Amaazing food! The whole experience from start to finish is great & waitress (Ravi) is always so friendly and kind. The food here is good and the prices are fair for the portion size. Always a great spot to get great food.

Food quality in Astor has always been good but the service was pathetic! The time lag between serving one item and the other was at least 20 minutes, if not more.
Had christmas eve buffet with wine alongwith family.booked through eazydiner but discount was not provided by restaurant. 1. Food has variety, high quality n taste. 2. Service is adequate except few starters were served cold n undercooked. 3. Atmosphere has elegance is suitable for all including live barbeque n sitting arrangement.

Don't ever take the buffet. Worst service. Worst food except gratin and starters (which was good). They won't get you food until you ask them. Desserts were smelling bad and hard. The waitress seemed uninterested to serve. On complaining about the spoilt food - the manager said "This is all we have". A heritage hotel down the gutter. Will never visit again. You lost a loyal customer.
The food quality was mixed. The kebabs were really good. Biriyani was pretty average. Mutton dish was good, but it was more on the sweeter side. But the main problem of the restaurant is their service. You will always feel that they do not want you to be there. There was a serious lack in their welcoming behaviour, except at the time of leaving, which will again make you feel that now as you are leaving they are happy. They had a buffet option that day at lunch, which I believe is always there at the lunch time. But they never told us about the buffet option. So, we had to select the order from the menu. As we were there for the first time, so we asked the waiter to suggest some of their speciality, and he has no idea what to suggest. Now coming to the quantity of the food, the quantity of the biriyani is really less compare to any standard restaurant. I mean for some of the people, one plate may not be enough. But that is not the case with other dishes. So, you really need to keep on guessing the quantity of the dish which you have ordered. And trust me the quantity has nothing to do with the pricing of the dish.
Overall it's a place to have some good food, if you know what to order. Or maybe try the buffet, which we are going to try next time.
Went to Kebabeque yesterday with my family for lunch. As always, the North Indian cuisine was delicious. I would highly recommend you to try out the Astor Raan (a lip smacking main course of mutton, enough for 3 people) and also their LIIT. The service time was also quite impressive along with the courteous staff. Special mention to Chef Gaurav Das who made sure our food was served exactly according to our liking. Great job indeed.
Would highly recommend if you're looking for a fine dine experience especially in the north Indian cuisine.
Kebab - E- Que is all set with their Awadhi Cuisine, to indulge in the rich Awadhi culture through the medium of food named as Shaan- E- Awadh festival which will be live from 8th July-17th July. You will get the feel of a Nawab right from the starters to the desserts each of the dishes were just scrumptious The have a chef Vishal Thakur all the way from Agra who very minutely have designed this authentic Awadhi Festival's menu. The most unique item in terms of presentation was definitely the Afghani Mutton Ras and the starters were the classic ones which you can never go wrong with namely, Kakori kebab Murg Joojhe Kebab Murg Dum saunfia kebab Kaftan paneer Kachche kele ke kebab
Very rarely do you find kebabs which are this juicy and tender, the portion size compared to the price is quite inexpensive. And each of the kebabs taste significantly delicious in their own ways. The veg kebabs give quite a tough competition to the non veg ones it was that good. This was one such visit to a restaurant where I'll not be able to give any personal recommendations, all the dishes I tried were exceptionally good and none can be missed Now coming to the main course, how can we try Awadhi Cuisine without some biriyani hence tried out the Kachche Gosht ki Biriyani which was definitely the showstopper and omg the mutton in each of the dishes were extremely tender it just won my heart
Tried some other main course gravies along with some unique varieties of bread which are rare in Kolkata and trust me when I suggest you these combinations Awadhi Dum Gosht, Nawabi Murgh or Murg Nargisi with Sheermal/Pardah Naan/Chaman kulcha. The gravies were rich yet not extremely spicy/oily.
Ending this beautiful place on a sweetnote with some traditionally made Kesari Phirni and Muzaffar-e-Lachha Which were loaded with dry fruits and the sweet flavour was well balanced.

