I was able to enjoy rural Bengal. The staff at the facility are all village people and I enjoyed interacting with them. It was a very satisfying stay.

Just excellent in all respect like room, quality and quantity of food, cleanliness, hospitality and nature.

A charming place of true rural ambience. Soothing atmosphere, well behaved staff, large variety and quantity of food in each time.in all an ultimate place of refreshing our mind and body. In my second visit I plan to visit my next visit. Love u Monchasha

We spent 2 beautiful and relaxing days here admist such serene, peaceful and naturally beautiful environment. Hospitality and food here is incomparable. The hosts and the staff go that extra mile to make you feel at home. Utmost care and love is put in keeping this place pristine.

Very hospitable and minimalistic resort to enhance the rural ambience. You will get very warm and caring hospitality here devoid of any trained phrases. Homely food and great atmosphere. Ideal for a weekend trip in winter.

Awesome experience. Spent wonderful time with family and friends in the midst of rural Bengal environment. Rooms were very clean, well-maintained and large. Staff behaviour was very homely and pleasant. Delicious and authentic Bengali food was served in plenty. Will definitely visit again.

Couple of suggestions -
- Carry mosquito repellent, as that will come in handy if one is sitting outside in the verandah after dark.
- If you are interested in fishing, carry your own equipments.

December 24,2022: Three school friends set off for Monchasa along with their families. We were a group of 7. It was my family's 8th visit to Monchasa, while for my friends it was their first. And like the numerous visits before this, Monchasa did not fail to enthral me. Every time I visit this rural tourism project there is something new awaiting me.and yet the soul of the place remains intact.warm, welcoming, calming and rejuvenating.

This time we stayed at the new mudhouses.these were placed by the pond and the experience was lovely. I love beautiful interiors and the decor here was artistic with a rustic charm. It was a pleasant winter day.the fresh air and naturally lit rooms were so relaxing.

The rooms are huge.can easily accommodate 4 people as there are two double beds. There is a proper table and chair arrangement with plug points within reach where one can work too. Connectivity is good here. So those planning to work won't have any issues.and for poets and writers, this is the ideal getaway for you.

Monchasa is a nature lover's paradise. The Bagda river flows by the project.lush mustard fields surround it. I have seen Monchasa in most seasons and found it beautiful in all of them.

Food is a big attraction in Monchasa.and they lay out a sumptuous spread for all their meals.the presentation, the farm fresh food, the delicious cooking. Meals at Monchasa are sure to bowl you over. I could see how my friends were bowled over by the warmth and hospitality of the staff at Monchasa.for me, it was not new. By now I know this is what sets this place apart.they treat you not like guests but like family.and I know this feeling percolates down from the top.

This place is Debjani and Nilanjan Basu's dream project. From the project design to the use of local products to being truly ecotourism in nature, we can feel how much thought has gone into it.for example the use of recycled rainwater to create a fountain.

Our driverji, who is not from Bengal, was so impressed by their hospitality too. He told us, we go to so many resorts but nowhere are we, drivers, treated with so much hospitality. This is the true spirit of Bengal. 'sadgi ' (purity) of rural life, he added.

৩১ শে ডিসেম্বর ছিলাম মন চাষা। লেখা টা কোথা থাকে শুরু করলে ঠিক হবে বুঝে উঠতে পারছি না। অতিথিদের দেখাশোনা, না গয়না বড়ি? এক কথায় অসাধারণ । অসাধারন চিন্তা ভাবনা । কাকে ধরবো আর কাকে বাদ দেব? Eco-tourism অনেক ঘুরেছি, মন চাষা র তুলনা হবে না। বাঁশ এর ঘর, আসবাব, এমনকি খাট টি ও বাঁশ এর তৈরি। ফুলের বাগান এর সাথে কটেজ, জলাশয় এর এক ওবাক করা মিল বন্ধন। গয়না বড়ি নাম শুনেছি, এই প্রথম
দেখলাম আর স্বাদ ও পেলাম। উপরি পাওনা গুড় তৈরি দেখা ও কেনা।
তাই বারবার যেতে চায় মন মন চাষা।

Very costly.they charged per head 2700/- for only 1day.

