Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan (formerly known as Milan Mela) is the primary exhibition and convention centre for Kolkata, India. With 31,894 square metres (343,300 sq ft) of exhibition space, it is the largest exhibition centre in Kolkata. The complex is owned and managed by the West Bengal Trade Promotion Organisation (WBTPO), Government of West Bengal.
Recently visited for a meeting. There are halls for conducting official meetings, and also for different types of fair or Mela. It is also called Milan Mela prangan. It is an excellent place for exhibition.
Famous for various "mela" I.e book fair, shilpo mela, trade fair etc now it has become very modern. It has car parking and other facilities like convocation center. All air-conditioned. Modern washroom. There is a food court.
Nice place. Big halls to arrange any kind of fair however till date only TTF is getting organized.good air conditioning system inside the pavilion. Though there is no parking place inside, you have to park on the road, and no food kiosk as well.just opposite to Science City.
This place has transformed from Milan Mela - a humongous empty space that hosted local fairs and exhibitions, to Biswa Bangla Mela Prangon - a grand exhibition-cum-conference venue of international standards. There are halls A and B for exhibitions and a building between them for conferences, media sessions, presentations, etc. All of them have been built with state-of-art infrastructure. Even the space outside is well-furnished but requires better maintenance and management. There are multiple entry gates and several signages for convenience of organisers, visitors and guests.
Situated in a very good location.environment.parking lots. It was Kolkata international book fair ground till 2017 but after that the fair shifted to saltlake central ground, Karunamoyee. May be later it will again shifted here. Rest of the year here some fairs, programs, political meetings organizes. It is near science city. Communication with rest part of kolkata is very well.
Awesome place for hangout with friends and family! Magnificent handcrafted home decorations, are available here with reasonable price, many poor men and women gather here to show their artistic perfections. With invigorating colours, cheers and enthusiasm! A great initiative from wb govt.
All types of exhibitions are held in this ground. Very much commutable area. In front of the ground is the big building of ITC Royal Bengal. Atmosphere Building can also be seen. No problem of transport as Maa flyover runs just side of it. EM Bypass connects to Airport and Garia area also. Currently it's under renovation, hopefully it will open within a year.
It's a huge ground with open as well as enclosed space to organise exhibition. I have been there for interior exhibition organised by ABID. They organise this event every year and it's a great exposure for students from learning context as well as many firms to display their products and make prospective buyers.
You love books, you love milan mela ground. As simple as that. Though there happen to be lots of events organizer than before and lots of garbages after the day.
It is one of my favorite place. Every year Kolkata book fair which is the biggest book fair of Kolkata is held at this place and many cultural events also held at this place.
Enjoyed the Book fair at that place. Nice place. Nice atmosphere specially when smell of fresh, new books and various local foods mixes with sound of folk songs.

It is a huge open space located in J. B. S. Haldane Avenue just opposite Science City where various fairs are held every year It is the place where the famous Kolkata Book Fair was being held but due to reconstruction of this place it has shifted temporarily to Salt Lake Has well connectivity with Park Circus areand Chingrighata area and also to rest of the city by bus services. Also when the Airport New Garia Metro corridor would be complete would enhance the connectivity.
Good ground to hold various fair. Govt arrangements are really nice. Lot of parking space available. Visitors amenities are satisfactory. Many fairs are held there. Huge footfall is regular.
Well the Kolkata International Book fair took place over there last time and it was such a great experience since I am reader and my words would only reach to the ones who love reading. Books of so many kind, so many languages, so many topics, so many ideas, so much love and sharing is there in just one place that it can't be expressed in words. The view over there was like you were in a galaxy of books as you were in the centre and all the books are surrounded lik stars.
