Massara Beach Resort

Pros: Location, Service (friendly staff) & Evening snacks (Pakoras), Masala Tea and the raised area where you can sit and enjoy the Bay of Bengal, especially if you have elderly members travelling with you. Sipping a cup of tea and coffee, reading a book and gazing the vast Bay is the best Massara offers.
Cons: Approach road is not good, rooms need a thorough cleaning and painting, TV mounting cables is dangling they should be managed, overall rooms need attention.
Food (main meals) is moderate and price is on the higher side, I would suggest to buy food from outside and carry it to hotel.

Let's begin with a joke. Google shows that it's a 3 star hotel.come on.all of you laugh for this first.

Second, I am just back from another trip to Mandarmoni but this time I stayed at a different Aqua Blue Resort after the worst experience at Massara in my previous visit. Even after a year, my stay at Massara is still a nightmare to me.

Right from the Approach road till the horrible rooms (loaded with my granny generation Telivision boxes and 3rd hand purchase mattresses that always stink) this so-called resort is a classic example of a lodge.

Even after many negative comments on Google, the management is absolutely unapologetic. I should appreciate the management for shamelessly looting the customers with High prices.

My stay here was very nice.the staffs were nice and food was delicious.but due to full accommodation there was a delay in delivering the food

The hotel ' MASSARA BEACH RESORT' is really pathetic place to stay. The rooms are not good, it is quite costly rather than the charges, the rooms were dirty, the televission is not working, the AC is not working, the gyser works very slowly, the lights are not sufficient. Beside rooms, the staff quality is very poor, the food is too expensive. For a chicken pakora plate, it costs INR 330 + tax, for one piece fish curry, it is INR 250.

The service is very poor, the cleaniless in the hotel premises is questionable, more importantly the staff quality is very very bad, the attitude of the staffs specially all the managers are really pathetic.

I will not go any time in this hotel in my life, and I won't recommend anybody to go there. The enjoyment of being visitor will be vanished.

The overall property is average. Cottage room was broken and dirty. Bed and mattress are the worst one. Foods are super expensive. Service is really very bad. I'll recommend not to book any room in this resort. Moreover, the location is very far from any market. The lane connecting the resort and main road is very narrow and broken. There is no boundary or main gate to enter the resort. Outside people tend to enter and intervent. Complimentary breakfast was very ordinary.

Unfortunately there is no negetive rating. Otherwise I would choose that. Highly expensive food. Alubhaja 90 rupees, one omlete 110 rupees. 1 slice of fish 250 rupees.

Worst culture, scared to order something. Felt discomfort during the period. Don't come to this hotel. Never.

Most worst resort.actually this is not a resort. Bad manners of all stuff and manger. Dirty bathroom. Do not choose for it.

It's time to review this beach resort.

Location: Its location was the main attraction for me. If you love solitude, then this place is apt for you. It is the only resort that has no companion resort. It is a lone ranger. It has many cottages as rooms. Rooms are clean and tidy. It doesn't have swimming pool. Kindly refer to the photos.

Service: The service is also good. They are very friendly and prompt.

Food: The quality of food is so-so. You can manage. They make really good DAAL.

P. S: There are many resorts in this price range. As far as the location is concerned, it is a one-of-a-kind.

Hotel is just normal, nothing special.
But the best part is it's situated just 50 m from sea beach ️. So you can enjoy sea sight from morning to late night, even you can sit and talk whole night as there is an arrangement for sitting near sea beach.
This beach ️ is most of the time very less crowded so you can enjoy, take bath, play with water easily.

Horrible experience with the staff. Management is least bothered about getting into the details even after complaining about their staff. Will never ever visit this property even if it is offered for free.

Nice experience, a neat n clean hotel with good location. Excellent food preparation we enjoyed very much.well behaved staff spacially I want to Thanks to Mr. Tapas, nice person, he is here to assist you as he can. I giving one star less because of one thing I really didn't expect a incident which is security person here to ask money while you check out even he demands more money from guest. Management should take care about that otherwise we very much satisfied with hospitality. Again I thank to Tapas and all staff here.

Though the management is nice, the service/attitude of their staff is worst. Their Manager's attitude is at a different level. The staff is just good enough to spoil the business.

Location is superb. Sea facing rooms are amazing. Yes they had their challenges due to frequent cyclone, but I enjoyed the beach. Staff are good. Food is average.

Although previous year they had a unfortunate calamity destroy their property.but all the staff members give 100% effort to make your stay welcoming and happy.
Great views from hotel but need to upgrade the entrance road. All the best for your stay.

