The most popular Mughlai and North Western Frontier cusine joint at City Centre, Salt Lake. Ambience is as good as the food and the food and the service is really fast. Hard drinks are also available.

This was my first visit to Kaafila. Had heard a lot about this place from my friends. But unfortunately my own experience fell short of a 5 star experience. The food was decent. I had some chicken starter, mutton galauti kebab, with garlic naan, and they all turned out pretty good. Then I had some chichen biriyani which I didn't really liked, didn't lived up to the expectations built by the earlier dishes. I also had a cocktail - some cherry cola whiskey - which I didn't found value for money for the quantity served or the presentation of the drink itself. So 4 stars from me. Hoping to have better experiences in the future.

Its an excellent family restaurant inside the main building of CC1 having wonderful and unique decoration all around. The food quality is fabulous. Considering the price of the food items I must rate it as an expensive one. However the overall environment, service quality pleased me so well to get a five star.

It has always been an amazing restaurant to visit if you're looking for some afghani ambience. The staffs are very courteous but the service may get a little bit delayed sometimes due to being overcrowded. The food is hands down amazing. I had chutney paneer tikka which was stuffed and had 6 pieces, chicken in starter and butter naan and cheese naan with tandoori chicken in gravy! It was an amazing experience overall.

Food very good. But place is small and congested with almost all tables full. Sitting comfort is moderate staff good. Food pricey a little but taste wise nice and quantity is filling.

Very superior quality of food, good service but never buy water bottle.ambience is great. Total afgan ambience you can feel. Best place for couple and family hangout both. Hard drinks are also available!

If you are a lover of kebabs and Afghani delicacies with their own blend of authentic spices. This is the right place.

Nice food. Good arrangement for covid situation. Food preparation time is more than others may be for current situation. Due to less light looks little darker.

Superb ambience, just as I liked. A little private with friends & obviously the taste of food is really delicious. A lil expensive but I hope my friends will love the place. For me highly recommended.

Kaafila located in City Centre, Salt Lake they serve Indian, Mughlai and Awadhi Cuisine. Their Kebabs and Tandoori are too delicious to resist and the Biriyani is also good. The pricing is pretty affordable and the ambience gives you feel of Kashmir and it's decor. A must visit place for Kebab lovers and yes, they serve alcohol so thats a plus.

I found a hair in the food and they simply refused to agree. I found it very unprofessional and demeaning.

Quality of food is outstanding and exquisite really.and behaviour of owner is very polite and decent.

Have visited this place before. Food standards are good as usual. Like the ambience & swapping. Bit diff than usual. Went with my family & it was perfect. Thanks.

The best places to have Kandahari Laham in kolkata. Biriyani a bit dry I fell not that good. Another must try is Bulaonee.a dessert. Overall a good option for North Indian cuisine. Lastly their behaviour. Its marvelous. I have left my atm there. And I asked them for my card at least 6 to 7 hours later. But their manager was so responsible that she personally took care of the matter.

Good food.on the expensive side.courteous staff.ambience also fine. Only complain. Why have fancy names for dishes when even your staff is unable to explain the difference between preparations.worth visiting.

Off the beaten track, a great find and very interesting food. Don't let the guns on the wall put you off.

Just Average. Not at all like the hype you will hear about it. Indian foods available but the flaws to mention are as below.
1. Price is in higher side.
2. The chicken in every dish is not juicy. Means the gravy do not enter inside or its not marinated properly. We ordered 3 types and all were of that sort.
3. Waiter do not know about the food properly. DONOT Expect any fruitful suggestions from them. You are responsible for what you order.
4. Mutton dishes are not upto the mark. Either too much smashed or not baked well. But the mutton in biriyani was good.
5. Strange is they do not have MURG MUSSALAM. Its one of the most important food of awadhi cuisine and they donot serve that.
6. Only 3 types of biriyani Chicken, Mutton and Veg. Thats all!

PROS: THE AMBIENCE

Hope you can decide now to visit or not. Would suggest to keep it in the third option as nearby you will find Oudh 1590.

This an Arabian Themed restaurant with an open bar at City Center 1, Salt Lake. Very good for corporate parties or with friends or families. They play Arabic songs in the background. The ambience is great. The staff is nice. Food is good but a bit overpriced. Waiting time for your order is a lot. If you're in a group and very hungry would not recommend. We went there for Team Lunch, had fun.

Food was good. Ambience was warm. But they tend to indirectly hurry you if you are still at your meals at 10pm

Amazing food. Kashmiri shikara type ambiance. But all good things ended up with a typical kitchen smell each time I visit. I found baby cockroaches moving around the table for several time. We complained them also. But the next visit again the same. Every time just for the taste of their food we consider the next visit. So I would recommend this restaurant to them who can only think of a good authentic food and not the ambiance nd hygiene.

You will have the best dining experience if you are a lover of Afghani food.
Had an awesome time in kaafila and the hospitality shown to us was the cherry on the cake.
Will definitely visit again.

We recently re-visited Kaafila restaurant in City Centre, Salt Lake. We had Galoti Kabab with Lachha Paratha as well as Kakori Kabab. Food was excellent and specially Galoti Kabab was excellent. Interestingly, the cocktail, Mojito, my wife tried was superb. Another cocktal Arabian spice with Vodka & flakes of Ginger which my brother tried was too good. The ambience was very good and the staff were very warm, specially, Basudeb took good care of us.

I was kind of disappointed during my visit this time. Firstly the interiors looked really worn out with the same decor and look. The feel was also nothing new. It's a favorite place of mine, so would request the management to give it a thought of overhauling the place.

Probably the best place for authentic northwest food in Kolkata. The ambiance teams up nicely, adding to your experience. Service is smooth. The beverage section is not greatly stocked though.

Visited the place just to have biryani and that too at odd hours still they served well. The biryani was also good and the people very soft spoken and well behaved! A quite and nicely decorated place worth a visit for a casualnpeaceful outing just to have some good food and spent a lazy evening!