I loved the food served by them. I have taken VEG while my other friends took non veg. Both type are good. Bit expensive but if you use dineout app to book the table and ask them that you will be paying with dineout you will a discount.
Loved the place thoroughly. We went at this posh restaurant on a family occasion on 25th April, and opted for the buffet dinner. I must say each of the items on menu were impeccably subtle & delicious. From kebabs to fries, from nuns to pulao, and from soft roghan-josh to ceamy caramel pudding, everything was mouth-lickering. In addition, all of their staffs are much cordial and offer services throughout with smile. They even tried to match up with our custommade orders and we're not disappointed at all. Shall wait for the next visit. I'll definitely give ***** to them.
Hands down one of the top tier kebab places to dine in, in South Kolkata. We started off with the Non Veg Platter which has each of all the nonveg cuisines (Mutton, Chicken, Fish and Shrimps) and it was so fresh, so smokey, tender and oozing with flavour, it was like an explosion in the mouth. The Lamb Chop kebab was too spicy for our palates but it was extremely tender and the preparation was one of kind in kebab availability in Kolkata. Do visit, they will give you great food!
On 5th Dec 2021 I went to Astor, Kebab-e-Que for Sunday Lunch buffet with a Nearbuy voucher. To my surprise even On Sunday the Buffet was not spread as there were hardly any guest in the restaurant. They served the buffet on the table. Thy started serving Manchow Soup, Chicken Momo, Mutton Biriyani, butter Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal Makhanni etc. When I asked the lady (Floor Manager) that nearbuy menu items are different and asked for those items I was informed that only these items are available now. Most of the food items were cold. Foods were not not freshly cooked. Foods were reheated and served. Starters were also cold & tasteless. My 1000/- Rupees was fully wasted in their sub-standard stale buffet meal where most of the items were stale, old, tasteless and of very poor quality. I address the matter to nearbuy team but they did not refund my money
The Best buffet for the price I've had in Kolkata (Flame&Grill will be a close 2nd). The Kababs served here are outstanding, every single one of them is succulent, packed with flavor and served hot. Starter has 3 veg and 3 non veg kababs. The main course is impressive as well with Chinese, Indian, Continental items in the menu. Sweet dish had caramel custard, Nolen Gur er ice creme, Chana r Payesh. There were 2 shortfalls, however, one is the biriyani rice is not cooked well and lacked flavor while service was really slow.
Great kebab theatre menu was not disclosed to diner. Portion is very small for a diner with reasonable appetite. At the end of main course, one can discover that there's is no sweet dish to wrap the lunch. Overall disappointing from a legacy fine dining restaurant.
Food quality is good though Lemon Butter Fish served is not Betki. Quantity of of Prawn Kebab has been reduced and prawns are small. Biriyani is one of the Best in Town. Easily give run to famed Arsalan or so.
There is no doubt that this was one of the best durga pujo buffet spread in Kolkata. I found eache and everything that I love to have even the achars. The momo was so delicious like I never expected. There were over 90 + food items and it worth every penny

We were there yesterday for 'Saptami' dinner buffet with my friends and their families, we booked the coupons from nearbuy app where a elaborate buffet list was very eye-catching, But the reality is we never experienced this kind of worst service and teste-less food ever in any other kolkata buffet restaurant. They dont have any courtesy that when guest come serve with hot starters and hot food. But they provide us teste-less cold fries and foods that are much below average. Now come to teste all fries are cold teste-less Main-course was average, and the dessert teste like broughr from nearly cheap sweet shop. The shorbot and ghol was just pathetic. The ambience are crowdy no one following covid protocol. Total waste of time, money and Saptami evening.

