Very good behaviour of staff and food quality same as home.and the room view is amazing.very quite place.perfect place for relaxation

If you want to stay aloof from the unwanted noises, disturbances, unnecessary honking of the car horns, you must plan a visit to Rishop, Kalimpong to rejuvenate yourself. The quaint hamlet perched on the top of a mountain at an average altitude above 2000 meters will not disappoint you. If you plan to visit there, I will recommend this 'Lovely Homestay' to you for lodging purpose. Just as the name suggests, the caretaker cum owner Mr. Dilip did not leave any stone unturned to make our stay 'Lovely'. The behaviour of Dilip ji as well as homely foods, organic tea added feathers to a crown which was already magnificent.

We stayed for one day, amazing property, amazing people, great food and everything you will be needing. Sadly could not meet Anupam da.will love to visit again.

Well lets start from the beginning.
If you are going to Rishop to stay away from commotion! This is the place. Rooms are beautiful, Dilip uncle his family and Abhisek works very hard to fulfil all your needs wants and tantrums with a smile. Food is fantastic and hygienic. If you are going to birdwatch! Its perfect as the garden attracts a lot of sunbirds, leothrix, finches and minivets.oh the star if the show will definitely be the verditer flycatcher. Its my 3rd time in Rishop i have stayed in all well-known homestays but this one is an underrated gem. Give it a try and shoutout to ANUPAM DA without him it wouldn't have been possible. Will be going back here again on March for birdwatching again.

This is a very bad hotel i have ever seen in entire rishop.
View is good.but the hotel owner and the staff behaviour is very bad.

We didn't have much time to lay out a plan this time for the Christmas - New Year holiday season but all the family wanted was an adventure or sorts and breathe easy in green serene surroundings. So we ended up zeroing in on a point on the map which seemed less crowded and planned to stay put in the same place for 6 nights 7 days covering the turn of the year.
Travelling in our home car form Kolkata to Rishop with 3 adults and 2 kids (8 and 2 years) kept me skeptical to the last day whether I'd be making a mistake choosing our transport medium or our length of stay in a place so varied from city life and that too in the peak of Indian winter.
Spoke to Anupam (who manages the place) over the phone who amicably advised me to hold off paying an advance before i was firm on the trip itinerary.

We ended up driving through the length of Bengal and arrived at Rishop after sun down on 27th only soon to realize that our family car with all the people and luggage won't probably be able to trek the jeepable last KM to the homestay. Was relieved to have Anupam arrange a pick up for us.

The next morning revealed the beauty that this place has in store.it was exhilarating though we were still getting acclimatized to the cold. Kanchendzonga stood so tall and golden in the clear sky, it felt magical in the morning sun.

I'll probably out-write this review if i delve much in the memories we have of that week so i'll try to jot down some pros and cons of the homestay.

Pros -
1. Not so commercialized, village-like life with farm animals and an abundance of home grown veggies which make to your table.if you like trekking or bird watching, your hands will be full of course.
2. Snowy the white mountain dog that the owners keep is a quiet chum who never minds a snuggle and my elder one still misses it.
3. Food - since we were in for a relatively long stay, the authorities obliged us to varieties; we're trying to replicate some of the local dishes at home now.
4. Kid friendly - a badminton space out in front, intermittent checks by the authorities on whether the kids needed anything prepared separately.kept us at ease.
5. Hospitality - very friendly people, easy to chat and share life learnings in an idyllic atmosphere. They'd arranged a new year performance at the dining space on the 1st of Jan to have an evening of merriment for the tourists and local families; they had ensured our necessities of food, transport, warm water and exploring suggestions were catered to timely. They even helped us trace and retrieve my little one's flask which we misplaced in one of the hired vehicles.

Cons -
1. Network connectivity - Airtel only.for others to work, wander off and maybe you'll get some.
2. Approach and exit roads - The road off the tarmac one is really for 4X4s and SUVs.so heed that else be light and real slow to avoid damage to your vehicle.
3. Room heating - bare-feet on the cold floor is tricky though a long stay like ours got us used to (forgot to pack my slippers)

Overall, thanks to the hosts Anupam, Kaka and the families surrounding the place for making it a memorable stay here.

Like most homestays, this homestay too has a great view overlooking the mountains. Reaching here would need a 4*4 wheel drive car with or without differential lock if one thinks about bringing their own car. Small cars if taken up here should have only the driver. We had taken our own small car and a loaded small car is difficult on this terrain. The roads are still not well made and it's difficult to reach. Though the view is worth every bit of the difficulty. One may hire a car while reaching this place instead.

The host and the people working with him are very very courteous and welcoming. They make note of all your needs and even help you in case you are finding it difficult to reach.

For internet usage and network availability, Airtel is the safest bet, de ent speeds of 10Mbps would be available in this area. Intermittently at times VI too provides some network coverage. If one is thinking about working from hills instead of home, one wouldn't have much of a problem. There is no network coverage of Jio over here, it's available a little on the higher ground.

