Tried the buffet of Mainland China. Has 20+ items. This place serves one of the best indo-chinese food in kolkata. The buffet is quite good but not excellent. Some dishes could be better with thinner batter coatings. Dessert and starter sections are very good but main course has room for improvement especially considering the price of the buffet. Buffet is priced at ₹1045/- + tax. Would like to see some variety in main course dishes.

Experience with buffet dinner: Recently food taste degraded badly.
Considering the food taste, I felt the buffet menu was very overpriced.
The starter soup was pathetic.

The issue with buffet was that though there were lot items, most were made in similar type of red sauce prepation. Desert stock was much less than other buffet restaurants.
They literally wrote gems, chocolate nuts as dessert items.

It was 1245 +tax. Also they charge 145 for a water bottle which was not quite good.

Extremely Bad food. I ordered Veg spring roll they served chicken spring roll.

Oil they use is Extremely bad.
Horrible food they serve.

This was the last time I went to Mainland China.

Visited today for the buffet lunch. The food was good and there were variety of items available. I loved the chicken sui mei and the lamb ball preparation. The fish in Taipei style was also good. There were 4 types of ice cream, the tuti fruti and the chocolate flavoured ones were great. Darshan, brownies were also great.

Food is good however very limited items for buffet. Also the lighting should be a bit brighter, it's too low and depressing, music is also irritating

It was the first time for me in Mainland China and i loved it. The service was incredibly good and every food was worth mouthwatering. We ordered a non veg buffet thing. It was amazing that how calm and peaceful the place was!

Mainlandchina food is not a factor we can taste our tounge at any Indian or any Chinese food. MAINLANDCHINA IN SOUTH CITY MALL staff behavior is just like a garbage there way of tone to a customer is just unbelievable. As per government rule we just called them at dot 7pm for my two childrens and us for 4persons. A man I don't know his name but I am giving description with one sentence that the man with no hair on his head who was standing in front desk today at 8th August 2021 he behaved just like a rude n rude n rude person. If this happen day by day to others then it is really shameful. Change a staff like him immediately otherwise I as a customer will file case against you.

Had buffet lunch. Open till 5pm. Then 6pm to 7pm. Lunch buffet started with soup, starters (fish, chicken and veg). Main course had noodles, fried rice and dishes of chicken, fish, lamb. Dessert was good. May need to wait to get a seat. 20-50 mins depending on crowd. Buffet is in weekends only.

Good restaurant for Chinese food lovers in this part of city. Options for vegetarians are not much though staff is willing to serve it on demand. Good variety and consistent quality, good spread, peaceful place to go with family.

Inside south city mall specious. Buffet @899 Chinese speciality restaurant. All safety protocol followed by them. Staff are courteous. Fine dining.

Good food but fried rice was too light, it was like plain rice. Ambience also needs improvement as being a restaurant in such a nice place.

Not my first time here and would definitely won't be my last time here. Really loved the soothing ambience coupled with excellent service and delicious chinese cuisine.

Just one point to be mentioned. If you happen to be a vegetarian, then you would discover that the veg buffet spread lacks variation and is definitely not worth the price you pay (Around 1100 for both veg and non veg for a weekend lunch buffet. A bit costly right? I know: ().

If you happen to dislike a veg item, you can always inform the manager or waitors and they can deliver something from the menu based on your choice, fresh from the kitchen.

P. S - Loved the pan fried chilli fish, Drums of heaven and the brownie coupled with hot chocolate sauce:)

Umm. The South city one is pretty dingy and smelly. I alerted them of a weird smell as I was walking in. The food is basic. I mean one soup is called eight treasures. Some fancy name for a regular mixed veges and meat soup that you usually find in any chinese place. The crispy squid was soo completely fried that you couldnt tell the taste of the squid. Are big restaurants losing the taste competition to small chinese restaurants? I think so. Find out for yourself. And if youre hungry, you wont mind the noodles.

Just liked there food from Starters to Dessert. Great Buffet Menu for Vegetarian and Non vegetarian. Quality of food is awesome. Ambience is nice and music is very soothing. You can actually feel that you're in a hilly place.they have huge variety of non veg and veg food.they have Jain option also. We enjoyed our food very much.
The behaviour of there staffs are good. You can receive Your Birthday wishes, Anniversary wishes in WhatsApp from them.

On festive days its so much crowded that I felt they are not able to cater properly and it took prolonged period to refill our demands than usual time. So, thats the disadvantage, otherwise qualitywise and quantitywise its good. We have tried buffet over here. So, we were full upto neck.

Great foods. Buffet lunch still one of the best. Visited this place after a gap of almost 4 yrs. They maintained the same great quality. But it is same old menu in buffet.

Well although the establishment claims to be all mighty and delicious in taste but in reality it is as average it can get. In truth I was expecting way better food for the price I was paying.

From starters to deserts all are finger licking good. Good ambiance great taste of food. The ultimate destination for Chinese cuisine in Kolkata. You can chose a-la-cart or buffet as per your choice.

It's a nice place if you want a fine dining experience of authentic Chinese food. Its a bit costly place to dine in. This resturant provide authentic Chinese Buffet in Kolkata. Their buffet will cost you around 100 bucks per person. I would highly suggest to to try out thei starter items before going for main course because in my opinion I thing their starter items are much tasty and have a some variation than their main course. There are some cons indeed that's why I rated them 4 stars instead of going for 5 stars. They are their slow serving service and the second thing is thir drums of heaven is not really up to the mark. Otherwise it's a good place to taste some finest Chinese Cuisines it that price point.

It is a luxury restaurant so the prices are a bit exorbitant however if you can look past that the food is second to none when it comes to chinese.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in town. Big buffet spread. You can also order from their delicious a-la-carte menus. They also serve liquor. Excellent test, quantity & quality. Cordial staffs and great ambiance.

Few days ago, I visited this outlet of Mainland china with my friends to taste their authentic new chinese dishes. It is located at the 3rd floor of South City mall, so visitors dont need to spend much time locating it. I loved the ambience very much. The soft background music and proper lighting add to the perfect ambience. If that wasnt enough, sweet aroma of chinese delicacies is sure to take you to heaven. We tried their some new dishes- Philadelphia cheese dumplings, matchsticks potato with truffle oil, Malasian curried prawns, Pan fried barbequed fish, Sichuan pepper chicken with cashew nuts, Lung fung soup with egg white, Stir fried haricot beans with dry red chillies and sesame, prawns in xo sauce, Sichuan steamed bhetki with fresh coriander, double spicy chengdu chicken, celery and chinese cabbage fried rice with chicken, Singapore style noodles with Beansprouts and chocolate dome. I dont know which one is best, every items were so delicious. Best of the best item was Philadelphia cheese dumplings.

Best place for Chinese. Quality and quantity of food is enough. They even suggest delicious dish and you have no regret over this. Price is fair. Awesome dishes by prawn & chicken. If you want to taste the real Chinese food, guys this is the final destination.

One of the best places to try chinese food in india. The ambience and hospitality are top notch. Eating here since i was a kid.

F&B - superb but like most restaurants they too add the service charges to your bill without asking. Corporate discounts, it seems don't work the same way across their chain
