If you are looking for best lancha of Shaktigarh try this. This shop is owned by ancestors of Siddheswar Ghosh, one of the oldest and well known sweet manufacturer of Bardhaman / Burdwan District. The name of the shop is Lancha Bazar, it's opposite to Indian Oil Petrol pump on NH2, if you travelling from Durgapur towards Kolkata this shop is one of the first plot. Be aware of fake shop claiming to be Lancha Bazar. They have also opened shops on Jessore Road at Kolkata. Check their website for all information. Stay alert
OK.just average. If you are hungry driving across the Highway, you can satisfy your hunger at any of the joints in that Shaktigarh cluster. Known for the Sweet "Langcha", but these days you find better quality Langcha in the other corners of the state.
Shaktigarh brings into the table just average quality of Langcha and the other foods available.
This is one of those shops, where the real quality sweets are available. You will find many & too many in this location, but too choose the correct one, this will be helpful.
There are multiple shops here. Had a stop here for quick bite while enroute to kolkata and entered to the second shop from kolkata side. We ordered 4 plates of lancha & sabji. They served hot lancha. 4 nos per plate with a curry made of mixed with potato and pulse. It looked yummy and all of us started. However after a while 2 of us complained that there was a dead fly in the sabji. Wr called one of the guy working there and showed them the fly in the sabji then we reported to the shop owner he did not agree and said the fly would have fallen on the table itself.
We stopped eating further any further and came out, paid them and had tender coconut outside.
The BEST LANGCHA ever. It was so moist and appropriately sweetened. Such a wonderful experience. The mihidana, chhena poda and singara were equally delicious.
There are very less number of standard quality lodges in Krishnanagar. Asian Guest house and lodge fills this shortcum with pride. Budget hotel but pleasant stay, with parking place too
Famous places for Shakti Ghar er lancha. Other special items like mihidana and shitabhog also available. You can find salty snacks also. A hot spot for high way travellers.
A one of the good places at saktigarh, bardhaman to have saktigarh's special lancha, sitabhog, mihidana. You can get all those sweets at resonable price.
This is one of the food stops which one will visit if someone uses the SBSTC bus service between Asansol/Durgapur to Kolkata.
This is one of the few shops around this area which serves South Indian food- Idli, Dosa, Vada. I have tried the South Indian food here but was not happy with the quality. There is a high probability that the food will be not fresh. I would suggest someone to avoid the South Indian food here. Also I would expect the shop to improve on its quality. People can try out the samosa and langcha sweet or other food from outside vendors selling bread toast or egg toast, fresh coconut and fresh cucumber.
I would however suggest to taste the food before having a parcel as food may not be fresh.
Located besides the durgapur highway.lots of shops both the side.get various foods option. The main items is lancha, starting from RS 5 to RS 50 available there.percel facility also available.
If you want to test local traditional sweets, this is the place. Price is also affordable and above all it is located on a highway so easy to find and you do not have to go in a congested market place.
There are lot of options around for picking up the favourite sweet of yours. The Langcha sweets of Shaktigarh are very famous and indeed I have found, Shaktigarh 's Langcha's are pretty different and tastier than other places. But I would rate this shop as average among the many shops in the locality.
These are roadside eateries which were built over night to mint money at the cost of human health. Scattered with contaminated stocks and unhygiene kitchens, majority of the shops in Shaktigarh sells "Lengcha" a sweet once termed by bengali iconic super star Late Uttam Kumar in late 70's. It is from then this place became prominent with its name.
I won't deny the fact, these shops pull crowds who throughfare by this area yet neither the owners nor the customer give hood to cleanliness.
Lovely lancha but I hate to take, they all are fake makers (mean they use other quality materials in preparing this item) because whenever I take lancha at shaktigarh I fell sick! I may be wrong but I avoid! When I drive my car I never stop at Shaktigarh for lancha.:)
In langcha bajar, I haven't bought lagcha but i bought " Rosogolla " (rasgulla). They made limited amount and they are heavenly. In saktigarh, almost all shops have decent quality langcha. I would like to try langcha from there next time.
Great Taste of freshly made Langcha - The delicacy of Bengal. But there is still a scope of improvements in maintaining proper hygiene & clean restroom availability for people visiting the Lyangcha Bazar
Worst place to buy sweets. There are many sweet shops that have grown overnight in this location. Their only motive to cheat innocent customers and this is one of them.
Totally useless food.toilets are unhygienic. Not any food items are fresh. But still they claim to be fresh. The staff are too rude. I guess they talk slangs with their family members too. Totally filthy place.
Being a bong I love to eat sweets. So I love to have Langcha from this shop whenever I am traveling through Shaktigarh.you will get Langcha fried in dalda small size for RS 5/- & Bigger one Stuffed with Kheer For RS 10/-. The bigger ones taste better. Beside That You will get Mihidana, Sitabhog and both tastes pretty good and have a flavour of ghee. Must try this place.
Place is situated right on side of the Kolkata Delhi highway, distancing 90 km from Kolkata. Always full of travellers who are using it as resting stop.
Good sweet shop beside the G. T. Road at Shaktigarh. Quick visit there on the way to & from Kolkata, one will come across this shop and may like to get there.
Famous for lagcha sweets. Travellers stop at this market while passing by. But quality of sweets deteriorating day by day. Most important thing to specify is the pollution of the site. Shops are surrounded by dirt's and used plastic. Nobody is aware of flies and mosquitoes. Sweets are being prepared in unhygienic way by the side attached with toilet. Shopkeeper are only interested for selling sweets.
There are many shops selling Langcha and its hard to evaluate each other one of them. Our bus halted here, so giving a review. The shop is facing tough competition and is about to shut down. Only single person was selling sweets. The toilet is at the back of the shop and there are six dirty stinking urinals. Tea and baiguni was served for 5 rupees each. Few muri vendors were selling outside the shop. #sweetshop #langcha
Saktigarh is place in between Barddhaman and Kolkata. Lancha ghar is sweet shop at Saktigarh. THE MAIN PROBLEM IN THIS AREA IS DIRTY BATHROOM IN ALL SHOP. BASICALLY WOMEN AND GIRL CHILD MAY EFFECT BADLY IF THEY USE THE BATHROOM. GOVT AND ALL SHOP OWNER MAY PLEASE LOOK IN TO THE MATTER. ONE COMMODE MUST BE INSTALLED IN EVERY SHOP FOR THE OLD PASSENGERS. THERE IS ONE SANITARY INSPECTOR IN EVERY PANCHAYET. SANITARY INSPECTOR CAN VISIT EVERY SHOP ON MONTHLY BASIS. Shop owners may introduce little charge to use the bathroom. BATHROOM MUST BE CLEANED FOR OUR BETTER FUTURE.
You will get an exquisite taste of tradition that is well maintained for many years. It is always a delight to stop at this junction and taste the delicacy.