I think that's quiet big amount for this place.

I am a native of kolkata since my birth, the city is beautiful but sometimes it gets a lot hassled. Visiting this resort for even 2 days makes the serotonin levels go higher than ever.definitely recommended for a good relaxing time

Monchasha is the only break you need. If there were more stars to rate, I would have given all of them and still feel insufficient. What started as a quick visit many moons back have forged into friendship with Monchasha and also with the inspiring couple who, with considerable effort and sacrifice, make every stay so blissful. It is intriguing how every stay aspect is so well thought of. The octagonal design of the main cottages, the plush and open "dalan" to spend the idle days, the food and its arrangement, the gardens buzzing with birds, bees, and butterflies. Not to forget the serene ponds where evenings are spent and the quaint river which runs beside the resort. While I often wish there were more such places ha in Bengal, I wish even more that 'our' Monchasha stays the way it is.:)

One of the best getaway destinations surely closeby to kolkata. If one is looking for a homely place based on Rural bengal touch you cannot miss this. Your appetite will shock you coz the food & ambience will complement it perfectly.

This was my second visit. The owner here knows how to preserve the authentic culture, traditional practices of rural bengal. They try to make life more simple. Locally produces used as raw materials. Best Wishes. I have lot of experiences where tourism units destroys the destination.but Monchasha is different. Visit is a must if you are at Bengal. Will visit again soon. Thank you

আমাদের ভালই কেটেছে। বৃষ্টির জন্য সবটা ঘুরে দেখা হয়নি। খাবার ভালই। সবার ব্যবহার খুব ভাল। ঘরে বৃষ্টির জল পড়েছিল। ঘরের floor কিন্ত level থাকার দরকার। কারণ আমরা সবাই 70+ছিলাম অসুবিধা হযেছে।

Staff, Management, System and all other facilities are over marked. Those who wrote about pricing, for them I should mention that you may try at any other hotel of any area (remote/populated) with these facilities. If you get prices lesser than this one, then I swear I would pay the money for you. Just amazing!

Great place to spend a quite weekend with your friends and family. Great food good warmth from the employees.

Too much high price (2500/head for one day). There are not so much things to visit.just cottage style night stay.

Place is good for short trip but I think it is overpriced. Staffs are nice and cordial. Bed, pillow, linen and carpet quality should be improved. Food is good but here also it seems overpriced

On the to Digha from kolkata take left turn before NACHINDA. A village firm home with only 4 room. With a limited facility but really enjoyable. Total village filing. Must visit

I came to know about this fantastic place from one of my clients. Monchasa is built around the eco-tourism concept and this resort created the old charm of a traditional village in Bengal.

There are four cottages and each cottage can accommodate 4 people. Bamboos are primarily used for making the cottages and the good part is, it exactly gives you the exact feel of a rural home. Staffs are homely and are experts at their craft. The food is super great and delicious. They served us a nicely decorated meal during lunch and puffed rice with pakoras in the evening snacks along with tea. Dinner and breakfast were also a traditional Bengali style. All the vegetables and fish items that are served are from their own garden which is there in their backward.

I recommend you should visit this place to get away from the urban jungle. The place is not very far and is on the Kolkata Digha highway route.

Fantastic place. A eco tourism resort retaining the old charm of traditional village in bengal. The rooms are well decorated and thematic. The dining space is just awesome. The staff are homely and expert at their craft. The food is great. So is the attitude. All the vegetables that are served is from their own garden. Overall a must visit place very close to kolkata.

Nice place. Good views. Staff is very friendly. Cottage had rats above in the thatched roof. Food quality is not very good.

A lovely place to stay in calm and quiet environment. Employees are well behaved. Food was tasty. Only thing to remember that one should avoid going there during 31st December and 1st January and a few festivals. Loud noise of microphone from nearby area spoilt the quietness of the place.

