Mitra Cafe never disappoints us. Have visited twice and the delicacy of the food items are just superb.
Suggestion: Try their specialities such as Fish Kabiraji, Golden Prawn Fry, Prawn Cutlet n all.

Mitra Cafe is one of the most popular restaurants among foodie Bengalis. The food is very good and the service is very good. Beautiful surroundings and pleasant weather help to enjoy the enchanting beauty.

U can entry here with a bengali vibes. Service is fast. Any fish items like fish kabiraji, fish fry, fish kaklet and many more r available here. And the test is just awesome. Must try " Macher banagali snacks".

Fish and chicken kabiraji was literally dripping oil. The inner cutlets were very small and the outer egg covering filled most of the volume.

I visited one of the comparatively newer Dum Dum outlet to try food. Now Mitra Cafe is famous for their deep fried non-vegetarian dishes.

So I was accompanied by my Dad, who is a huge fan of such dishes.

I had pretty much expected the same.
The staff is friendly, they look to serve you better.
The service was fast and efficient.
But if you are looking for good vegetarian food, I don't think you will be having much of options here.
If you live Bengali Cuisine, they have really well curated Thali, that they serve for lunch, which is a great option.
After sorting the palates of my Big man, I stuck to my classics! Manchurian and Paneer Butter Masala.
Manchurian looked great, was average.
Paneer Butter Masala looked average, tasted really great.
Overall, my dad adored that Fish Fillet which makes them a must try for Non Vegetarians!

For vegetarians like me, craving for such fried food, Mitra Cafe at Dum Dum has more options than you can ask for.

I tried two of their best selling vegetarian dishes, Paneer Cutlet and Cottage cheese Crocquettes which were some of the best appetizers i have tried ever. Unique and has the street food touch.

I visited Mitra cafe for the first time in this branch. My experience was mixed. Staff was nice & polite, service was great, food was quickly served. Now coming to the negative points I have ordered rajnandi polau test was average not so extraordinary as they described in ads & quantity is very less hardly for one person but they recommending it for two persons. Babumoshai thali was amazing & decoration is awesome. Otherwise overall nice for a family time spend.

I ordered 4 items. The 1st was fish cutlet (that was well)
2nd was fish Ghondhoraj something.that was not up to the mark. They suggested the food "a new" item to try
3rd was polar (taste good but a piece of hair was there. That was not ok for such a restaurant.)
4th was a chicken item (the chicken was not soft and palatable) ultimately I can hardly say everything was below avarage.

I like this restaurant.it's a pocket friendly and good atmosphere restaurant.food taste also good.location wise a very prime location

You can try almost all of the famous dishes of more than 100 years old cafe cum restaurant like Diamond Fish Fry, Fish Kabiraji etc. The main course prices are also pocket friendly. Mutton handi, Paneer Kulcha are just awesome menus they have. It was a great experience for me and my family.

Except mutton.rice/sukto/posto/dal/fish fry taste was excellent, price was okay, staff behavior very good.

No mutton preparation was available. Fish diamond fry was incredible. Though their service is not up to the mark, their behaviour was very polite. Must try for food lovers with a pocket friendly budget.

Good Option to have small snacks! The area is very small. Which is bad!
It doe about have any dedicated Parking space. But very near to dumdum Metro.

This place is famous for the starters, but got disappointed. The main course was not that special especially the quantity served there.

Even though the restaurant was full and we were in a hurry, the restaurant allowed us to have a seat and order our food before we got a table. Compared to other Mitra Cafe franchises, they have more options. I can recommend it.

Highly overrated place for very average quality of food. For me, price of fish fry & diamond fish fry or butter fry are very high as compared to its quality.

Excellent. If u ever go to this place. Please eat crab kosha. They are best.they cooked very well the baby crabs. Also thair food is too taste. U can eat fish kobiraji also there.

Overall good cafe. I ordered Chicken Kabiraji & Egg Chicken Chowmin. I like the chowmin but the Kabiraji has become cold and not crispy.

Diamond Fish Fry and Fish Butter Fry must try because the two are very soft and the fish is very fresh.

Mitra cafe is a special place for all the fast food lovers! And especially if you are visiting mitra cafe Having Kabiraji whether it's mutton, chicken or fish doesn't matter but it's mandatory to try any one of these item!

