We never eat at roadside joints such as these but we went any way since a blog mentioned that this was a time-honored establishment. It didn't disappoint! Freshly made hot food that was sold at very reasonable prices made for a great breakfast.
Tasty snacking and breakfast options. Food was very tasty. We got the seat to sit and have our breakfast. We were also lucky to get the parking as well. Must try in life. Their poor Sabri and Jalebi is must have one. And the best part is that it is very economical.
Would often visit your counter but was shocked at the level of hygiene. As i was having tea and planning to have some kachori, your cook placed the potatoes on the oven to be cooked. And i was shocked to see cockroaches coming out of the container. And you covered the lid
Excellent food, still the best place to have bong breakfast with kochuri, singara, jilipi, gulab Jamun, Nimki. This place is awesome. Roadside though but food is yum
Kochuri and Jelabi: It was good. If you happen to be in Kalighat at the morning then this is worth trying breakfast: Kochuri and Jelabi. However, a block ahead I found Maharaj has better quality Kochuri and Jelabi than Maharani. The price of the both outlets are the same. My suggestion would be Maharaj or, if you are first-timer then try both, a little here and a little there.
Located near Deshapriya Park.towards Lake. Opposite of a petrol pump Maharani Tea & Tiffin Snacks such as samosa, kochouri, jalebi, gulab jamun, laddu, tea, kesar tea are available here ready. One may have a bite and sip there for a pleasute.
The kochuri was delicious and the chili chutney is a must. We ate 6 kochuri, tea, a thumbsup, packed 6 dhokla and the total cost was 165 rs. Also, we went pretty late around 12pm yet they ensured we got fresh and newly made kochuris.
Offers breakfast/snax and it's a very old & popular joint. Kachoris are the most popular along with samosa, jalebis, malpoa and gulabjamuns. Tea time snax are pocket friendly and the most important thing is everything served hot and is freshly prepared. No as such seating arrangements are there.
It's a nice place to have Kachori, Samosa etc. With a rate of ₹10 / Pc. I tried Samosa and Gulab Jamun and after having it I can say it was worth. The taste of Samosa was so nice. And Gulab Jamun was so soft.
Just to be clear. Its not maharaja. Its Maharani. Maharaja is a different place. Great place for breakfast! The tea tastes great! I just loved it! The kachori with that potato curry and that green chilli pickle put on side soothes the taste buds and give a great kick to your morning routine. The jalebi also tasted amazing. A must try place.
Food is of decent quality with decent hygiene. Earlier they used to service food using swiggy or Zomato nowadays they stop it. This is a place where I am going in from my childhood days. The taste nearly remained the same. I cannot say anything more than it's a nice place to have breakfast if you are returning from your morning walk from the lake.
Have breakfast from here. Their kachori samosa and jalebi are mouthwatering. Green chillies they give with sabji is just add extra spice to the dish. As per taste price is ok. Taste 100 on 100.
It was quite early in the morning I was returning from work and no other places were open. This was the only place started serving this early. I was quite impressed. I ordered one kachori sabji and took some jalebi for home. I enjoyed my breakfast.
Nice road side kiosk known for its Kachori and shabji fresh from the oven. Also sell jalebi, malpua, tea etc. People flock around to gorge on the delicacies particularly in the morning after their walk.
Its only the hype.food quality (hing kachori with alu sabji and green mirchi achar) is average but they serving it hot and fresh. Requesting all of you to take the kachori and sabji in two separated plates
Now a days they are using nice oil, specially samosha's recipe is nice. One suggestions to the owner, it's completely my point of view that staffs should wear good cloths. Now a days outlook matters
Fresh street food and chai doesnt get any better than this. Malpuas, kachoris and puris along with matka (earthen vessel) chai is good here. Actually you cant go wrong with anything here. Try the special chai which is a whooping Rs. 20:)
Wish they pay a bit more attention to the hygiene and upkeep of their surroundings.
It's a roadside food stall but that doesn't keep people from flocking to it.from rickshaw pullers to owners of BMWs.the kachoris with the aalu sabji and the green chilly aachaar are a must have for every Calcuttan.it comes v v v cheap and you can throw in a couple of hot jalebis and finish off with a cup of special elaichi tea.a feast.all within RS 50/ or so.served in eco friendly clay cups and plates made of saal leaves.the only problem I faced were beggars loitering about pestering you just as you are into the food.and yes, have the food piping hot.it doesn't taste good when cold or re-heated
Traditional Bengali kachuri, samosha, jilebi are few other types of sweets are available. All are very fresh, prepared there and served hot. And taste? Don't ask, it is dazzling, smoking hot and mouth watering. And on top of every thing, their's signature tea " Maharani Special" which is basically masala tea which went into "hall of fame" of Kolkata. One must visit at least once. I swear they won't be disappointed.
Maharani Tea & Tiffin has always been my favourite since my childhood. It has not only gained reputation over years but also has retained its old customers as well bringing in new ones with its tongue tentalising taste of kachori, gelabi, samosa & elaichi tea. The place itself doesn't require any recommendations.yet I would always do so for the quality of food they deliver.
Located near Deshapriya park crossing. Finger licking & pocket friendly food items are here to treat yourself. We had Singara, Hing Kachori, Jalebi. Singara was so delicious. Mouth-watering Kachori and its curry was so tasty. Crispy Jalebi was ultimate at the end. It's truly a hidden gem of Kolkata.