Calm, serene and quiet. It's a pretty good spot for relaxing. The attendants are extremely helpful and polite as well

গত ১৪ ই জুলাই আমরা ৫ স্কুলের বন্ধুরা প্রায় ২০ বছর পর একসাথে রাত্রি যাপন করবো বলে ঠিক করলাম।ঠিক হলো মন চাষা যাবার। আমার গাড়িতে আমি ড্রাইভ করে অবশেষে আমার বহু কাঙ্খিত মনচাষা য় পৌঁছলাম। দপ্তর থেকে যে পথনির্দেশ দিয়েছিল তার পর কাউকে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে হয়নি।নন্দকুমার থেকে হেনরীয়া পেরিয়ে দীঘা যেতে কালিনগর বাসস্টপ থেকে ডান দিকে গিয়ে গ্রামের পাশ দিয়ে সুন্দর পিচ রাস্তা ধরে পৌঁছে গেলাম মন চাষার অন্দরে। আপ্যায়ন হলো টক মিষ্টি লেবুর সরবত দিয়ে।আমাদের রুমে প্রবেশ করে সবাই বাঁশ আর খড়ের ছাউনী দেওয়া ঘরে ঢুকে ছবি তুলতে লাগলো । আমি কিছুটা তৃপ্তি পেলাম, কারণ পুরো ট্রিপ আয়োজনের দায়ভার আমার উপর ছিল। এরপর লাঞ্চ এর পালা, খাবার আগেই ক্যামেরার ফ্ল্যাশ লাইট খেলো খাবার গুলোকে।সম্পূর্ণ সবেকিয়ানায় ভরা রাজকীয় ভাবে কাসার থালা, বাটি, গ্লাস এ খাবার গুলোর স্বাদ গন্ধ সবাইকে অবাক করে তুললো।রথের দিন বলে বাজারে মুরগী কাটা হচ্ছিল না তাই গ্রামে ঘুরে একটি দেশি মুরগী খুজে তা বিকেলের পানিয়র সাথে খাবো বলে রান্না করবার অনুরোধ করলাম আর সেটিও করেদিল পাক শালা থেকে।বিকেল হতেই চা বিস্কুট তার সাথেই তেল চানাচুর দিয়ে মুড়ি আর পিয়াজী। রাতের ডিনার সেরে অনেক রাতে ঘুমালাম।সকালে ব্রেকফাস্ট সেরে বেরোব, সেই সময় দেখি জোয়ার এর জলে নদী ক্রমশ ফুলে উঠছে। মেঘ কালো করে আসছে আমরা একটু অনুরোধ করে থেকে গেলাম ওই প্রাকৃতিক দৃশ্য টিকে অনুভব করবো বলে। সুন্দর মিষ্টি হাওয়া, কালো মেঘ, কোথাও আবার রোদ্দুর, সাথে নদীর উপচে পড়া জল, অসাধারণ অভিজ্ঞতা। সবমিলিয়ে আমরা বন্ধুরা খুব উপভোগ করেছি গ্রামের ভিতর ছোট্ট গ্রামটিকে।বিলাসিতা ছেড়ে মুক্ত হাওয়াতে নদীর পারে অদ্ভুত সুন্দর খাবার খেতে আপনাকে আসতেই হবে একবার মন চাষা তে।
খরচ: ৩৫০০/- একটি কটেজ (৪জন থাকার উপযোগী)
খাবার খরচ ১০০৮/- জন প্রতি (৩ বেলা)
মাথায় রাখবেন শীততাপ যন্ত্র এখানে নেই। একটু মশার উপদ্রপ আছে, তবে odomos ওনারা দিয়েছিলেন। রাতের মসারিও পরিসেবা স্বরূপ খাটিয়ে দিয়ে গিয়েছিলেন। যারা প্রকৃতি বান্ধব পরিবেশ পছন্দ করেন তারা একবার ঘুরে যান।

