Chicken rezala has a layer of oil on top. Naan was good, and so is the chicken Biryani.
I was very, very disappointed that the restaurant had stopped serving tea (my favorite since ages)

Well, it is what it is. The place is old and broken but the food was top class. Had naan and chaap it was fabulous. 4 persons dined and the bill was 1.3k which is decent enough.

We tried murg mosallam, mutton biriyani and Nan. The food is tasty and delicious. But the staff behaiviour and the ambience is not that good. Hence giving around 3.5 stars out of 5

Serve chicken rezala which was not hot and due to this we can not get his actual taste. Chicken kebab was not fully cooked.

One of the best biriyani's of kolkata, doesn't take much time to serve also after ordering. Located in heart of the city and one of the best places to have biriyani in the area.

This is a very old restaurant serving good quality Mughlai food. They have kept their standard in quality of food over the years. The restaurant has two floors the ground is non-AC while the 1st floor is air conditioned. I am eaten a lot at this place. Their menu is short and simple. You shpuld definitely try their biriyani and rezala. They also serve good haleem during the time of Ramadan.

One of the best, if not best biriyani of Kolkata is available there. Authentic Bengali-Mughlai food is available here. Its a bit pricey, but worth yhe Money.

Located near Paradise Cinema hall (Esplanade) Aliah restaurant one of the oldest mughlai restaurant in Kolkata. It used to make the best of Biriyani before but now their taste is getting deteriorated. Only their tastes still the same. This is the only branch which they have in Kolkata they also had a branch in PARK CIRCUS which recently got closed.

Tried murg musalam and butter roti. What a delicious food. Chicken was very soft and rotti also very good. Dish is made of full chicken and for two people it is bit heavy. And there is no half or quarter option for this. Tasted really good, was first experience and really loved it. Flavour of the grevy was very good. Aromatic and tasty.

This hotel used to be one of the best in town but now days it's foods taste and staff behaviour is one of the worst. Now they only focus on money making.chicken in the biryani feels like rubber. No smile on staff face. I recommend to try some other restaurants in town. This restaurant won't survive long.

Highly priced sub standard food. Biriyani comprisiing of one small piece of mutton (having a large piece of bone), one half boiled potato and a large mound of rice leaves behind a greasy layer in your mouth. God knows what happens once it goes inside our system! Staff behaviour is not good either to have a good handsome rating. I give them only one * and assess my experience with them and their served food as poor and awful.

Amazing food and very courteous staff. The food items have a really unique taste, one which you won't find anywhere else. It is mainly because of the spices they use. Apparently one of the oldest food joints in Kolkata. Must try chaanp with paratha and biryani.

If you want a good ambience family restaurant, this place is good (first floor). But for food Aliah Hotel is a big NO.

Day by day their food quality is going worst. 300rs for a plate of biriyani. Mutton pieces may be days old. Not at all recommended.

The food smells good but cooked in dalda ghee I suppose.stickness on the plate after the food turns out cold

I have always loved the mutton stew here and a must try is their tandoori roti and shami kebab (tikia)

I went there after almost 10 years, I used to visit this place once in a month when I was in my college and early legal internship days with my seniors, friends. So going back again it was nice.
This time I ordered
1 plate chicken biriyani
1 plate chicken qoorma
1 plate chicken reshmi kebab
1 tandoori Roti
Biriyani quantity was same as before may be slightly less, still they are serving with small plates where you think OMG so much biriyani but not the case taste wise it is ok not so special and you don't get egg here but Aloo is there one thing i am surprised the oily ness is almost very very less now a days in there biriyani earlier it was like dripping.
Chicken qoorma taste was ordinary nothing special
Chicken Resmi Kebabs are good soft lil bit juicy the size was big, I personally like soft like buttery Kebabs and Juicy feeling, lil bit disappointed.
Tandoori roti was good
Service is very good as usual

One thing hit me that is price, i mean i know now days running a restaurant needs big money but i feel price was very very high may be they want to become premium don't know, chicken qoorma one pc and one egg and one aloo 225rs is not good.
But definitely recommendable go there enjoy your time after all it is one of the Kolkata's oldest Restaurant.

I have been eating here for more than 25 yrs now. Though there are many big names in mughlai now, Aliah still maintains its own charm. Their taste has not changed in decades. The meat is always moist, soft and tasty. They serve the best murg Mussallam on earth.

One of the finest Biryani you will be served here. You can also try kebab and firni. Value for money. AC non AC both available. Staffs are very good in behaviour.

The food in New Aliah Hotel is amazing. Everything is perfectly cooked. Mutton biriyani, raita, and all other chicken dishes are just unbelievably delicious. Even after having a heavy lunch you won't feel uneasy. It feels great.

Price is soo much High as compared to the food taste and environment.
I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Quantity of the food is very very less.

Like the kebabs and tandoor items. Found it yummy. My friends tried the biriyani who are avid biriyani lover, they praised the dish quite a lot. Their firni is is just perfect, less sweet. Their tea is also wonderful though not available during lunch hours. Love to visit this place for tandoor dishes.

The worst kind of service as well as the food. Aur price to bhaisaab. Lootere log hain. Customer se kis tarah baat karni chahiye bilkul nahi ata inhe. No professionalism at all.

Food is good not great. Quality is on ok terms. Quantity can be increased though.
And they serve biriyani without the Aloo (potato). Make sure to ask for those, if u love aloo in your biriyani.

A famous Restaurant for Briyanis & mutton/chicken chap. Starters such as Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Kabab are tasty. In desert Firni is tasty. Prices of the menus are nominal. AC seatings is also available. Payment can be made via cash, credit / debit ot mobile NFC's. Orders can be placed via mobile apps like Zomato also

Very very insulting experience when me and my wife went to have iftar at this place on Saturday and found service closed at upstairs floor, only ground floor was open. It was not suitable for us in an open place for iftar. We returned and did the same at Aalamir hotel (6no) with other rozedaar.
Shameful for Aalia hotel to keep closed during iftar.

I had visited the place with my friends in July. I can say it is a really good place. The prices are reasonable and the courteous behaviour of the staff is extraordinary. The dishes were delicious too! It is right on the main road, so it can be located very easily. I would suggest you to have lunch there

Excellent moglai place. Ambience good. Food excellent. Easy to locate. Service good. Parking nearby fee based.

The mughlai at this restaurant tests the same since I was a kid. Meanwhile several restaurants pop up in the segment of mughlai, but truly nothing match the test and flavour of Aliah.

Situated in one of the most bustling area of the city. It lacks a fresh look, but the staffs are amicable. Their food is their usp.

Very dirty, filthy place. Quality of food is so bad that it's beyond words. Ordered mutton chaap which had no taste. Special mutton Biryani, which had stale boiled egg and rice. Will never re-visit nor will advise anyone

Words are insufficient to describe the food and ambience of this hotel. You must visit once if you are in Kolkata.

Horrible biryani. Even my local Haji shops makes better biryani! Spend a few more bucks and go to Arsalan.