Only postive thing is Natural Ambience - The place is really nice and serene. It's beach front facing view. You can stay nearby and visit the beach here.
Staff hospitality/behaviour - The staffs do not know how to talk to guests. They scream within the team too much for everything, we booked online and room was surprisingly very bad as compartively seen in picture.
Cost vs Resort amenities - There is no feel like resort it's just normal, dirty room.fan was not working, bedsheets were dirty and worst was washroom was unclean & unhygienic there was water leakage also.
They do not provide room service to clean the room, no clean mats. There is no good path to the resort primarily it is a mud road with lots of pot holes, you can't even walk and move out at night. It's really risky.

Not value for money. Bad service Bad experience with staff.they don't have a proper enternce, the resort is very inside & far from Main road and the road is not good, parking area is not appropriate. The lunch served was cold.

The rooms have degraded over time and are now time to abandon them. The service is also poor. There seems to be a racket going on. They assure you that the approach road is perfect and let your car get stuck. And then demand money to recover your car. Posting photos of the approach road.

Entrance is pathetic if you love your car then you stay away along with bonus we got a tree uprooted and blocked the entrance at the thime of check-in we waited for 45 minutes.
Foods are ok little over priced than quality. And don't take tea or coffee you will regret

It was an amazing experience. Especially the view from the resort is totally worth it. If you want some peace, visit the Massara Beach Resort.

Extremely disappointed! The service is terrible, almost non-existent. My whole time at the hotel was spent trying to get some basic service like running water (yes water ran out in the middle of a bath), hot water - I had to shout of the balcony to at least 3 different members of the staff (of course they dont have a phone/intercom in the room). One of the members of the staff have me a mobile number to call for service. However 8 times out of 10, no one picked up the phone. Zero service was provided - terribly unprofessional staff. I'm never going back there again!

One of the few remaining resorts that can be accessed only from the beach, Massara is like most of the other resorts in Mandarmani in the sense that it is basic but functional. Maintenance could be better, but still it's not much worse than most of the other hotels around. There is a large covered elevated deck area which while being a great place to sit does block the sea breeze for the rooms. Food is passable - some items were great while others were not (the prawn for example, wasn't fresh, however the chicken pakoras, alu posto, chilli chicken were delicious). However, service is friendly and prompt and absolutely no complaints there. The only reason I haven't given a higher rating is because I felt that at about Rs. 3200 per night excluding food (but including a basic breakfast), it isn't really value for money for what it offers. However, it may be that they have differential rates for extended weekends and we just happened to bear the brunt of that. Even then, the quality of rooms and facilities does not justify the rate.

There is no positive point to note about this resort, firstly entry road is very narrow and pathetic. Secondly, rooms are without maintenance and bathrooms are horrible. Dirty, no proper door lock, fittings are about to be broken. No view from the room front unless you are at front place which is concrete construction and spoils the sea front ambience of the resort. Lastly pathetic services and food. Behaviour of the boys are very rude. Complementary breakfast os Luchi dal and bolied egg. Food rates are higher than anything. Not recommending at all

I liked this resort as it is just by the bay. Could hear the tides falling n rising at night in the room, felt soothing to my ears. Food quality was good. Complementary breakfast was fresh n served hot. Fish dishes were fresh too. Tarrif charged were too high. Rooms were clean but bathrooms need to be maintained.

Sanitization is terrible. Staff is carefree and highly inefficient and unorganised. Only a few rooms which are sea facing. Rest aren't. So don't fall for that Ponzi scheme. Food is decent but not many options. Pool isn't functional.

Very close to the beach. Arrangements for bon fire is a plus. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

Just ok. It is better not to come here with high expectations. Food quality is not up to the mark as per the price.

Deplorable conditions considering the huge room charges they had (almost 3000 per night). We had no room service phones/ switches. The geyser was not on. And from the balcony we could see only a slice of the beach. In short, we had quite a bad experience.

Location is good. One have to pass through the beach. Management is poor. Food quality, especially for Chinese food is very bad. However, environment is very peaceful. Garden is full of flowers and different plants. Cost is economically good.

Nice place to spend holidays.good food, is right in front of beach. You can see tide rising and falling. In other hand I don't really like bathroom condition. ʕっ•ᴥ•ʔっ

The rooms were spacious. The staff extremely courteous specially Tapas Barui who is always there to assist and make every guests stay comfortable with a smile.

The environment is very nice and the rooms are also very good. The foods are fresh and tasty. Behaviour of the staffs are also very good.

Location in awesome and is right on the beach. But there is no proper approach road, you have to drive through the beach to reach the hotel. For this autos tend to drop around 300 m from the hotel entrance. Rooms are good and spacious but not close to 3 star as they claim.