Had Fish kabiraji and coffee. Kabiraji was good and coffee was from nescafe machine. Nice food not tried all. However it is good to have a Bengali cafe in Dum Dum. Bathroom is not that good. Traditional old small bath room. Overall a nice place to hang with friends. For Rates I uploaded the menu u can check before going. Egg Devil was ordered last it was very good. I asked for tea. They don't serve tea however it was there in menu. And also I wanted try Mutton Afagani that also they said it is not there.

Today again I visited Mitra Cafe, find out that all price are over priced example steam rice bowl is 105, just basic basmati rice. Ordered chicken clear price 125. Soup is pathetic they just put few very few chicken sreaded pieces small one on normal boiling water. This is the worst soup I have ever had in my life on any restaurant.
Don't waste money on any other thing other than snacks on Mitra Cafe

On the main course ordered tandoori roti and chili mushrooms, it was also pathetic. Just wasted lot of money

Situated near dum.dum theism polyclinic. Near dum dum station. I liked their diamond fish fry but didn't liked their chilli chicken because it was full of coating chicken was very less. Soup was average not so much tasty. Quantity of fried rice is medium. Not less or not maximum it's ok.

I had paneer butter masala and nun.just awesome.
Service was good.

Excellent food quality. Diamond fish/mutton/chicken cutlet/kabiraji is the signature dish and must try. Now a days they also served octopus/crab delicacy.

The food and ambiance both are good, but this is no match to their original outlet. If you want to have the real taste of Mitra Cafe's food please do visit the original store.

We ordered the fish fingers and received in a good enough packet in a hot condition. Tastes were awesome, they were tender and soft too. Cost was in a bit higher side.

Mitra Cafe. Good place to hang out with family, friends, loved ones etc. This cafe serves one with tasty and affordable foods. Mitra Cafe is specially known for its fried foods (Tele bhaja) like Kobiraji, Cutlet, Chop, Fish fingers served with rich mustard sauce and desserts like Tutty-Fruity ice-cream.
Other dishes are also good. Though the quantity of 1 plate fried rice seemed to be a little less.
Beverages taste good. I really like them.
There are many outlets.
I went to the Dumdum branch (near Dumdum station) and the stall which is in Diamond Plaza mall.
Also the one in Sovabazar (the oldest one).
Online delivery is available.

Food quality is really good but I think some items price is too high. You should try fish Kabiraji surely. It has many branches. Dumdum branches is near to dumdum metro or railway station.

Starter is good team Mitra cafe and the cullinary team have to improve The taste of the food which is Lacking. Every thing is good but there is *woow* *yummy * factor is missing.

Nice place but staff behaviour is not good. They are always looking at you. Not a very good food it's normal, Street food is better than this.

Its a very nice place for food adda. Its just located beside dumdum metro station. You can find all types of food here and specially mitra cafe special dishes. I love the test. You must come and try it once. Lovely place.

Very Convenient I must say and cozy atmosphere. Price seems a little bit higher, but food quality is excellent. Kabiraji at its best. Air conditioned restaurant with seating capacity of 30-40 people in 2 seaters and 4 seaters tables. Online payment accepted.

Mitra cafe specially Dum dum branch you guys are thugs of Hindustan change your name guys. I'm sharing my experience that this is the most unhygienic place I've ever seen and they actually don't place food as per there menu card today I ordered combo egg Chiken fried rice with 2chili Chiken in evening at 8pm they did not place that food and placing only fried rice they said the time is over and they took the money It was Rs140 for 1plate (combo) and I was forced to eat that only what I can do after this incident I'm very angry actually I make sure that me or my family or my friends shall not come to your place in future if you see, you are loosing customer as well as reputation. I would like to visit other food place instead of MITRA CAFE (DUM DUM BRANCH).

They force for food selection. They told some other food is good and served it. Didn't allow us to select from menu. Place is not clean.

