crispy froed chicken had only crisps no chicken, all the dishes werr equally unpalatable, i can cook way better than them at home.

Not a good experience. In comparison to what they are charging for dinner buffet (750/- + gst), food quality is way below par. Only item which was well cooked and tasty - chicken biriyani. Rest of the items were unacceptable.

Pathetic service. Extremely rude staff. No sense of hospitality. My order was not taken even after calling for the staff for at least 15 times. Had to leave the restaurant without any food on our table.

Just been their. The waiters are very low grade. And their wordings and behavior is even more worst. Will never suggest anyone to go their. Avoid this place if you don't want to spoil you mood and time.

It was a nice experience but I felt like food taste could be better. However the overall service was great. Location is between the IT hub of Kolkata. Salt Lake sector 5, the price is affordable.

My overall experience was very good. Each and every item was very tasty.

Ambience was nice. Staff's behaviour was very polite in nature.
I booked a table from Eazydiner app, so I got 25% discount also.

It's good. We had ordered for special mutton biriyani which had two mutton pieces egg and obviously Kolkata special 'Alu'. But the thing is the biriyani doesn't have the authentic Kolkata biriyani taste. But they have us a huge quantity and sufficient for 2 people. Overall it's a good experience but we had expected a lot more.

Decoration- When you enter in this place you get that full on Rajasthani vibes. At the entrance there are two camels along with a man & a boy. Now, open the door! Here is the big sitting lounge for dine in. Everything is so soothing to the eye as well as mind.

Food- In this place two types of buffet are served. Price are- For Veg: Rs. 597/-. For Non-veg: Rs. 777/-. I opted for Non-veg buffet. It includes-
️ Firstly they served Fresh Like Soda.

️Starter: For starters they served-
Babri Aloo, Murgh Amritsari Kebab, Hariyali Fish Tikka, Fish Salt & Pepper, Chicken Gold Coin.

️Mains: In main course menu the items were- Baby Potato Hot Garlic, Paneer Butter Masala, Methi Matar Malai, Murgh Makhani, Kung Pao Fish, Dal Makhani, Veg Hakka Noodles, Dum Murgh Biryani, Basanti Polao & different types of Breads.

️Dessert: The most sweetest ending was presented by Chocolate Brownie, Gulab Jamun, Icecream, Payasam.

️Veg Corn Soup, Green Salad, Pasta Salad, Aloo Chaat, Papad, Chatney were also there.

Staffs' Behaviour- Staffs were courteous & very much attentive.

Come & have the awesome Rajasthan experience.

The food was good and the service by the waiters was also very quick and efficient. You can without a doubt try and come to this place for any sort of gathering of friends and family. I felt like the quantity of the food was not too much but it makes up for it with its taste.

Ambience is nice. Food is below average. I ordered biryani for RS. 250, there was no raita with it. Biryani was plain, bland and oily.

One of the most horrible experience we ever had.unprofessional staff, specially the manager.food is below average.maintainance issues.trully they spoiled our evening.never recommend anyone to visit that worst restaurant.

A good family restaurant at sector v salt lake. But if u are going with the name "Jaisalmer" then dont expect a rajasthani or jaisalmeri food here. Though they have a pinch of jaisalmeri decor on their first floor but still that will not be enough to make u feel "Jaisalmer".

The buffet is really good and with the gourmet pass it's really cheap. The food is very tasty. The starters however could be better and there's a whole lot of starters, so if you munch on less of those you'll be able to enjoy the actual main course and dessert, which are way better than the starters.

The fish was tasteless. Horrible taste (Katla). Charged Rs. 180 extra for two table spoons of Raita when asked for with the dry Biryani.

Food quality is not upto the mark.infact I visited the restaurant in poila baisakh with my colleagues and the surprising thing is AC is not working.and when complaint to the manajor then he said sir AC is running like this only.so u have to manage.
So my opinion is if u r not able to give good service then first work on that then think about restaurant buisness

AC condition is very bad. We have ordered chicken tengri kabab and fish kabab. Fish is not good and it seems very old. Chicken biriyani tastes average. Chicken piece in biriyani is Dissatisfying. Fish side dish was horrible.

The restaurant is named "Jaisalmer". But it just does not have any Rajasthani cuisine. We had Chicken Rara Punjabi and the chicken was not fresh at all. Service is pathetic and Managers are complete idiots. They will badger you to have the dish they think is better. NOT A Rajasthani THEMED restaurant.
Instead of wasting money at this place.please have roadside egg tadka and chilli soya opposite to this place. Worst restaurant and service. Thank me later.

Its a great place to have buffet dinner/lunch. Even you can get drinks here. There is a option of unlimited drinks with unlimited startes @999/head for 2 hours. Thats a great option to have. Even the buffet is for 840/head. Great food, elegant environment, a perfect family restaurent.

Given many chances to this restaurant but only got disappointments. Glass box restaurant without service experience.

Food is good after their renovation in 2018. Service is not awesome but will do. They look at wallet before offering service.

Hygiene is still big challenge. They cannot control flees over food. You can easily detect stale food that they mix with fresh dishes. Unethical business.

Indeed one of the places where you can have fine dining at a much cheaper rate than any places in Kolkata.
The place is situated right at the heart of the economic zone of Kolkata. The restaurant is well located from outside. The interior and ambience of the restaurant is made to have a vibe of traditional yet comfy. The staffs and manager was well behaved and knows the courtesy of hospitality.
The food here is amazing. We tried kebabs and chicken pahari. They have a great variety of drinks to choose from and the staffs do suggest you according to your choice and budget. A big thumbs up for the entire team of Jaisalmer.

They don't provide any finger bowl and they don't even have a separate washbasin rather it's attached with a bathroom which is not even clean too

Great Ambience, Was surprised to see it empty on a Friday Afternoon. Had ala carte. The food tasted great, specifically the Kebabs. Service was a little slow

Hotel ia good in interiors and exteriors. But the most important thing "Taste". Which i did not found on any food. I book this hotel for buffet they give only 3-4 startrs. Maximum 10 main course item. And 2 desert item. If you want to book buffet. Must try. BBQ on salatlake only.

It's upto the mark but I'm not satisfied with the overall experience. It looks Jaisalmer is a expensive restaurant with a luxury dinning experience but actually it's empty half of the time. The food tastes good and ambience is pretty much okay.
Must try 'Lal maas' if you visiting this place. They also have buffet for lunch and dinner

The ambiance of the restuarentbis very comfortable and cosy. The quality of the food is too good. The kebabs are highly recomended!

Food was decent, but other amenities like washroom was very bad, temperature wasn't controlled which made it uncomfortable.