Massara Beach Resort is truly on the sea beach. The sea wave dash on its wall twice a day. At that time no one can enter or depart from the Resort, because its only entrance is on the sea side. The beach is hard and motorable sometimes the visiters have to drive through sea water. The mater is somehow enjoyable. The resort authority is thinking of arranging a land side entrance.
The place is desolate, far from the din and bustle if the busy town. The Resort is well decorated in and around. There are some twin cottage side to side. Food supplied is delicious. Its sea-front common place is very attractive. It is just like a deck of a ship. One can enjoy the endless sea and sky is from this place. Sea-waves dash the wall at bottom sometimes in day and night time. There are group siting arrangment. Resort authority sarve breakfast and evening tea to the boarders if they so desire. The night view from this place also enjoyable, both at moonlit night or dark night. In the dark night fishermen's light like several dots in sea can be seen which is thrilling.
We went there during winter so we had a chance to have fresh "khejur Ross" while morning walk at the village.
The only drawback the visitors can face sometimes that since it is situated in a remote village, the approach roads are rather narrow which cause problem during crossing as because car is the only means to reach there. Except this the place is overall enjoyable.

Worst hotel in my 30 years of life. Rooms are not livable. We had run for our life. We were a group of 10, lunch was for more than 2500 and they charged for rs 5 for lemon. We paid for lemon.

Very much disappointed with their service.staffs behavior are very harsh.
No regular Drinking water available in hotel. They are providing only packaged drinking water that is alos in only 1 LT pack and taking 150% Higher price than MRP

Good food, room service is a bit messy, driver a accomodation is pathetic. Location is great, can cover Shankarpur and Tajpur same day.

Its poor due to below reasons.

1. There was no road navigation signage in the way to reach location.
2. The room linen is unclean. Had to argue a lot tonmake it changed.
3. Facilities were not there as mentioned. TV was not given.
4. Manager was lazy and not working on anything.
5. Washroom had no toiletries.
6. Location not maintained.
7. Driver place was highly unhygienic.
I was to stay two days but left in 1 day. High charge of 3.5k but not worth.
Not the beach is nice at night and morning and secluded so people gets fooled. But resort is maintained at all.

The main problem is lack of maintenance and general cleanliness. Location is very good. Staff are nice. But again cleanliness and maintain is below par. Mandarmani itself is overrated.

Very Bad service specially after lockdown. They have increased their charges, No complementary water or tea given which they used to give. Neither the breakfast is free. Moreover they charge very much even for breakfast. The water costs Rs 32 which can be bought by nearby dhaba in Rs 15. Booking this hotel is a waste pf money and resource.

You should not go here it is a trash can place if you want to be biting by bugs then you can come here the restraunt is full of bugs falling on your head

Well I stayed at Massara after one of my relatives suggested me. First of all it is way to inside from the main road or main beach of Mandarmani and secondly the entrance of the hotel is still not well defined. When there is water in the beach you can't park your card in the hotel since the car entrance in through the beach. The alternative way is also very unhygienic and through some unused territory. Thirdly, lack of maintenance. Now a days everything they says they give excuse of Ampan. Which is not negotiable. We suffered for water crisis too even there were no aquaguard also. The cost they take, in that expense they should provide many other aminities. The only positive thing is their staff, moderate scenic beauty nice and quantitative food. They have rush of tourists but management is very poor.

Wish I could give negative points here to express my fellings. The worsted resort I have visited in my life ever. Don't know from where should I start. The room, room service, staff's, food quality, quantity, price, location everything is massively bad or you can say worst. More over do not expect customer service.
If you are planning to visit Mandarmani then my suggestion would be not to stay in MASSARA RESORT.

Worst hotel i have ever visited with Poor rooms, Poor services, worst quality of food with no parking space.

Bad service (didn't even served drinking water at night in the rooms after repetitive reminders), rude behaviour of the staffs, food quality is very bad with too much price (almost 2 times of the other resorts there), bathrooms are not clean, didn't able to sleep at night due to mosquitoes' bite.

Very bad experience.third class room service, water leaking from ac, bad staff member behavior. Bad quality of food. Not recommended to go there.

Location wise place is in the interior. Cemented road from main road only 1 car can come or go. You have to cross 100 meters to enter the hotel if its not high tide.

Hotel is good in appearance. Rooms are average but, more towards the dirty side. The best part in the hotel is a pavement where you can sit and enjoy your drinks.

Staff is average. They just follow their procedures. Don't expect customer service.

Ample parking is available in a grassy area carry a torch.

Food is not very good. Price will seem to be low. But, quantity is very less too. Veg items are better.

Since, other hotels are far beach is empty.

Suggestions: bring snacks from outside its cheap. Only for cold beverages take from hotel.