It was the most dirty behavior by the owner Mr Dilip and the middle man anupam.
We went there to celebrate our 31st specially. They forced us to enjoy that night like them. They were badly lying by said lot of bad words. They even decides that when and where the guest will have their food! Guest have to take their dinner at their so called dinning within 9pm. Yiu have to take bath within 8 am otherwise you won't be provided hot water for bath even in this cold. It was very very dirty Experience staying at that property. We have to organaise our party outside the resort bu taking lot of difficult

This is my third visit to Rishyap. This time I went with my family. We check in to Lovely Homestay on December 30th and 31st as there was no other property available, and looking at the review and location I thought it would be a very good property to take my family. Yes, the property is probably very nice in a good location! But the behaviour is everything for me. I come here once a year because I like the behavior of the people here. But not every human being is equal. This time Mr. Dilip, the owner of Lovely Homestay, and the lease-owner or middle men Mr. Anupam proved it. When I check- in first, At first they was told thousand rules. I was a little confused and thought I was here to have fun for two days or to get admission in school. Yes I know It's an off-beat place, its an homestay, and there is a lot of villagers around this homestay. Since this is my third time, I already know about all the rules and I try to follow it every time.

I have a lot of complaints, I don't know how to say them in this sentences.but I'm trying.
1st: Mr. Dilip will not like it at all if you charge anything other than mobile in his cottage.

2nd: If you like a healthy breakfast and carry it with you, like brown bread, banana, peanut butter and eat it, then Mr. Dilip will not like it You have to eat luchi curry from him to make him happy.

3rd: You have to finish your dinner by 9 pm. If you think you can take your food to the room and eat it at 11 o'clock, that's also a problem.

4th: You can campfire at night, but you have to finish it by ten o'clock. If it's eleven o'clock, he'll pour water on it.

5th: You can't do a little fun dancing-singing outside the room he will be very dissatisfied with what you have to do in the room to make him happy.

6th: He told me that after eight-thirty in the morning there would be no more hot water for bathing, But he is so strict in his words that if you get up at nine o'clock in the morning you really won't get hot water for bathing.

Last 31st night he did not allow us for  campfire. He seems to be showing us all of fucking excuses where the whole Rishyap is partying on the 31st Night. We tried to persuade him in various ways so that we would not miss the 31st Night. But the stubborn Mr. Dilip stuck to his word. And the middle-men Mr. Anupam matched the same tune with him. In the end we are very sad, thinking that our 31st Night will fall like this! Then we got Mr. Arjun who is the ower Valley of Flowers Homesray The Golden Heartman. He arranged everything for us. Have gave us his own place. He gave us a room for using toilet. Arrenge campfire, delicious food, light and sound and everything. He make our night and make us happy.

Once again I want to say Rishyap is a very good place. The climate and weather here are beautiful. Even the behaviour of local people here is very good. But when you choose a property, think a little so that your moment is not spoiled in this way.

We recently visited Lovely Homestay Rishop and were extremely happy with the whole experience. First of all the place rishop is beautiful and the homestay is having one of the best views of the mountains and very clean rooms and bathrooms surrounded by a beautiful and well maintained garden. The food was organic and very appetizing and hospitality by the owner and his family was beyond all expectations. They took special care of us and accommodated all our needs. Mr. Dilip introduced us to certain special ingredients and dishes and told us about the history of the place and was very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this homestay for anyone looking for a peaceful and great experience in terms of stay at rishop.

I went in this hotel with my family & friends on 30th & 31st dec 2020. But the behaviour of owner & staff was very very bad. They can not allow to celebrate the 31st night. Also there are many things happend with us like hot water for bathing, dinner timing etc.

Room is good.food is simple but great.when you will reached there and understand that how difficult to manage everything which are we consume in our regular life, then only you realize that tha food is really wow.and the last but not the least is good conduct of all staff made a good ambiance of that homestey

This was a very nice stay, peaceful.

Nice well maintained place, although it's little far away from the Rishop main point (Sonar Bangla) but it has a nice scenic beauty. Rooms are well maintained, food quality is also up to the mark.

Highly recommended for cordial staff, clean and well-maintained rooms, great property with view and extraordinary service.

It is what its name represents, situated at 8600ft, It gives an wonderful view of Kanchan junga & is a nice place to stay with clouds floating all around. Food is really good & the staff is cordial. Here we find the beautiful technique of preservation of rain water coming from the roof.

Spent few days, during last December in 2018. Just memorable memories to stay there. The scenic beauty of open nature visible from the room is just awesome. Good environment with a friendly behaviour of the staffs. One more thing, bird lovers will surely enjoy this location very much for the avability of different kinds of Birds. Luking to spend some more time there.:) :)

Awesome place to stay. Food and services are very good. The owner of the Home stay is a friendly person. One of our friend was pure vegetarian, they made separate food for her. The view from the rooms are nice. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathrooms are well maintained. If you want to book the place don't hesitate, just go for it. And if you told them they will arrange bonfire and roasted chicken for you.

Well, according to Dilip Rai of Lovely homestay, Lovely Resort has become Lovely homestay, where we spent a night in Nov 2018. Choosing the right place to stay at Rishyap could be tricky, but once you leave Sonar Tari and move towards Lovely homestay, the view gets partially blocked, and this should be kept in mind. The day we were in Rishyap, the mountains had unfolded in a clear morning sky and there were good views, but for the best views you have to climb up ti Tiffin Dara. The homestay is average with overpriced food and comfortable budget lodging. Dilip Rai is very hospitable and provides hot water anytime with a smiling face. That was the best part. The ambience was nice in the complete silence. For cars there is a syndicate and you have to call and fix the cars yourself, Dilip won't do the talking. So start working things out early because there are limited cars in Rishyap and limited network (Vodafone works).
