A restaurant that is serving the peoples of Behala last three decades approx, with quality South Indian Foods. The best item is Veg Polao which is available from late breakfast to lunch time only. Must try one!
During my stay in Behala, Kolkata I had been to this café twice for lunch. Its a South Indian café with some awesome & delicious foods. The place is quite small and a bit congested with sitting arrangement for few number of customers. Service is fast and food is the best. And in my opinion it is the best South Indian Cafe you will find in Behala. I had tried Dahi Vada and Pulao served with chutney, sambar and raita. Dahi Vada has a sweet and chatpata taste here with sev and cashews garnished on it. The pulao has a completely balanced taste and goes well with the side dishes.
Very good food at extremely affordable prices. A real landmark location in Behala, especially for lovers of South-Indian food. Have been eating at this place for the past 15 years, never disappointed.
It's an amazing spot to get delicious comfort food. I have been going there since childhood and it's safe to say that I've never been disappointed with the quality of their food and service. I have tried many of their dishes but their Dahi Vada is just amazing. Overall New United Cafe is really nice spot to hangout with friends or eat out with family.
Once it was considered to be the best South Indian restaurant in Behala area, but slowly in times the food quality deteriorates. As of now the quality of food is very very bad specially the Dosa.
A legend in Behala. We just love the food from this south Indian restaurant / cafe. My personal favorite is the sada vada abd the butter onion paper dosa. Other recommendations are the veg Pulao and uthappam.
Usually I had a good experiencehere, BUT.yesterday our entire family had dosa ftom here for dinner.today we all have got stomach ache, loose motion as well as vomiting.their food quality is gradually degrading.
One of the best South Indian Restaurants of Kolkata. I have been here since my childhood and they have maintained the same quality of foods for years. I love the chutney (white one) which they serve with dosa.
A taste of south that residents of behala have devoured over decades. An open kitchen reveals the entire cooking process, frankly which is not particularly eye pleasing. However your taste buds will respond very favourably to the consistent taste over the years. Try out the simpler dosa, bada, uttapams and polau options. Dahi bada is another favourite among many
If you guys are seraching for some South Indian restaurants in reasonable price, then I must say this is one of them. You will get very good South Indian dishes here. Do try out whoever wants good food in low price.
This place is nostalgia. Visiting this place since childhood. So many memories. Things have changed but still feel that vibes. Hope it will be like this. I love the masala dosa and the dahi vada. Also try their polau.
A place which I have visited ever since I gained my senses. The taste, even to this date, remains the same. It's not a fancy restaurant but just a small place where you can go and get a good south Indian meal for a reasonable price. I have always come back here for their chutney, which tastes different. It's definitely a nostalgic place for me, but you won't be disappointed to be here if you are in Behala and need a quick bite.
New United Cafe previously known as the South Indian Cafe is a very popular South Indian restaurant near Behala. The Dahi Vara, Idli, Dosa (Of different types viz, Plain dosa, masala dosa etc.) are too good to eat. Great taste and reasonable price. A Must visit place. If anyone wants to go for an outing or for dining, this cafe should be tried. The service is good too. Everyone will enjoy the dishes.
This is the place where I first ate my South Indian food. Since then I am a, you can say monthly customer. The masala dhosa is emphatic. Just turn on your phone play a movie that you like eat dhosa.
Very nice and the oldest place to have a quick brunch or evening snack. Quality and taste remains the same as childhood days. Very much recommend if anyone wants to have south Indian fast food in behala and around.
Since childhood, our go to for South Indian food. The food is really good. Sadly they have dropped a lot out of their menu. I wish they would add more. Also, please add South Indian filter coffee in the menu. It's a shame that they serve insta coffee in a South Indian cafe.