Room service is too bad. Entry and exit to the hotel depends on high tide low tide. Yiu can come out only if it is a low tide

Pathetic Service. Dirty hotel rooms. Ride behaviour of staff. Food quality is also not at all good. Most importantly remote place. Have to drive/walk on beach to reach hotel for 100 metres. Not at all accessible during high tides.

Stayed there on an quick scheduled tour at the cost of 10000 for 2 days. The claimed to give us their premium rooms. Yes it has a partial see view but it bed, one bed side table, one center table and what's not type TV table is completely unusable. Bed mattress is over used even commode comes out from it wall hanging position and became unusable on 2nd day. Charging at the rate of 3 star hotel and offering facility of a clumsy lodge is not done at all.

The real charming experience is their oppen sea side settings space. The quality time we spent there is beyond monetary valuation. If you are spending your hard earn money for a comfortable vacation you will be disappointed.

Location is very good and staffs are good and food quality is also good. Management needs to improve in all other areas. They do not have any concept of room service or housekeeping. Rooms and toilet should be clean. During tide time its impossible to enter or leaving the resort. A gate on the other side can easily solve this but they dont bother. If one goes with small car must be very cautious while entering or leaving, bumper guard or chasis can be heavily damaged. Other good thing is they allow pets with you.

We stayed at the Resort for two Nights ie. From 5/08/20019 To 7/08/20019 along with our Tow Pets and Enjoyed a lot, we have no complaints against anything, we just Enjoyed the place.

Location is very beautiful and serene but the way to the hotel is through the beach and it might cause some problem for the visitors during the high tide. Maintaince of the hotel is not at all good. Water lodged washroom, rusted taps, cable connection not working. Food is quite good and hygienic. Service is so so. They have a permanent shade facing the sea which can be very useful during the rainy and winter season. Overall the experience was Good.

First thing of concern is the entrance into this resort. The entrance is through Beach.and it's difficult for big vehicles. 2ndly the staffs are very unprofessional and not at all helpful. But the position of the resort is good with a lonely beach adjacent. Facilities are average. Its not a good decision to book the resort as primitive thought.

Just beside the Beach. View is very good Rooms are not at all clean. Bathroom are very smelly. Food quality is not good as per price. The entrance is very risky if you will go by car. Staff member are good.

I wish we can give negative points here. Extremely pathetic service. We booked deluxe rooms which are actually not even standard rooms. Rooms and washrooms are extremely dirty. Stains are there all over the walls. Bed sheets are dirty with stains on them, when we asked for replacement they provided a bed sheets with wholes and stains again. AC was not working in rooms, all the furniture are full of dust as if they were never cleaned. They don't provide basic things in washroom. Stuffs are rude. Food is extremely costly, one boiled egg costs 50, one tea cost 20. They charge like a 3 start hotel but the service is just below standard. There is no way to go the hotels once there is high tide, so only time you can come out of the hotel and go somewhere else with your car is 1pm to 5pm. Sometimes cars gets stuck in sand and you have to ask for some help by paying 2,3 k to get that out. Food is just tasteless when we ordered dinner. We had complementary breakfast, food was still better in that time but again they provide eggs by noting down your room number. They hides the eggs and once you ask for them they will note down your room number and give you an egg, as if they are giving you something very precious. It was so embarrassing.

Service is extremely poor, they don't change bed sheet or towels daily, they will replace it only if you ask for it, and that too you have follow up a lot, I asked for a bed sheet, I got it after 36 hours and after asking for many times. In washroom nothing was working properly. Stains were everywhere.

The path you have to follow is so narrow, only one car can go, if another car comes from another direction there is no place to give side. In both side there are mud fields and there are high chance you car can turn over.

This pathetic hotel just destroyed our trip. Please don't go there. Recommend this hotel to someone only when you don't like them and want them to suffer.

Good resort.very good location. But is totally waste of money. There's no food stall nearby. Another problem is not connected with road. Apart from the place, view, ambiance is very nice.

No direct connection to the road from hotel.rooms r nt clean.most of the time things don't work around here.dogs roam freely on campus

It was an extremely poor experience. We didn't even checked in seeing the hotel condition. The entry can't be used if it's high tide. Car parking has to be done in some random road untill the tide goes down. Manager doesn't know how to manage. No guests no management. They took us in from a back entry which lead us through a drain area of dump. I had paid half the charge and didn't even got anything in return. It was better to not check in there ever. Worst expect ever

Amazing place. The view is great and so is the food. The staff too is very cooperative. This one felt like a second home.:) Looking forward to visit sometime soon!

Resort experience is good but not suggest to come here, really there is not proper road to reach in resort, also no any Stall or no any other food support. Totally You depends on Massara Food.