The experience was good. Food was good and tasty but I would like to say. Today I visited there with my friends we have ordered luccha paratha and to be honest the luccha paratha was not like luccha paratha it was normally looking and tasting like normal naan. So disappointed by these luccha patatha and servicing is late.
Affordable price other things are good

In my childhood days there used to be only one mitra cafe situated at shova bazar. But recently this restaurant has opened their branches in multiple location. I visited the branch opposite to dumdum metro station with my family. This restaurant is situated at 2 nd floor. As we all know mitra cafe is famous for their fish fry and other fish items.
So, to revive our childhood memory we ordered one diamond fish fry and one diamond fish kobiraji. The fish fry was soft, crispy and these tastes heavenly. Recently they have introduced several Chinese items like chop suey, noodles, chilli chicken and Indian authentic food items like naan, kulcha, roti, butter chicken etc. We have ordered one American chop suey. Frankly speaking we were not expecting the chop suey to be up to the mark. But it was not only tasty but also way above our expectations. Perfectly cooked, the noodles were crispy and the gravy taste perfect. We ended our dinner with mocktails and which indeed was a refreshing end. So I will recommend to all to visit this place and try their fish fry at least once.
P. S: I would not say that the price range is in the cheaper side but the price justify the tastes of the foods.

Very Nice Cafe always having great tase of fish items one should always visit this place for quality food

My favourite is mutton cutlets. Tasty n awesome though price is little bit on higher side but anyway I don't mind paying few extra bucks for a quality.

Ambience not satisfactory. Food quality very ordinary. At 7pm no fish item was available excepting a special dish which was not worth the price. Altogether disappointing!

Located on the heart of Dumdum road, this place is too highly priced with most of the items not available. We ordered something else and got something else on the table and surprisingly when that was conveyed to the middle aged potbellied person who was gracious enough to take down orders said that we are wrong and started to make up stories (we didn't even have that much conversation while placing the order)! Had such a bad experience after a very long time while having food outside since the catering industry has grown so much! While leaving the eatery the one who cleans the table was again gracious enough to pose an accidental push to me and never bothered to apologise! THIS EXPERIENCE WAS SUCH A DISGRACE TO THE RESTAURANT!

Review is not needed. This place had have it's own reputation. Try once. Butter fish fry & brain chop is awesome.

Kabiraji king in a word. Worth trying their kabiraji. Giving 110 bucks for kabirajis will not make you sad because they tastes just awesome. If you have some time give it a try. For other food this restaurant maintains the stabdard quality of foods.

One of the legendary and Bengali's favorite cafe in Kolkata now opens a branch at Dum Dum. Although I'm little late visiting this branch, it opened few years back. Known for their fish items Mitra Cafe is a brand Bengali's trust on.

The restaurant is located on the 1st floor having roadside view from glass. Somehow maintained, plastic chairs, glass tables, warm white celling lights, overall the ambiance seems okey.

Well this is the dish that made them famous and if you visit this place, having Fish Diamond Kabiraji is a must. Crispy fried thick layers of egg and the fish patty when dipped into their 100% pure sharp, hot and pungent Mustard Sauce, it tasted one of its kind. Fish patty was fresh and packed with lot of flavours.

This wasn't just simple Paratha, it was Tandoori Paratha. That means fluffy layers, baked in tandoor and absolutely non-oily. It is ideal with any kind of rich & thick gravy, just like I tried it with Mutton Afghani & it went super well. But I feel Rs. 40 for a single Paratha is just too much.

I had lots of expectation from this dish but it kind of disappointed me. Although it's a starter item but this dish came with rich, thick gravy on top of a Mutton based patty. But unlike original Afghani the gravy wasn't white and creamy, rather it was just Mutton Kasha gravy cooked with more spices. Coming to the actual patty it seemed big, but Mutton portion was very less. Taste wise it was decent but nothing special.

Some of their items are crazily priced, some are affordable. However our bill was affordable at Rs. 315 including GST.

Well, this branch of Mitra Cafe at Dum Dum is way better than it's origin branch at Shobha Bazar in terms of ambiance & food quality. Now Mitra Cafe is serving Bengali Meals, Crabs, Squids, Seafood and even Chinese but their pure Fish items are what they really rock at. So if you love fish items then Mitra Cafe is definitely an option to consider.

Awesome food. They have really increased their good quality by 100 folds. Had mix Chow and dry chilli chicken. Man it was awesome. Pricing is super reasonable too. The only downside I would rather say is their food quantity seems to be a bit small than others. Like for example I was still hungry after a full plate of mix chow. Would recommend others to go here as well.

Good food-, great location, good and prompt service. Not to be confused with the age old mitra cafe in kolkata. It's in dumdum, near the rail and metro STN.
They have nice coffee and side dishes. Good for couples.

Just brand er jonno cholche.original centre is far better.we had ordered mutton kabiraji r chowmin.both was very much oily and junk type