I went for buffet dinner at Kebab-e-Que on Saptami with friends. We booked through Nearby apps. The taste of the food is Worse than the Worst. All starters were served Cold. Refill of Starters were very very slow. The amount they are charging is Tooooo much high given the quality of food they are serving. Probably this is the Worst possible Buffet dinner I have ever had in Kolkata. Please avoid going to this place. Don't be deceived by the Buffet menu which they are displaying.
Egg devil didn't have a bit of egg. Only the heads of the Prawn were there and body were missing. The Luchi was ice cold. Probably all stale food were served. The sweets were probably bought from a very cheap Sweet shop. Again I will suggest everyone to avoid going to KEBAB-E-QUE Buffet. We will get much better street food with that amount.
Been visiting here since childhood, quite disappointing this time. Place seemed seriously understaffed and while some dishes were still great like murgh tangdi kebabs, some other dishes with prawn tasted stale
Never go for Buffet. Its a total loss. Always go for a-la-kart the service in buffet is super low and cautious. Food is just okay but not at all buffet. Overpriced buffet with irrational offerings and service.
Established in one of the posh localities of Kolkata with a vintage touch to the exterior. The food is too much overpriced considering the taste of food. There are much better Kebab restaurants in Kolkata. But if ambience is the priority, do visit.
One of the best in Fine dining and ambience together. If looking for a quality time dining within City main, KEQ is definitely an option. If you wish to ensure that all goes well then plss Ask for Mr. Bhardwaj the Manager, and rest all will be a delightful experience
I am glad to rate 5 out of 5. Vintage look and ambience. Perfect place for Kebabs. Quite pocket friendly if you have vouchers. Don not miss makhmali paratha and non veg kebab platter there. Caramel custard pudding was awesome. Staffs are customer friendly. All dishes were freshly prepared and served hot at table. Separate smoking are is available outside with seating arrangements. One of the great place for dine out.
I've been looking forward to visit Kabab-e-que for a long time. Astor's "Phoenix" is a personal favourite of mine for their brilliant warm toddy. And now I have another reason to go back to this beautiful heritage hotel. The kababs were very fresh. We ordered Murgh Reshmi Kabab and the slight touch of ajwain in the mix made a great enhancement to the taste. In the mains, we had Murgh Tikka Masala and Dhingri Dolma Chutney waley with Butter Naan and Makhmali Paratha to go with them. What made the food a game hanger was the Makhmali Paratha. A perfect blend of sweet and savory. Went great with the chicken. Overall, a wonderful gastronomic experience.
Some of the items were just not upto the mark in the buffet which costs 1250 per person. So it's not worth it.a la carte is a better option. Otherwise great hospitality.

I had a lot of fond memories of this place - my father used to bring kebabs and tandooris from here and we loved this place for the awesome taste. For us, Astor's Kebab s Que was heavenly. But not today. We ordered kebabs and chinese and they were edible but did not have any flavor. We had tengri kebabs and fish malai kebab - both were raw. Rogan Josh was horrible - far from being authentic and unflavorful. The mocktails and sweet corn soup were good, but they were not kebabs! The place has become a ghost of its former self. And the price has gone up too. I don't mind paying as long as they live up to the taste. But it wasn't the case. One dish of chese tengri kebab with 3 leg pieces is priced at Rs 800. I won't be going back there again. It has let me down. RIP.
Food is good. Service is slow but definitely not bad. Taste is awesome and you can get varieties of dishes. Cost is little bit on higher side. Valet parking available.
Al a cart food portion sizes are miniscule. Plus check the invoice before paying. Drinks charge reasonable but don't try any cocktail, Absolutely horrible
This is another awesome place for a foodie to visit. The hospitality, the ambience and the service was really appreciable. Sometimes there is live music performances as well. So good food with a live classical music makes it better. The food was so drooling that i was unable to control myself to take pictures. I am uploading some of the pictures i clicked. But once again i will suggest everyone to surely visit the place.
To start with, it is a restaurant of the Astor Hotel on Shakespeare Sarani. The hotel is decorated in an ancient manner, complete with open spaces and red bricked walls. Kebab-E-Que is located on the ground floor of the hotel and serves Indian and Chinese cuisines. They have buffet available too apart from the a-la-carte menu. The service is very prompt and I used my Zomato Gold ID with a breeze. Coming to the food, we had ordered a couple of veg and non veg starters. The Dahi Kebab was very very dry, lacked any taste and was not worth it. The Tandoori Chicken, initially was very juicy, but turned out to be dry from the inside. But the spring rolls, hara bhara kebab and the Dal Makhani were good. Overall, it was a mixed experience, but definitely not a 5* one.
Executive lunch is a scam here and no service person knows about it.all the items are super costly so we decided to go for executive lunch which is a combo. Initially the waiter said it is SHARABLE. So we order executive lunch and a starter. We had the soup and starter first. Now it is time to choose the main course from the combo so we ordered two naans and two gravy and now the waiter says we cannot share the meal. I clearly remembered she saying that it is sharable because she said it is not that costly for you do. And now we have to pay for two executive meal, I just paid for the soup and starters which we had And left the hotel. Zero tips. After this the waiter started behaving rudely did not come to our table for picking up the bill.
