It is a perfect place to stay if you are visiting Kolkata. It's location is very convenient, the famous New Market is just round the corner so is the Indian museum. Walking distance from the party Street called Park Street in Kolkata. Rooms are spacious and are fairly priced.
We love the Lytton. Have stayed many times and are treated with great hospitality. The owner, Govind, is very friendly and the most hospitable of all. I highly recommend you make the Lytton Hotel your home while staying in Kolkata. Great place in a great city.
This hotel is very old and outdated room facility. The environment made me to think that I m living in 90s, the price and room doesn’t match, I get better hotel than this for much lesser price. The staff is very professional and well trained. I would be more happy if they would have behaved politely to the visitors too.
The entire building is very classy and decent place. This hotel will be definitely one of the top hotels in Kolkata if they upgrade or they need to bring their price down.
*Entire room is dirty and not fit for stay *cots, chairs, switches and all other stuffs are old. They really need to replaced *poor toilet essentials provided *car parking facility is good *bulbs and lights need to be changed *Many rooms still have windows Air condition *Room ventilations are not good. I got suffocated last time. *They have a complementary breakfast buffet. *The taste of the food is not up to the mark
Location is excellent for shoppers. Has old Kolkata charm. Mattress & pillows can be more comfortable. Toiletries are basic. Needs improvement. Food is decent & service average
I've been to Lytton for one place in particular - the Sunset Restobar. Entering into the place transports you to a nightclub in the UK. I usually get the Bira or Simba beers these days, but they make a great Whiskey Toddy, if you're feeling unwell but still want to drink!
Mr abhijitand Mr ashoke hello. I hope doing well there. Was trying to connect to you for so long but no one was there to pick up my phone and after 10 minutes when I was connected to you some one pick up my phone and no welcome tone no greets over the phone and it was seems like he was very busy with his personal work and he was hang up my phone. I again dialed Hotels no and ask to transfer to reservation department.berry strange it was to heared that Mr abhijit is a FOM and when I described all to reservation executive Mr. Asshole was told me those all happen just casually and these are so common to there hotel.and he also told me if I'm not comfortable don't book room. Like they are not even felt any sorry for this. I hope like if management like this services like this over the phone how will be the services after check in! !
Well, will escalate this review to all the corner of OTA's untill unless I'm not getting any proper feedback or apology from your end.
I've never experience such a pathetic lethargic customer service ever, NO not even from a NO STAR lodges. The person who picks the phone by name LATHA, not sure if she owns the property knows nothing about customer service. This review and rating is only for the response I received from her when I had called to enquire about the banquet hall/rooms at this hotel.
It is generally ok. But, if you want warm water, have to spend lot of time, waste water as the system throws warm water after wasting 7-10 buckets of cold water.
It was reasonably good hotel. Slightly expensive considering room, amenties n breakfast. The rooms at the backside should not be preferred. Breakfast was not up to the expectations. Overall good and considering locational advantage.
My initial impression when I walked in was really positive, but once I was about to go to bed and noticed that the sheets had a lot of hairs on them, particularly around the pillows, my impression quickly changed. Although they did send someone to change the sheets, it took more than a half hour away from my sleep time and made me feel uncomfortable. When I spoke to the manager the next morning, he was very apologetic, but "I'm sorry" really doesn't make up for something unacceptable like that.
Awesome hotel in this city go there once. Price is a little high but as compare to services and facilities price is resonables. Good staff and good table or room delivery. Parking facilities is also good. I stay there many times. Very honest persons and nice place. Because I forget my cell phone there once I check it in my poket after leave my hotel and room after 2 hours. Then I call to hotel manager and tell them all story. They ask me only my room no and left time. I will tell ten aprox cause I don't remember exect time. After 30 minute they call my given number and tell me about my call phone that they found it in my room and I can take it any time. I go there next day and collect my cell phone. So I recomanded them give a 5*review them.
This is a 3 STAR hotel, good for tourists and arranging personal functions located in the heart of Kolkata Shopping hub Chowrangee Road. The reception staff are very friendly and courteous.
If you are shopoholic, you will end up buying so many things. Thanks to very vibrant market nearby. You can find large variety of bags, trolleys and clothes nearby. You will be spoilt with choices.
The hotel also has a very vibrant restraunt and bar.
But, at same time - if you are here for business then you are you going to waste a lot of time in traffic. The location is very crowded and congested.
I had got a room in Heritage Wing, which is attractive. The room will make you travel time to British era where mosaic floor in bathroom used to be luxury.
Business travellers look for utmost comfortable bed after having a long day. The room stinks may be due to damp walls and poor ventilation and lack of sun light.
Maybe the beds and cushions need to get sun bath to get rid of foul smell.
Old construction may be one of the limitation why this hotel still has window and Split A/C instead of commercial HVAC system.
They dont have enough dodge in restraunt. Business people, carry your one breakfast
Very good hotel. Nice decoration Best hospitality Scenery and environment was really good Breakfast not so good. I will give 05/10. But totally this is really nice hotel.
3-star hotel. Service is good Room service is good. However, the hotel elevator is not good. Old and narrow. Disco with it. There dances and drinkers stayed there for mid nights. The bathroom of the room is good. Although the room of Twin Bed is large, the size of the bed is very small. Without it all is good.
It's not a hotel but a lodge situated in central part of city. Possibly shopkeeper and traders on a short visit stay here. Rooms are old but ok but not worth the price. In monsoons or rains to reach their restaurant you will need umbrella as it's in a different wing. Restaurant food is ok but service pathetic. They just refuse everything. The only good thing was checkout where a lady who has been working with them for past 20 years was proficient. Only worth it if priced around 2500. Window air conditioners add to the old word charm. But it's location is allowing it to survive.
I was here to review for official conference however the place seemed to be unfit for such events. However their Bar cum disco was small but really cool. My two stars are for that only.
Old type of hotel with register maintained.in today age of computers.way to go for this one.my would be first and last stay.not njoyed the stay.first room was not having ac working.also the food was very much average.not at all a recommended breakfast.very non cooperative staff compared to any part of the country.avoid it.
The hotel is 53 years old which makes it historical! Location of the hotel is very good and very near to Kolkata Shopping Hub New Market. Food is also good. But lacks professionalism in Breakfast management. Found unavailability of breakfast items almost every day. Stuff behavior is average. Old guys used to demand tips though not directly.
Had been an wonderful experience in Kolkata while staying here. Commodities are awesome but a bit costly. Need to improve on the restaurant services esp.with the foods. Bit confusing to see the online portals for booking hotels saying some rooms available but physically they were not.