Exploring the location is indeed a fun. The Shalmoli Bithi, which is the plantation area of the project offers a real visual treat. You will find wide species of fruits, flowers, vegetables and spices. Visit Ishani and Naitri, the huge fish tanks (jheel), where large numbers of fish including Rui, Katla, Mrigel, Kalbous, Carp, Telapia, Puti, Mourala are bred completely naturally. For the conservation of traditional cultural heritage, “Sahajiya” has been built, which is a platform for local cultural performances as Chhau, Raibneshe Jatra Pala, Baul Fakir Darbesh and other programmes. The Sahajiya cultural centre is a straw / hogla thatched circular clay court beautified with green grass. Guests need to sit on the ground over hand crafted Madur. Do not miss Nabya Nakshi, the handicraft centre promoted by this project. There is also a plan for promoting Nakshi Kantha, one of the most treasured handicrafts of Bengal, to support the local self help group. You can also visit Aamar Bangla, where you will find numerous attractions like Dhenki, Kumorer Chaak, Taant, Langol, Hand Painted Alpana, Pot Chitra, Typical Styled Tulshi Mancha, Machh Dhorar Jal, Chhip, Gachhe Jholano Hnarite Payra, Mouchak, Borshar Toka, Kendupatar Borshati, Lau Macha etc.

ঘুরে এলাম মনচাষা, কলকাতা থেকে ১৫০ কি মি দূরে দীঘার পথে মেদিনীপুর জেলায়। আমাদের যাত্রা শুরু শনিবার সকাল পর্ণশ্রী থেকে যা শেষ হোলো রবিবার বিকেল

এই 48 ঘন্টা কেটে গেল উদাসী হাওয়ার পথে পথে স্বপ্নের মত। প্রানমন ভরে নিয়ে এলাম বিশুদ্ধ বাতাস আর চোখ জুড়ান সবুজের আবেশ নিয়ে যা কিনা এখন বেশ কিছুদিন টনিকের কাজ করবে আর সাহায্য করবে দৈনন্দিন জীবনযুদ্ধের মোকাবিলা করতে।

আমরা কর্মসূত্রে একই সংস্থায় তবে সকলের একসাথে হয়ে বেরোনোটাই খুব চ্যালেন্জিং, এবারে সম্ভব হোল অনেক অনেক বছর বাদে যা কিনা আমাদের সবাইকে ভীষন আনন্দ দিয়েছে।

শর্মার কচুরী, আলুর তরকারী, গরম জিলিপি আর চা খেয়ে আমরা বিদ্যসাগর সেতু পেরিয়ে চললাম কোলাঘাটের দিকে।

দ্বিতীয়বার থামল Shere-Punjab, Kolaghat এ। সেখানে আলুপরাঠা আর লস্যি আস্বাদন করেআমরা রওয়ানা দিলাম সিধা
মনচাষা গ্রামীণ পর্যটন কেন্দ্রর পথে।

কোলাঘাট ছাড়িয়ে নন্দকুমার হয়ে দীঘা যাওয়ার রাস্তায়, হেড়িয়া পেরিয়ে কালিনগর বাসস্টপ থেকে ডান দিকে গ্রামের রাস্তায় মনচাষা, পাশ দিয়ে বয়ে চলেছে বাগদা নদী।

ফেরার পথে কোলাঘাটের তৃপ্তি হোটেলের ইলিশ মাছ দিয়ে মধ্যাহ্নভোজন করে তবেই কলকাতার পথ ধরেছি।

It was a nice stay there. Loved the food and the service. Vintage feel for which we went, was totally covered. Satisfied with the place.

This is a Eco Tourist Spot, located at Paushi, Bhagwanpur-I Block, Purba Medinipur. If anyone wants to stay here one night, expenses may go upto ₹5,000.00 only. However atmosphere is very nice.

Very nice, greeny and peaceful environment. Just go there to do nothing but relaxing. Homely stay. Comfortable. Friendly staff. Slightly overpriced stay but it is somehow acceptable. But highly overpriced Food Package. Though tradition Bengali Thali is served, I must say that the food quality is not up to mark. The cook tried her best to make it clean and hygienic. One can roam around the entire property lazily and angling in their pond. They have a small library and a few collection of audio-video DVD's. They also have a small selling outlet of traditional items. They arrange pottery workshop on demand. They also arrange a e-rickshaw to visit nearby villages. Overall a memorable experience for life. I wish Monchasha a very bright future.
