Amazingly beautiful and serene. What a place. The haunted house stories adds some extra pepper in the taste. Simply marvelous.

A good place but without any maintenance. No emergency current backup, bathrooms without exhaust, water from faucet comes very slowly, no provision for ac, stale damp odour comes from walls. But the only good thing is the courteous behaviour of house staff. This property needs a major renovation before the new tourist season comes.

According to place, area and availability of essential commodities the accomodation is peaceful and very good. Staffes are very cooperative & helpful. Behaviour also very gentle. Still now except night guard no one is staying there at night.

Because the staff behavior is very bad and also this is man created ghost house

This is a heritage building built in the British era in Kalimpong.now, this property is used as heritage hotel run by the Govt. Of West Bengal. Visitors can book rooms from wbtdcl website. It is said that this property is a hunted house.the British architecture, lush green garden, view of the valley make this property a must visit place.only those who book this hotel for staying can only get entry.others can have a glimpse from the outside of the main entrance gate.

The property is undoubtedly very beautiful. But some thorough maintenance is needed. The rooms are not clean enough. We stayed in room number 104. Some basic things are not available after 8pm. Overall it's okayish.

Morgan house in kalimpong is a nice property of British Time. It is also a famous honted house. We have staied once in this house about 25 year back in the ground floor in one room. The floor is made of wood. One experienced some unnatural activities during our stay here. There is a beautiful garden all around.

Morgan House Kalimpong or Morgan House is a mansion of British colonial architecture built by an English jute baron Mr George Morgan in the 1930s on the hill station of Kalimpong,  Kalimpong district,  West Bengal. Today, the mansion is a hotel managed by West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation  (WBTDC). Earlier this property was also known as Singamari Tourist Lodge or Durpin Tourist Lodge.

Indian actors and celebrities such as Uttam Kumar,  Supriya,  Kishore Kumar,  Amit Kumar,  Leena Chandavarkar,  Nargis,  Sunil Dutt and Om Prakash have stayed in this lodge and their testimonials can be seen framed in the lounge. Actor Utpal Dutt was also a regular visitor. American ambassador in India Chester Bowles stayed here.

অসম্ভব বাজে একটি hotel. এখানে অবাস্তব, সব ঘটনা ঘটে। সারারাত শুধু workman - রা দরজা ঠকঠক করে। খাবারের quality ও খুব বাজে। দু- দিনের booking ছিল। 1st রাত থেকেই পরদিন সকালে hotel ছেড়ে দিয়েছি। টাকা-টা পুরো just waste হলো। Actual matter is We aren't satisfied in this hotel.
Totally bad experience. পুরো কথাটাই বাংলায় লেখার চেষ্টা করলাম।, যাতে কোন বাঙালি family এখানে stay না করেে।

Lovely place! Felt very comfy and cozy. I stayed in room no 14. Parents stayed in a room on the ground floor! Both rooms very nice!

This beautiful villa in the heart of Kalimpong has a haunted past associated to it. Mr. Morgan, believed to be a tyrraneous Indigo farmlord constructed this beautiful villa which he left after his wife Mrs. Morgan's demise. The building is said to be renovated over a mass grave after an avalanche hit the place. All these stories add to the spooky aura of the place. People can book a stay at the place, both inside the main villa or in the cottages inside the campus. However, outsiders are not permitted inside without permission from the District Magistrate unless them have booked their stay at Morgan house.

Excellent place for leisure. Well arrangements and peaceful stay. All staff's are well behaved.

Spend a wonderful time at Morgan house Kalimpong. Loved the location of the house really felt like a colonial British bungalow nothing horrifying about the place. The surrounding is really beautiful and there is calmness and serenity in that place. Stayed there all alone during June 2021along with the security guard at Morgan House during night and didn't feel scary at all rather felt calm and peaceful while staying there. View from the room is breathtaking stayed at room no 101 which is the biggest room with view of Kanchenjungha from the room itself. Hospitality is really good and the staff working there are polite well behaved with a smile on their face and food is also delicious.

I am giving just one star because I am from kalimpong only this place is most hunted place in West Bangle

There's something magical about waking up in a piece history, especially one as beautiful as Morgan House. Special shout out to the staff who are super nice and helpful. I wish the interruptus held as much charm as the exteriors but it's still a lovely place

If you are in Kalimpong ever, then don’t miss the opportunity to staying here at Morgan house! This heritage mansion was built in sixteen acres of area and in top of mountain Durpindara. Its located just 3KM away from Kalimpong town. Morgan house if just 52 km from Darjeeling and almost 75 km from NJP. Its having British architecture and build by Mr. George Morgan in the year 1930. Nowadays this mansion is maintained by West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation i.e. WBTDC. This property also known as Durpin Tourist Lodge OR Singamari Tourist Lodge earlier. Just opposite to the resort you can get into the army golf course. Regarding the resort, it’s really worth staying here! Rooms are well decorated and wooden furnished. Food is really good. And the garden area is lovely roam about. Former Famous Bengali start called Uttam Kumar used stay here at Morgan house and he really loved this place. Whenever he was in Kalimpong, He won’t stay anywhere at all. But some fishy news, we didn’t stay at here but visited with my family and took lunch here. Stuff’s are so gentle and polite! We got the great food here. So tasty and especially the country chicken. It was so lovely. Whenever I visit to Kalimpong again, I would definitely stay here! I got some reviews though I didn’t stay. Rooms are well and spacious. Washrooms are very cleaned and they provide you the sandals. You can get complimentary breakfast over here. Try to book room no 101. This is the best one!

I could not find even one picture of Mr.and Mrs. Morgan. Location, nature, staff is good except the rooms, it could be better. We booked a room of Rs 2100, by adding GST it was 2350 but you cannot see the room before booking, the website is not updated. So we got what was left with them. The basin taps were not properly maintained. The bathroom was small compared to the other rooms. No proper wall hanger for clothes in the bathroom was there. They need to change the mirror too. Once in a lifetime, it is ok.

Sadly this place is not open for public. But if you have a booking you could enjoy the magnificent architectural design and it's cooooozy rooms.

This a majestic property of wbtdcl. Its an british era mansion converted to a tourist accommodation.

Stayed here 4 times.the master bedroom of this house/hotel has a grand view and the room is as large as a football field.

Just go there and stay here for 4 to 5 days.place is such that you won't need to hop around to go for so called sight seeing.bring some good books, single malts and a badminton racquet with you.stay will be blissful experience.

Also some reviewer unknowingly calling this place haunted.no paranormal experience ever reported here.though with pun intended the experience of stating in this british era bungalow can be called out of the world.

This quaint place is located on hill. Morgan house crowns the hills whereas the lower hillside is terraced into levels where cottages and the Morgan house annex are built. A charming garden surrounds Morgan house, an old English house made of stone. Downstairs there are the lounge and dining rooms whereas upstairs are the guest rooms. The rooms are large and spacious with teak furniture. The hospitality is fine. The menu is limited but we'll done. We quite enjoyed our stay there. The staff was very polite and helpful. We even had tea on a terrace overlooking the place. You can feel the charm of a cosy private getaway here. Recommended for those who like something offbeat. But don't go looking for luxury.

This is one of the best places in Kalimgpong. It is one of the popular tourists spots in Kalimgpong. The view from every side is mind blowing. At one side you can see the Golf course and on the other side you can see the clouds playing over the high hills. You can pass a whole sitting on the side of window or the garden. The flowers are beautiful and the surroundings are simply gorgeous since the British period. The staffs are well behaved. You can stay there but it need reservations through online. The room rent is affordable and one would certainly love it I feel.

Spent three days and wasn't disappointed. Don't believe in rumours. No ghost or spirits are there. Awesome place. Good food and room service.a bit creepy.but WiFi is so bad

An imposing old-world charm greeted us as we drove into the estate. Very well maintained, simple double-bed rooms to full suits, sprawling gardens and a white Kanchenjunga at night. Morgan House didn't fail to impress.
The staff is courteous, the food is good- they will ask for your daily orders right from breakfast. There's a golf course just on the opposite side, an army canteen, and the market 10 mins away. Period elegance. Wooden staircases and stillness of the mountains.
We wanted to make the most of it and booked 1 of the bungalows in the compound. Bliss is the word.

They say it's haunted, but the typical colonial structure will attract anyone.

Only problem is, it's not open for visitors. Only residential guests are allowed inside.

Wonderful stay.excellent food.good service and the place has an old world English charm which makes one feel quite as if we are staying in a house in England with its fireplace.
Plenty of greenery and flowers around the house. The ivy growing along the side is beautiful.
The best are the views of the mountains from the windows. I could see Kanchenjunga too.
And no.its not haunted.
